novel in Macombers Angels Everywhere series is comical, as always, They say that God works in mysterious ways, Macombers story here definitely embodies that, At the same time, she in no way pushes her readers towards religion, Macomber makes the setting easy to picture and the story easy to immerse yourself in, This well written amp presented novel combines all the best of the Christmas season in a package that can easily be enjoyed year round.
I absolutely love these angels, Even though weve met them before, Shirley, Goodness, amp Mercy continue to grow as individuals and as a team, Their antics never fail to make me giggle, The trios new sidekick is priceless, Good intentions turn into some rather comedic moments as he tries to find his footing on earth, I also thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the main couple in this novel, Getting to know their thoughts and dreams really made me feel close to them, They were also quite enjoyable individuals, Macomber really has a way of making you feel like youre part of the characters lives,
I thoroughly enjoyed this story, It is one that will definitely be reread time amp time again,
. The angels Shirley, Goodness and Mercy and their new apprentice Will are at it again, excitedly meddling in the lives of the humans theyre assigned to on earth.
Lucy and Aaron were supposed to meet anyway, but when their intervention messed up that meeting, they have to go back in and make things right.
Lucy is a chef who owns her own restaurant, Aaron is a food critic who writes for a paper, The angels try to help a bit too much by adjusting the food as it goes out to the table and things do not go over well! This was cute and comedic with just the right notes of a sweet Christmas read.
/stars. Shirley, Goodness, and Mercy are at it again, and this time they have an apprentice angel under their wings, Will to help lend a heavenly hand to the humans down below.
On New Years Eve, they meddle in the affairs of Lucie and Aren, a couple who seemingly are meant to be, Unfortunately, the Angels' plans for the pair hit a bump in the road,
A year later, Lucie and Aren haven't forgotten about each other, and neither have the Angels, They devise a plan to reunite the pair, and give them their happily ever after,
I loved this story, Debbie Macomber's angels are both mischievous and innocuous, Will was a welcome addition to the trio, They give a whole new meaning to the term 'guardian angels',
A sweet, charming, and highly imaginative Holiday read, I give Angels at the Table, by Debbie Macomberstars!

The first thing that drew me to this particular book was the title.
Im a huge believer in Angels, I love everything about them and it is not often that I read a story with angels in.
Id LOVE to read more fiction that features Angels, and after reading this one, Im now on the look out for more!! I must also say that the cover of this book is GORGEOUS.
It is very warm and invites you in before you
have even opened the first page!
Mercy, Goodness and Shirley are Angels.
They are Prayer Ambassadors, working under the direction of Gabriel and helping the humans on Earth by answering their prayers and guiding the humans.
But one rule they find hard to follow is that they must not interfere too much! When they take a new apprentice under their wing, the trio get so caught up in showing Will the excitement of Earth on New Years Eve that they all get a bit carried away!
Lucie is in Times Square waiting for the New Year to come in, and after she is separated from her friends, she finds herself alone as everyone around her hugs and kisses in celebration.
Next to her is Aren, he too finds himself alone, and when Will accidentally nudges them in his anticipation to be amongst the crowd of humans, sparks fly and there is an instant attraction.
However, the passion and romance is shortlived as a twist of fate tears them apart, Will Aren and Lucie find each other And can the Angels lend a helping hand
I cannot describe how much I enjoyed this book! I finished it in a few hours and I could not put it down! Immediately I was drawn in by the story of the Angels in Heaven looking down at the exciting events happening on Earth.
It made me smile to read about the Angels enthusiasm for Earth and how much they enjoyed their time with humans and their visits to Earth!
I loved reading about the two separate worlds and how they interlinked, coming together as one.
I loved that the Angels followed humans around and tried their very best to help, even if sometimes it did have disastrous consequences! I was laughing out loud at the mischief they got themselves into, and I enjoyed picturing the scenes in my head, wondering how things would appear to the humans who could not see them! Mercy and Will were my favourite Angels I loved how Mercy had a fun side and although she meant well, it was her influence which always landed the others in hilarious situations.
I think Will was brilliantly written as an apprentice, I enjoyed reading about his progress and his love and care for the humans touched my heart.
I liked how he tried his very best to behave, and how all he wanted throughout the story was for things to go right.
I absolutely adored the Angels, I could not stop laughing at their antics and I am already looking forward to reading the other stories that Debbie has written about them!
Lucie and Aren were very wellwritten as characters.
