Claim Now The Calm Before The Storm (Night And Day, #2) Outlined By Mandy Rosko Made Available In Audio Book
quite as good as the first, A little drawn out and dull in parts, Siren Classic ManLove: Erotic Alternative Paranormal Romance, M/M, vampires
One year after the battle between the sun sprites and vampires, Ben Volio finds a vampire on the brink of death alongside the road.
With no other help available to him, and no knowledge of vampire medicine, Ben takes him to the home of his friends, where he hopes they can heal the severely injured stranger.
However, this is no ordinary vampire, Seth Sampson was a former guard employed by the vampire Lord Veturious, and ever since his betrayal of the family, he has been held captive and tortured as punishment, and now he's being hunted down until he's returned to his prison.
His very presence endangers Ben's friends, who are also in hiding from the vampires and sun sprites, Should Ben trust that Seth will not give away their secret as a tradeoff Or will becoming close to him prove to be the worst mistake of both their lives In this sequel to Night and Day the story centers around Ben, the bodyguard/friend of Cedric, the MC from the first book.
Ben rescues Seth, a terribly abused vampire from Veturious clan, and provides him with a shelter, They are attracted to each other from the start, but don't know how to move further, Ben is still hung up on Cedric and has a deep distrust of the whole vampires race, when Seth a new vampire is just learning the ropes of his new life.
Add to this the Lord Veturious' vengeful nature, a mad scientist and a clan of enslaved werewolves, and the romance turns to an action flick.
Good action flick : It was fast, fun read, with some hot sex, where most of the conflicts on the road to HEA were external.
Night and Day and The Calm Before the Storm are strongly connected and I advise you to read the first book before reading this one.
The author tried to accommodate new readers by giving the short recapitulations of previous events now and them, I found them annoying, because I've already knew the background, and they weren't enough for someone unfamiliar with Cedrics and Silus history anyway.
Overall, I liked the book ,stars. More of a.May make more sense if read Day and Night first which I didnt cus didn't know it was related, . should be considered bookof a series,Stars Just meh for me, Yeah this was not as good as the first one, Not completely horrible, but I could not give this more thanstars, I love this story, but the lack of editing with errors like punctuation and wrong character names is the reason of mystars
I loved the plot, the new characters, the erotic scenes, how the werewolves problem was solved.
. . I just wish the editor wouldn't be MIA and would edit this book, The writer show me already the stories are original so I believe in the writer skills, . . But damn. . So poor edited.
I will read more, I want to know what will happen now in this serie,
no dubcon, aka rape, scene, but the fact happened and is important to this story, that's why I'm adding this tag to the book This was a good followup to sitelinkNight and Day.
We got to see how Silus and Cedric were doing a year after faking their deaths in the battle between the sun sprites and vampires, and how Ben was handling the relationship between Silus and Cedric.
After pining away for his best friend for so many years, I was happy to see Ben finally move on, because Seth really needed someone like Ben in his corner.
Ben just needed to pull his head out of his ass about being in love with Cedric first, It wasn't easy for Seth to deal with memories of a brother with leukemia, his own torture and rape at the hands of sadistic vampires and then being hunted by werewolves whenever he tried to escape.
And to top it all off the poor dude ended up a crispy critter in the sun and left to die.
The drama steadily continued with Seth's recovery and close calls of being recaptured, and whether Silus and Cedric's secret would be revealed if he was.
I once again enjoyed the more unique powers of the paranormals in this world: sun sprites flashing in and out of places using rays of the sun, Ben's human power of teleportation, and let's not forget about the vampire dream.
I thought Ben and Seth's first sexual encounter in the dream world was pretty hot since Seth drank Ben's blood, he was able to summon him into his dream to help him fight that perverted old vampire Winchester.
I hope there will be another book to follow becauseBen and Seth were still living dangerously close to the vampires and risked being discovered, andI'd like to see alpha werewolf Jackson find someone special since we got to know the werewolves much better in this book.
