on In Scandal They Wed (The Penwich School for Virtuous Girls #2)

heyecanlı ve bol bol fantezi Tuttum bu kitabı, The story gets slightly better as it progresses, This is a bit of light reading, really, There's not much of drama going around, so you don't have to bust your brain trying to connect the dots, There were moments though when I feel like bashing my head against the wall, screaming for Evie to just be honest and tell Spencer the truth.
But that would mean the story will end in oh, around page, or so, Better than book one, but Jesus, why is it always the heroine's fault that men are dicks towards her Also not a fan of the heroes in this series pushing the heroine towards sex that she's stated she doesn't want, because he "knows better".
That's fucked up. In the interest of full disclosure, I should say that I love Sophie Jordan's books, There isn't one that I don't think is incredibly wellcrafted, and so it seems inevitable that I would love In Scandal They Wed, And I did. ISTW is reminiscent of the very best of the genre the Johanna Lindsey and Julie Garwood days, when heroes were handsome and troubled and heroines made mistakes that mucked everything up, and we, as readers, just chewed our nails, wondered how happily ever after would ever happen for these two, and then sighed when it finally came.

That's the way it felt to read ISTW, Spencer is gorgeous and troubled, haunted by his dead cousin and devastated by what he perceives and his personal failures, Evie makes a snap decision that sets her on a path that any other woman in her position would make without question, And it is so so so fun to watch them struggle to get together, And when they finally do, it's ohsosatisfying, This was so close to being astar book but how Spencer treated Evie in the woods towards the end of the book was not very nice.
Yes he had been lied to but he acted like a jerk and she didnt deserve that, He should of groveled more for her forgiveness, A couple of cameos of other Penwich School girls a younger girl, Amy, is her nanny, and Marguerite is there early and both Marguerite and Fallon show up near the end.
But really not that much connection,

Evangeline Linnie and Evelyn Evie are half sisters, Evie is the older and was sent away to the Penwich School by her dad and wicked step mother and then later went to Jamaica where she was physically attacked/almost raped, which has given her a fear of the dark.

Now, she's home where Linnie is giving birth to an outofwedlock son, Evie volunteers to keep the boy and say he's hers to keep her parents from doing something drastic with him,

years later, a man shows up on Evie's doorstep, He's the boy's cousin and thinks Evie is Linnie, Linnie's former lover has died in war Spain, He offers for Evie and she decides to accept,

He's not very forthright with her he doesn't tell her that he's titled,
She doesn't tell him her secrets mainly that she's not Linnie,

His evil sisterinlaw and her parents don't help, Ouch! This book was painful,

The concept had potential, it truly did, However, It was executed very poorly,

I found myself, scanning the lastish pages, only reading the dialouge, just to get to the end,

I have read worse books than this, not many, but some, It was so bad, In fact, I actually spent more time feeling empathetic towards the author then I did actually relishing what I was reading,

After enduring, page after page of this flowery drivel, I think I must take a reading break, just to clear my head, . .

Yes, It was that bad,

.This was the first novel I've read by Sophie Jordan, After reading several review that indicated she was a fabulous writer, I purchased this book, I was not impressed. Don't get me wrong, Ms, Jordan can write but I did not like the character Spencer, the so called hero of this story, He is arrogant, vindictive, and just plain horny which he concludes is love, After the distasteful way he treats Evie, I was hardpressed to believe she could be in love with him or why she would want to be.
Sophie's parents have treated her badly, her former employer mistreated her and now she is saddled with Spencer, Another thing that bothered me about this story is the language did not appear to match theLondan era, The storyline seemed rush and quite frankly I even grew tired of the endless conflicting emotions within Evie, Far to many scene after scene we had to endure Evie's should I sleep with him No, I won't, why didn't he come to sleep with me moments, Ugh! What a waste of money, Once again, Sophie Jordan delivers everything you want from a romance novel: wonderful characters, unique storytelling, and gutwrenching emotion, çeviri de uzun zamandır pegasus yayınlarında görülmeyen bir sıkıntı vardı lakin ben yine de kitabı sevdim : naaah muy malo.
. .

I love Sophie Jordan's books so I am probably not very objective when I read them.
I like this current series a lot she has written and am looking forward to Margerite's story next!!!

Secretly, in her heart,
she had considered Linnie weak and stupid
to ever let a handsome face addle her judgment and leave her compromised.

And then shed thought her sister even more stupid
to continue to love the scoundrel after hed abandoned her,

But now she knew,
Now she understood how ones heart could overrule logic, Now she knew love.
Shed never been more miserable,
Skandal Aşıklar The Penwich School for Virtuous Girls Serisi
Sophie Jordan,
Kitap yorumuma gelirsek kızın adamı gördüğü an etkilenmesi ve adamın kızı gördüğü an evlilik teklif etmesi bana göre acaip garipti

Damn, this book was intense AF, This story is definitely not for the weakhearted, The hero and heroine killed me and revived me with all their fights,

I completely sided with Evie in the beginning, I completely understood why she lied to Spencer, She couldn't have trusted him at that point in the story, She needed to be assured that Nicholas wouldn't be taken away from her, I totally get that. What bothered me was how hot and cold she was afterwards! It was really hard to understand where she was coming from, She had already agreed to marry Spencer and give him an heir, She even went to an exmistress to ask for advice because she needed to ensure that the truth wouldn't come out, But then she got cold feet and refused to consummate the marriage, I was still on her side as she said she needed more time, but omg, there was just too much tension between her and Spencer, She kept changing her mind constantly and I was getting so frustrated, Evie is such a strong woman, yet she came across as a coward many times, Her vacillation really got annoying, to the point where I cheered for Adara's machinations, At least that meant we were moving forward, past all the back and forth, Regardless, I couldn't hate Evie because I felt so much empathy for her

Spencer also lied to Evie and she was rightly angry when she found out.
But at least Spencer was not hold and cold, I did not appreciate his reaction when he found about Evie's deception, I could not fault him for feeling betrayed, but omg, he was so harsh towards her, Neither Spencer nor Evie is particularly likable, but I felt for them, I connected with them on an emotional level and their personalities were interesting enough for me to
Take Advantage Of In Scandal They Wed (The Penwich School For Virtuous Girls #2) Created By Sophie Jordan Displayed As Print
invest time and emotion in their relationship, I really wish the author had included an epilogue, After all Spencer and Evie went through, they deserved a happy and cheesy epilogue, Neden o sonu öyle kestirip attınız sayın yazar!!

Anlayacağınız tam bir hatenlove : I ended up liking this, Much better than sitelinkWhile the Duke Was Sleeping, But I do have to say, Jordan really likes to write her heroes aggressively domineering, The whole 'ssssh you'll like it, now come here' I thought pushed it a little too much, And I'm usually not one who's sensitive to these kind of things unless it's flat out rape but I was cringing a little at some of the dialogue and how Spencer kept cornering her.
Same thing Struan kept doing in WTDWS, but it wasn't as antagonistic and aggressive in here, Here the saving grace was there was actual feelings and development between the two, so you got a better understanding where the hero was coming from.
I liked the tension between the two and the fact that heroine was the one hiding a big secret and deceiving him, Nice reversal of roles IMO, .
