LOSS was my least favorite, Solid writing, lots of smexiness, but not a whole lot of detail or backstory since they are short stories, This was my first book by Kate Aaron, but I will definitely read more! Four stories with very differing quality which is a bit surprising as they are all written by the same author.
LUST:
Very short and rather pointless story about two guys who have sex after one of them skips out of a team building exercise because he is afraid of water.
Very generic and no real plot or characters, thereforestar,
LOVE
Two college room mates fall in love, Jason is openly gay, Archie is not out yet, It is kind of sweet how they come together and develop from f buddies to a real relationship, A bit sappy in the end, but a nice read nonetheless,stars.
LONGING
Alex and Nick have a relationship and they have problems, What exactly those entail stays anyone's guess, I didn't understand it one bit, It was confusing and unclear and overly dramatic, Then they had makeup sex, This felt pointless again, as the whole relationship as well as the "crisis" were not really explored,star.
LOSS
Young fireman falls for his closeted boss, This was a rather good read, as it felt realistic, if a bit dramatic with a touch of instalove, Extra points for the realistic end,Now and then we get to read an anthology where all stories are great, This one is one of those,
Lust
This story deals with phobia, No, not homophobia, but some other fear, Mark has never told anyone about his fear that he's forced to face it in his company's outbond camp, Good thing his best friend, Adam, is around,
I liked reading this story as it has a unique setup for the characters,
Love
Two roommates who become 'friends with benefit' without realizing that both want more, When Jason finds Archie is sleeping with a girl, does their relationship end before it begins After all, Jason is out but Archie is notand he seems to be ashamed of being gay.
The story is not new, but it's still nicely done,
Longing
Alex is a bit suffocated by his livein boyfriend, Nick, He then goes out to the club despite Nick's objection, Entering the bar, he is attracted to a dancer who takes him home, Would Alex and Nick's relation survive
I usually don't like cheater, but this one is an exception,
Loss
Tom, a new fire fighter, is in love with his mentor, Mike, There are signs that the feelings are not one way, The problem, however, is that Mike is married with two children, What would they do
This probably is more realistic than most m/m romance out there, At least the ending is very realistic in the frequency of its happening,
