It contains a lot of tips that can help you to keep focusing on your priorities and get things done, My recommendation: Don't bother with this book, If you want to read a productivity book, read one of the many better ones out there, If you have any general knowledge on productivity principles, this book will teach you nothing new, As a reader the book feels like being lectured in a rather annoyingly preachy manner, In the first chapter that is put on with extra verve, giving you the feeling you've been summoned the head master's office from the get go.
Often the psychological traits that hamper productivity are qualified as mistakes, Around these traits the author then presents clearly made up fictional people that often run their own small businesses and face the issue of that chapter.
These fictional people are then being analysed and criticised by the author, Often ending in the conclusion that if these people had done the thing the author suggested their business would be a roaring success.
Overly simplistic in my mind, The book is sparse on scientific background, referencing research or enhancing understanding, The occasional instance that the author does mention some research probably form the most informative bits to take from it, The best illustrative example of the shallowness I can give is where the author writes that if you are stressed that is bad for your productivity.
So the best thing you can do is get de stressed, Yes, really: this is the sort of level of advice the book gives you, You get the idea. I am very underwhelmed. I bought this book because I recently found hard to finish a few things that I started that mattered a lot to me.
This book helped me a lot in understanding why it was the case and made me stop blaming me for it, It gave me very useful practical tactics to put into place This book is really well written and structured, the Author goes straight to the point of things in a very interesting manner.
