Procure Fontosaur: When Dinosaur Fonts Roamed The Earth Colouring Book Conveyed By Sarah Hyndman Displayed In Manuscript
Featuring some of the lesser known creatures, as well as the big names, plus lot's of interesting facts, the really original idea here is that the dinosaurs are 'formed' with fonts that reflect their form and name, so adding a unique educational layer.
Admittedly, this might be lost on some of the yoiunger audience, but it enabled my ten year old grand daughter to begin understanding that different fonts actually exist, something that the author is quite passionate about.
Plus some of the fonts are really, really cool!!
So fun, educational and original job done! This is great and our three year old dinosaur fan loves it especially the cut out fontosaur part and all the colouring in.
It isnt small but I reckon a slightly larger format and hard back would be even better This brilliant colouring book is crammed full of dinosaurs reimagined as different fonts.
Children will have fun learning to recognise letters in different shapes and sizes, They will learn how to spell out the names of their favourite dinosaurs while they colour them in, The book containsfontosaurs to colour in along with activity sheets of fontosaurs to cut out, colour and stick onto a prehistoric landscape, The idea to mix dinosaurs with fonts was inspired by Sarahsyear old nephew Eddie, who loves fonts and makes animals out of the letters that spell out their names.
The challenge for Sarah was to choose fonts to suit different dinosaurs and then to construct each one out of the letters of its name, Top dinosaur fanyear old Blake has given the book his enthusiastic thumbs up and says “oh I love this book”,
