thought it might be fun to try and find a book about music theory as used in Japanese media, and I came across this book Vol.
I just finished reading it, and have already implemented some of its ideas into my compositions, It's a nice read, really easy to understand especially with the labels the author uses and the example melodies provided are effective at showing the concepts and are also really pretty.
I'll be moving onto the second book now, : This book is a miracle! Finally I understand why Jpop sounds so different from western music and what I am doing while Im trying to compose music myself.
It explain a lot of flavours and feelings I got from listening to music that I couldnt grasp knowing only basic conventional theory.
