read this! I woke up early on Mother's day and by the time my husband and daughter were awaking I had the finish line in sight.
What a fun ride! Especially loved the racing theme and the inclusion of a woman racer especially since I am, :D Cole was definitely sexy, Can't wait to read Full Throttle! This book didn't work for me at all, Too short, not much of a plot, no secondary characters and the main ones were completely underdeveloped and with no substantial background, Although Sarah's problem was interesting the solution to it came way too quickly and easy ruining what was the best aspect of the book for me.
Not a bad book just a big fat mehhhh, Should have spent my time reading something else, The only thing wrong with this story, it ended too quickly!!
Sarah amp Cole, what a crazy perfect couple, He's exactly what she needs, . . and she's exactly what can heal him, And they have fate to thank for their coincidental introduction,
Her job stress has sent her on a trip south for a Spa vacation, . . when she finds herself stranded on the side of the road with car trouble, luckily a gorgeous race car engineer comes to the rescue! And what a 'RIDE' he takes her on!
Hot amp Steamy!!
Joy Daniels.
. . PLEASE consider continuing Sarah amp Cole's story! The storyline is so cute, Cole amp Sarah were easy to fall in love with, the ending was delicious.
. . and I just want to see what's next for them! Sarah is a successful and very busy lawyer in New York city who has had strict instructions to drive into Virginia to an out of the way spa for some rest and relaxation.
But her stress is not going to go away, as she is in the middle of nowhere in Virginia and her very fancy car hits a pothole and breaks down.
Fortunatly for her, a sexy man in tight jeans stops to help,
This sexy man is Cole Cassidy, She assumes he is just a regular mechanic, but she soon learns he is a car engineer who builds and fixes very expensive race cars.
He knows his stuff, and he also knows that this very uptight lawyer is turning him on, When he realizes her car wont be ready for a day or two, he offers for her to stay at his place, Im sure you can guess what happens next,
Im just going to go right to my problem in this story the heroine, Sarah is this uptight, snobby lawyer who demands her car be fixed quick, looks down up the “lowly mechanic” Cole and overall just annoyed me this entire story.
I kept begging my kindle to make her into a heroine I would like, Because Cole Oh, he is mighty sexy, Full of darlins and a southern accent, He has manners and somehow puts up with Sarahs ridiculous behavior, Sarahs personality is. well, she doesnt have one, It was so frustrating. I love that Cole builds race cars and I like how he seduces Sarah, I just really wish I had enjoyed the heroine, Also, Coles ex was an uptight, high maintenance woman and their relationship ended badly, I needed much more to be convinced he would fall for Sarah,
One thing I do have to give the author props for is the end, While it ends with a HEA, it doesnt end with an I love you nor a marriage proposal, I almost wept with joy, Im so sick of stories like this, ish pages or shorter that just tack on or rush the love or marriage at the end, This one ends with hey, lets see where this goes, Yes. Thank you author.
I believe this is her debut book, and Id like to read her next one, With a different heroine, I could have really gotten into this one,
Rating: C Sarah and Cole's story is a fast read, Their conflict is tight and the sexual tension is hot, I loved the descriptions of Rapture, Virginia, Loved the details about racing car mechanics and from the second Cole takes her out to the track, I couldn't put it down, I'll be looking for more from Joy Daniels, that's for sure! I narrated this wonderful debut novella of author Joy Daniels and it was great fun to do! Well written story line and very hot sex scenes :
Currently, for sale on The Audiobookshop.
com sitelink theaudiobookshop. com/cgib and soon to be on Audible, Amazon and other retail sites, This was a sweet, hot story, Sarah is on her way from her job as an attorney in NYC to a spa for some prescribed relaxation when her Porsche breaks down in the middle of nowhere in Virginia.
The only guy in town who can fix it is Cole, She thinks he's just a mechanic until he takes her to his gorgeous home which was built with money he earned designing engines for bigname race car drivers.
Her awe over his home raises Cole's hackles because his exgirlfriend was all about the money, totally not about the small town side of Cole.
Or even racing, for that matter, But Sarah and Cole are majorly attracted to each other, and when Sarah seems genuinely interested in him and his involvement in racing, things start moving quickly.
Problem is, Sarah's prescribed relaxation is due to an inability to climax, and her tendency to over think things ends up ruining what started out as a very hot encounter.
