Win Cold Faith And Zombies Depicted By Sean Thomas Fisher Shared As Electronic Format

really enjoyed Cold Faith and Zombies, I'll admit that the first couple of pages were a bit confusing with the introduction of so many characters, but by the second chapter, the book flowed.

My favorite part was when we are introduced to Brock, I totally imagined Sam Elliot and guess whatSo did the author : His descriptions and imagery were spot on and I appreciated that.

I loved how there are no happy endings in this, I rooted for the characters and much like in real life, the good guys don't always win.
The author did a good job of intertwining humor and grief, It provided great balance within the story,

I just finished reading this and am eagerly looking forward to his next book.
I've read a lot of zombie fiction and this

rates at the top of my list.
I cared about what happened to the characters and kept hoping for the best for them.
There were a couple of incidental characters that probably could have been edited out the door to door salesman and the lady with her dog but it was a very enjoyable read and I didn't want to put it down.
Asked by the author to read and review this, I really wasn't sure what to expect other than Paul, the main character, is a down on his luck guy with a wife and long time best friend and they are fighting zombies.
Now, I'm not a huge zombie fan, I would rather read about blood sucking vampires, good or evil, when faced with the choice, and have only read a few zombie books.
I have to say this was a great read! It is exactly as the title suggests.
. . Paul, having grown up in church with his mom and brother, is doubting his, well, faith.
How could there be a God that would allow such a horrible 'thing' to roam around eating people left and right After finally making their way out of Des Moines, IA which is only a few hours from where I live so I thought that was kind of cool and heading south where they can have the "ocean to their backs" the gun wielding group meets a few interesting unturned people along the way.
Battling for their survival, each night means a different place for them to stay,in deserted homes where the owners have either been turned or have abandoned their belongings for hopes of safety, with the zombies always finding them then they are running for their safety again.

There were a few "GASP" moments, a few times I fought off a few tears, and lots of "oh, I never saw that coming" moments.
Decently written there are a few grammatical errors but you just breeze right past them as it is hard to stop reading.
Not real scary but full of suspense and real, raw emotion, There is one certain part of the story that will make me never look at a Kohl's store which is one of my favorite places to shop the same way again.
This was the freakiest and creepiest part of the whole story, that has been giving me goosebumps each time a Kohl's commercial comes on tv! Who will live and who will be 'turned' I won't tell you.
. . you will just have to read for yourself because lets face it, that would take all the fun out of it for you, but I promise you, you won't see any of it coming until it gets to that point.
I really enjoyed this author and this book and look forward to reading more of his work very soon! Good story, I liked that the main character was very religious because it made him more real to me.
I have read too many Z books lately where the protagonist just happens to be a survivalist nut that is also a highly trained and experienced Navy Seal.
However I felt the narrator and main character were the same person and chafed at the tone of judgement and almost a holier than thou feel.
A couple of times the same character uses the same degrading term for another character, The narrator portrayed the prontagonist as, having to put up with the unbelievers, I started to really dislike the attitude, Good story overall. Excellent book. Emotionally sharp, both sad and savage, There's no feel good ending here it's the ZA, realistically told, Very well done. I love zombies and apocalypse stories, but this was so much more, I got really emotionally invested in the characters and the book actually made me cry, which is needless to say unusual for a zombie book.
the main character Paul seemed so real I was experiencing his losses right along with him.
I have also read Cold Summer Nights and enjoyed it as well but I think I liked this one even more.
definitely will be reading more from this author This book is no longer available.
I was definitely entertained by this book, I have to admit, I'm a zombie book lover, For some reason, people escaping and fighting braindead humaneating humans appeals to me, I liked the premise of this book, Any zombiestory lover will recognize the familiar everyday man running for his life motif, but there were unique elements that I appreciated.
They met quite a few survivors that were all very different in terms of personality and there were a couple of plot twists that I didn't expect.
The humor was also perfect, It was quirky humor that I can see people using in a situation where they're running for their life, and it lightened the mood.
In fact, there were a lot of instances in Cold Faith and Zombies where the mood shifts from depressing we'renevergoingtosurvive to uplifting we'regoingtoliveourlivesandfindawayoutofthis.
That was something I really enjoyed and something I don't think is found in many zombie books, or at least not to the degree in which Fisher employs it.

What I would have liked to see was more tension, Since this is a zombie novel albeit a quirky one, I was expecting a certain level of creepiness and suspense.
I didn't really feel that while reading it, I thought that some of the dialogue could have been taken out, and the attack scenes and supplyrun scenes could have been slowed down by fully describing the setting and going over each action the characters were doing.
This would have not only added to the tension, but also would have given me a good sense of what this new world looked like, which I also didn't get enough of.
I was also confused as to how long the zombie outbreak had been going on at times it seemed like a week, at others, it seemed like months.
However, despite all that, I did like the story,

My favorite part was the end, Let me say that again: I love the way this novel ended it was perfect, I think ending it any other way would have felt forced, The situation and the tone were spoton for what the entirety of this novel was working up to.

I would recommend Cold Faith and Zombies for all zombielovers out there, as well as for those who like quirky, offthewall humor.
Like I said, it's an entertaining, quick read,

The author provided me with a copy in exchange for an honest review, Views expressed of this book are entirely my own, More emo than it needed to be but lots of impact, I love Zombies! amp I liked this book! It had the perfect amount of gore for me.
I did enjoy reading the scenes where the Zombies came out and the description of their decaying faces and body parts.
The story line was good as well, The only thing that I still question is how the Zombie outbreak occured, There are speculations throughout the story but it is not clear on what really caused the people to turn into Zombies in the first place.

I liked the ending too, Too many times in books endings are predictable and too fairytale like, This was not the case here, I was rather surprised by the ending and to be honest I am glad it ended the way it did because it didn't take away from the story.
action packed . really good book Gotta say it, ROAD TRIP of sorts, I found this to be a thoughtful tale of zombocalypse survivors who travel from Iowa to the Gulf of Mexico to escape the cold snowy weather and.
