on A Revoada

one hunderd years of solitude and cronicle of a death foretold this is my third favorite book of Marquez, And i got the same taste in this book as after one hunders years of solitude, Also this book is mysterious as much as cronicle of a death foretold, Therefore it is actuall difficult to unhand this book, It is impressive that this book is the first book of marquez, Such a talent !

The eponymous novella feels like an addon to One Hundred Years of Solitude with its references to the Buendía family and the town of Macondo, and yet it was written or at least publishedyears priorand.

In voices rotating between a father, his daughter, and her young son, we spend a day waiting for the legal certification and burial of a former doctor who had once lived as a guest in the familys home.
Ostracized by the residents for many years, the doctor has a history in the village, and we learn how he came, how he lived, and his relationship with the father and the other members of the family.

The elegiac story unfolds filled as it is with diffidence, reticence, ambiguity, ambivalence and heartbreak, It becomes an exploration of who we are, how we are seen by others, how or if we are remembered, We might blow in like leafs in a stormy wind, pile up, and blow away again with little evidence we were ever there.

Lovely./stars. I was not mainly by the story told by the three voices of this novel, but I was not indifferent to the author's pen either.

A strange feeling mixed then,
In a remote village, once a prosperous banana plantation, a death by suicide awaits his burial, However, the tenacious contempt of the villagers for the deceased is delaying events,
Yet a man is keen to honour the promise made to his old friend in the past, Her daughter and grandson are also present, watching, waiting, tell,
Loneliness, abandonment, doubt and resentment are at the heart of a choral tale with a haunting rhythm, but not monotonous and sometimes poetic.

The tension of expectation and the echo of memories mingle with smells and shadows,st book of.

Márquez's first novel, which apparently tookyears to find a publisher, Surprising for the writer he later he became, A novella set in the fictional town of Macondo, its first appearance right at the beginning of his corpus, set around the death of a doctor that the town hate.
It is told rather impressively but also clumsily through three streamofconscious narrators: a grandfather, his daughter, and her son, There's little indication as we move into the different characters all using firstperson so sometimes it takes a page or two to discern where we are as a reader.
This is slightly problematic and gives the narrative a messy feel, On the other hand, it also presents the narrative interestingly, and adopts the very Márquezian structure of tracing back in time from a certain event.
We begin with the doctor being dead and then slowly find ourselves looking into the past from there, Solitude comes up, family, all the trademarks of later Márquez novels, Even, I was surprised and excited to see, the name Colonel Aureliano Buendía features several times, I think I read somewhere that Márquez wrote this at the age of, so quite the sight to see Macondo, Aureliano's name, all embedded within this, only to come out again in One Hundred Years of Solitude.
I also read that inor 'this remained Márquez's favourite novel of his work, which places it in higher esteem than even One Hundred Years of Solitude, which baffles me.
The latter remains to this day one my favourite novels and one of the best novels

I've ever read, There must be some fond, fond nostalgia in this text for it to hold up against the other, .
