on The Complete Idiots Guide to Belly Fat Weight Loss

are so many books out there about belly fat that I decided to go with "The Complete Idiot's Guide, " Why Because I did not want a book requiring a degree in organic chemistry to understand, This book, as it turns out, was written for me, I have not read a single thing in it that I did not understand,

The book contains a wealth of knowledge, It discusses everything I can think of that equates to gaining and shedding belly fat, While it covers much more than this, it focuses on three essential paths to the shedding part diet, exercise and controlling stress, The diet part is nothing extreme, It describes the good and bad in foods and lists many foods that contain more good than bad, There is nothing extreme about the approach to food suggested by the book, While I have a pantry full of things that are on the bad side, my refrigerator and a cupboard are now full of the good.
I have gone through my pantry and weeded out the worse, packing these into a box well, two boxes for a food drive for the needy.
What remains will be consumed over a protracted period so as to minimize their damage,

My salvation was a good discussion on snacks, You CAN snack and lose belly fat in the process, About a quarter of the book contains recipes for fullblown healthy meals designed to reduce belly fat,

The exercise portions were a welcome relief, Essentially a yogastyle program, there weren't any exercises I felt strained or silly doing, They combine exercise with stress management and that is good, But there is also emphasis on muscle building and metabolic challenge and endurance cardio workouts, There is nothing lifechanging about this approach except that you have to do it to reap the benefits An easy summary of current research into what causes abdominal fat, especially visceral fat, and what one can realistically

There is information on how to calculate BMI, but also a discussion of why BMI really is not a good indicator of visceral abdominal fat, along with a brief discussion of how one can estimate one's visceral fat, which is the really the type most dangerous from a health perspective.
There are some good, easy recipes in the back with nutritional information included, too, Such an easy read. Many interesting and informative facts, The recipes at the end of the book are incredibly helpful, Probably the best part of the book, I made the tomato soup chicken dish delicious, I don't need to lose weight but just trying to stay healthy, and this book really helped me transform my life stye into a more health conscious one.
