A friend loaned me her copy of this book, albeit, an older version, but essentially the same, and I had to get my own as I was so fascinated with it.
I really enjoyed the art and techniques as well as the message conveyed by Japanese art, Ms. Okamoto takes her time to explain not only the techniques of Japanese ink painting but the feeling and meaning behind it, what, as an artist, youre leaving on the canvas for for anyone to see.
She goes over the supplies that are being used today as well as what has traditionally been used and the differences between them.
She not only shows you how to draw many of the traditional subjects, but shows you how to use the proper brush strokes.
This is a great book and Id recommend it to anyone who wants to pick up
