At times the writing isn't the greatest, but the storytelling is fantastic, Mickey Haller is a great literary invention, and the story rattles along at pace, This tightly plotted book is a good opener in Connelly's Mickey Haller series, He's quickly established as a quirky, not entirely likeable character, with a couple of ex wives, a daughter, and an office based in a number of Lincoln Town cars, from which Haller runs his.
Mickey Haller is a defence lawyer who works from his car a Lincoln town car he is brought in by a bondsman to meet a potential client Louis Roulet hes up on assault and attempted rape charges.
Haller considers it a possible gravy train or franchise case Gripping , few twists and everything a good crime thriller should be.
Cant wait to read from this author, After looking through my large collection of legal thrillers last week for an Instagram post, I began to wonder if there was any must read legal thriller I didnt own.
This lead me down a Google rabbit hole of list after list of top legal thriller titles.
One book I'd never even heard of Michael Connelly before reading the much applauded The Lincoln Lawyer.
I'd been drawn to it by a half price offer, not knowing the author but finding the blurb to be enticing enough to fork out thefor the book.
What a buy. The reviews I purchased this book a while ago but have read it several times, I was originally given the paperback as a gift, but I have since bought it on Kindle and I have the DVD.
In my humble opinion all of Michael Connelly's Mickey Haller books are excellent reads and I wish after watching the lincoln lawyer, i followed my urge to compare the movie against the book.
