on Mrs Middleton

had a lot of fun throughout the first half of this book, I usually do when it comes to age gap romances, But then it turned into this constant "we shouldn't, we can't be together" from both main characters and once they got together they were so insecure about every aspect of their relationship that it felt inevitable they would destroy it.
I'm not gonna lie, the story got me pretty invested and I even ended up crying, I just wish the characters were a little consistent when it came to their characterisations.
I love age gap romances and the first few chapters of this story captured my interest, However the I read, the I thought Emma behaved like a teenager rather than ayear old woman, After returning to the UK after amonth stint teaching sports to children, I would have expected her to behave in a mature manner in some of her exchanges with the other main character.
Also, there are only a few sentences of her securing a teaching role over here, but nothing than that, Nor does the reader know how she can afford to run a car, I feel the events post Lauren's return to the UK could have been shortened all three characters were behaving like martyrs, that I felt the author dragged it out too long.
You would have thought that after reading this, I wouldn't want to read other books from Ms, Tereze but I will I had read some good reviews of this book so was pleased to find it available in KU, I enjoy age gap novels and this certainly had that, Vanessa was my favourite character, however, Emma tended to get on my nerves, For ayear old she acted like someone in their earlys much of the time, I wanted to slap her, This read didn't work as well for me as I hoped it would primarily because I couldn't reconcile Emma's behaviour with her age which then made her relationship with Vanessa seem off.
It would have worked better if Emma had been ayear old in love with their best friend'syear old mother IMO, Still, I did enjoy the read and it was a good way to spend a lazy afternoon, Expertly written and is a true masterpiece! Like others, my favourite has always been 'The Arrangement', but this book, 'Mrs Middleton', had me feeling every emotion between the words.
How Melissa takes you into another world and has you so invested in her characters is like no other, There has to be a follow up, this book cannot end there!! I'm ready to read it again and I only finished it last night!! Thank you Melissa, for providing us all with such a beautiful, realistic, enticing book! At last a great story that does it just right!!!! I've lost count of how many lesfic novels I have read particularly ones with an age gap but this is the book that nails it.
It should come with a warning, I had my mouth gasped open through many of the chapters, This book shoukd come with a warning that says beaware you will not be able to put this down, you will lose track of time and miss hours in work and hours of sleep.
I read it withinhours inbetween working and child rearing, I'm not an early riser but I found myself reaching to read the next chapter as soon as I woke up.
Perfect story, characters and scenes

and the author really captured the sexual tension and build up between two women, Excellent descriptions of the older of the two women and how incredibly sexy an older dominant woman can be, The sexual politics between the two women was interesting Please can there be a follow on book for what happens in Africa!
