was given to Lily as a gift, but I think I will pass on it,
I like most of the book and am okay with statements about how Mommy takes cares of baby in all her tender loving ways, but I find tiny theological issues in children's books irksome.
"Thank You, God, for Mommy,
Her trust and faith in You,
She looks to You for answers, and
She knows You'll see us through, "
It's just the part about looking to God for answers that bugs me, We have had some major, major trauma in our lives and God has never provided me with "answers.
" The only way I've been able to hang onto my faith at all in the face of that kind of trauma is to accept that I will never get answersthat maybe there is no reason for what happened, but I still want to believe God is there and loves us anyway.
So, despite it just being one sentence in the book, I'm not really willing to read that to my child.
I don't want to cultivate disappointment in God in her when he doesn't always give us answers, no matter how hard we look.

My thoughts.
. .
This is such a sweet story, that any mommy would want to share with their little ones.
It is presented as a
prayer by a young panda bear offering thanks to God for his/her mommy and all that she does for him/her.
I never really found anything in the story that said the bear was a boy or girl, but it doesn't really matter.

I got an ARC copy of this book through a galley grab, ebook style.
. . but honestly, now I'm going to have to go buy it!
First off, lets talk pictures! I just love love love the illustrations in this book.
They are so sweet and they go right along with the narrative, When my daughter four and I were reading it, she would ask me what they were doing in the picture.
I would tell her to listen to what I was reading, which explains the pictures, and then we would discuss.
Anyway, my daughter was fascinated and I don't know if it's just me, but it got me a wee bit teary eyed, because I do love my kids so much.
The writing had a good rhythm to it, so it was upbeat and fun to read.
The words were true to life and hopefully my daughter learned something from it, :
I would seriously suggest adding this to your children's book collection!
