For those conservative Christians who may have heard of Splankna, and are worried about the New Age factor, this book addresses those concerns head on, as the author herself explains her own journey through these exact concerns.


An uplifting, engaging book, that not not only intrigued me for its scientific purposes, but also encouraged me on a biblical, spiritual level as well, I've been getting these treatments for a few months and am stunned by the deep full effectiveness of them, God has given us an amazing tool for spiritual and physical wellness, My husband and I are going to aday Splankna seminar this weekend and I read this book in preparation for it, It's the most spiritually eye opening thing I've read apart from Scripture inyears, Quantum physics on a practical level, Fantastic book. Sarah does a great job of explaining the theological and theoretical grounding for Splankna, Anyone who has something negative to say about her or her therapy model clearly hasn't read the book, Or read it with such a strong filter that they totally missed everything she was saying,rounded up. Fascinating book with a thorough and easily understood breakdown of the neuroemotional psychology of Splankna, The author covered not just the how, why, and what of Splankna, but she also gave great arguments in defense of it for people of faith who have honest hesitations about energy psychologies.
She discusses her indepth research of Reiki, Wicca, and New Age spirituality, and what she believes separates Splankna from these practices,

There were a few random opinions I didnt agree with, but they didnt have anything to do with Splankna, and didnt impact the test of the book,

I do see a possible danger in the practice of Splankna, in how it could be used in a spiritually abusive way to blame any physical or mental health problems on unaddressed or unconfessed sin, or spiritual warfare.


Other than these two issues,

I really enjoyed the book and learned a lot, Im interested in continuing to learn more about Splankna, Interesting information on energy healing from a Christian perspective, Thiessen devotes a majority of the book to the theology backing this form of therapy, arguing that it is fundamentally different from New Age and witchcraft, although it might appear to have similar methods.
She claims this form of therapy has been incredibly effective for healing mental and physical traumasin some cases healing issues in one session, whereas counseling can take years, Definitely thoughtprovoking. A wonderful explanation of one of my favorite tools! While there is some bit of good information that can be found within, ultimately, there are many holes in much of the authors logic and conclusions.
excellent book a total believer, she healed my daughter of a Conversion disorder, She personally worked with her forhours!
i wish there was a bit more science and info on the quantum physics as to why it works, it spent a lot of time talking about how conclusion is the difference between splankna and “new age beliefs” but that same logic could be applied to a lot of the things that the book calls “wrong” so in that sense it is a bit ironic and contradictory.
i enjoyed the different perspective on energy healing Thiessen does an excellent job of explaining what Splankna and energy therapy is/are and in distinguishing it from New Age practices.
