So it was with Initiated, a book I had trouble putting down, and missed whenever I did, I first encountered Amanda Yates Garcia through her Strange Magic podcast with Such a beautiful book, I can't wait to read it, As ayear old male I'm plainly not the target audience, but the good reviews got me interested, So, it's mainly a memoir focusing on authors late teens, scattered with reflections and opinions on magic and witchcraft, This covers some pretty wild and hair raising stuff, Absolutely loved it. I brought this because of the reviews but I wish I hadn't because of the author's constant blaming patriarchy for all wrongs in the world.
I know that it's to blame for alot but to keep going on and on about it every few pages gets pretty boring after a while I just finished reading this book I read it in two days and in that time I quite simply could not put it down.
I took it to the bathroom, to university, read it on buses and in lifts, It was completely enchanting. I want to thank Amanda for putting her work out in to the An intimate and brave sharing by The Oracle of LA about her life and influences that lead you the reader to gain insight into the age old practices that she shares with the world today for the greater good of humanity and the planet.
