similiar quantitative background but in another area, In the search for a beginner level literature I was primarily interested to find mathematical, statistical and coding practices that are used to quantify the behavioural and technical components of football.
This book is not very technical and fairly easy to read and understand for everybody, Although I haven't found the technical details I was searching for, the book added an additional thrill in the view of the whole game and I can say that now I'm watching games differently.
Therefore I would say that it's a great intro to football analytics, no matter the reader's level of technical expertise, I enjoyed this. It's the book others in the genre should have been, Clearly there's still a way to go in this field but this was a fascinating and we'll written state of play summary, There were times when I wanted to wave pages or passages in front of some of the 'traditional' fans who believe that there's no room for analysis in football.