I LOVED their initial meeting at the beginning of the book, I was actually squealing with excitement at how well their relationship hit off at the start! It has to be one of the most romantic scenes Ive read this year, something about it pulled me in and I felt so much happiness for them! As sad as i was when fate intervened and tore them apart, it compelled me to read on to see how their individual journeys progressed and I willed them all throughout the book to find each other.
Lucie was a character that I very much got behind and supported, I warmed to her straight away and wanted her to have huge success in all areas of her life and achieve everything that she wanted to.
Lucies mum Wendy deserves a mention too She was fantastic and always made me smile,
Angels At The Table is an enchanting book filled with magic, There is the perfect balance of love, kindness, and a lot of humorous moments thrown in to brighten your day, It is a warm story set amongst Christmas and New Year, and it is by far the most comforting story I have read in a while.
There is a very special message in this book: We are never alone, And sometimes, if we ask for help, then Angels might visit Earth, cause a bit of mischief along the way, but ultimately, they will try to help you and answer your prayers.
Angels Shirley, Goodness, Mercy and Will interfere with Gabriel's plans for Aren and Lucie to meet, Admonished by Gabriel to not intervene again, they decide to correct their mistake and intervene anyway, They just can't help themselves, From this point on they over compensate for their mistake and continue to make things worse, They just want Aren and Lucie together! From stolen camels to floating actors and mysterious happenings with taxi'sthecontinue to interfere in Gabriel's master plan.
This was a fun Holiday read, Who knew angels could cause so much commotion when trying to do good I tried, I really, really tried to like this book, I've been dealing with a dad with dementia and a husband who is having health issues, I wanted something light to get me in the Christmas spirit, I have read a couple of Macomber books before so I knew what I was in for, Or at least I thought I did, This is the first I could not finish, I can go along for the ride with angels watching over and intervening on our behalf, Right about now, with Christmas next week and the stress I am under with my men folk, I NEED to believe there are angels watching out for us.
HOWEVER, I was only able to get to Chapterbefore I threw in the towel, Formulaic writing with predictable outcomes that the reader can anticipate way before the characters was more than irksome, The "will they" or " won't they" get together drama because of so much lack of communication all drummed up so that the story can go on longer had me swearing out loud.
I felt like I was reading a "B minus" student's junior high school writing assignment that was trying to fill up the mandatory set amount of pages and the assignment was to write another variation of "Sleepless in Seattle" from the point of view of angels.
Worst of all were the bumbling antics of the angels who kept intervening and screwing things up because they seem to be from the same mold as "The Three Stooges" and are onetrack minded and easily distracted by shiny objects.
They had all the self control ofyear olds let loose at the county fair and made me anxious more than anything.
If guardian angels are that inept, then we are all screwed and made me feel worse, The angels escapades were meant to be funny, I suppose, but I found it stupid and it completely blew the spirit theme of Christmas I so badly wanted from this book given my life circumstances at the moment.
I seem to be in the minority on my review just like Aren's first review of Lucie's restaurant was,
I really enjoyed this story!
Lucie and Aren meet at Times Square on New Years Eve, where they accidentally “bump” into each other.
They have a lot in common, and agree to meet again soon, but things dont always work out as planned
There areother Angel books, but they do not have to be read in order.
If you love Romance books, you will love this sweet story ofpeople trying to make a relationship work despite some "unexpected" turn of events!.
this was a light fun read a good book to read as the holiday season begins Super cute and quick read! In this one there is an apprentice angel named Will.
Will, Mercy, Shirley and Goodness are on Earth to help Lucie, She is a chef who owns her own restaurant with her mom, One new years eve in Times Square, she runs into Aren a random guy who happens to also be single, Both have lost their friends and they kiss at midnight, They don't exchange numbers but agree to meet at the top of the Empire State building at a certain time, However, when that day comes, Lucie's mom also gets taken to the hospital so she has to go there instead of to meet Aren.
He thinks she blew him off and that's that,
But the plot thickens. Aren is a restaurant critic, He goes to review her restaurant a year later and has a terrible experience! However, that is because the angels have all thought they were helping and added seasonings to the dish and ruined it! The angels had arranged him coming to the restaurant in hopes of bringing them back together but it back fired at first.
They do meet back up and she doesn't know he's the critic and he doesn't know how to tell her, She clears up the mess with the day at the Empire State building and they start a relationship, until she finds out he was the one who wrote the terrible review.
Eventually they work it all out and it ends happily ever after,
Cute, cute, cute. Loved the NYC setting!.