But Cole, being a guy very in tune with Sarah's moods, figures out a way to keep things moving in he right direction,
I really liked Cole, I loved that he was so in tune with Sarah it wasn't all about him or his pleasure, Do guys like that really exist, lol I didn't like how he jumped to conclusions about Sarah, but at the same time, he'd been led astray by his last girlfriend, so I can see how he would be gunshy, especially with a
girl from NYC.
I felt empathy for Sarah, for her issue, With women, sex is very much a brain activity, and hers just wouldn't let her relax and enjoy, I'm so glad that Cole stuck it out and figured out how to get her to relax enough with him to have that breakthrough,
My main complaint about this story is that I wanted more, I wanted to see what would happen once they really made that breakthrough, Maybe have the ex show up and Cole rub it in her face or something, lol, . . all the while, Cole and Sarah could further explore the D/s stuff they touched on and explore each other more, And of course, as a reader, I'd get more hot scenes, so it's a very selfish request, I'm aware, This was definitely a page turner, It was hot and sexy and I definitely need more! short story about a city girl and a country guy that meet, . . and have amazing sex.
Pretty good read. Ready to read more from this author, Sarah Lange is a lawyer in New York City who, due to medical reasons, needs a vacation, She decides the location of her very much needed getaway will be a spa in Virginia, Unfortunately, her car breaks down in the middle of the road in a small southern town known as Rapture, While awaiting the tow track, she meets Cole Cassidy, a stock car mechanic who stops to help her, Her journey to the spa might have been derailed but she doesnt know that she is about to embark on another new kind of journey.
Sarah is a city girl and an attorney in New York, Country life is not really her scene which is evidenced by the way she dresses, the car she drives, a Porsche, and the way she talks.
However, she is there anyway for some relaxation which she really needs, She is very unlikable, especially at the beginning of the book, Her attitude seems and sounds condescending and she comes off as too high maintenance and too good for anybody in this town in the middle of nowhere.
Shes very rude when she first meets Cole,
Cole Cassidy is a stock car mechanic who stops on the side of the road to lend a hand to Sarah when he sees her stranded.
He is a Southern gentleman in every way, When the garage Sarahs car is taken to cant fix it for her in a timely manner, for her convenience, he offers to do it though he is very busy.
He is a very understanding, caring and accommodating and doesnt hold Sarahs hangs up and uptightness against her,
Even though Cole and Sarah meet on the side of the road, sparks fly immediately between them though they separate soon after when the help arrives.
They soon meet again when Cole is called upon to look at the car,
REVVING HER UP is a novella, One that I truly enjoyed, However, it was really hard to like Sarah, even in light of seeing her frustrations with the car breakdown and the stress from her job.
She came off as a snob but she also had certain moments when she surprised me because she was suddenly and unexpectedly really nice, These moments and also the fact that Cole liked her and seemed to see past her attitude and accommodate her as he could, helped me like her a little.
The romance between them is also believable and hot though it happens fast, At the beginning, Cole tries to fight his attraction to Sarah because his exgirlfriend was also a city girl like Sarah and where he came from wasnt to her liking.
But the attraction between them is strong,
The ending was also fitting with no declarations of love as is typical on most endings in romance novels, Given their two days acquaintance, it felt appropriate and it also managed to convey a HEA regardless,

NOR Kind of boring, . . I was hoping for more, All I got was meh, Oh my holy hottness. This book goes full throttle from the starting line! I didn't mean to read it all in one sitting, but I absolutely couldn't put it down.
The writing is tight, the characters are very well developed and the plot is feasible, I was actually bummed when the book ended,
Highly highly recommend if you're looking for some classy, wellwritten erotica, ed for Evie at sitelinkwww, EvieKnight. com

Revving Her Up appears to be the first book in a new series by Joy Daniels.
I say "appears" because its listed as "Full Throttle" but there are no other books listed after this one, I seriously hope this author continues on with this series because it was a lot of fun!
First, as always, is the heroine, Sarah.
I tried to like her, I really, really did! She's supposed to seem like this brash, uptight New York City attorney and that's exactly how she came off.
The problem was that she didn't ever seem like anything else, I know that we're supposed to maybe not like her so much at first but then warm up to her as we get to know her better.
I thought that her sexual dysfunction was interesting and something I've not seen recently if ever, I can't recall a time where a female character couldn't reach orgasm due to too much stress in her life, I think its a great way to endear her to the reader but I just wasn't buying it, Well, I guess I was buying it but I still felt she was still this one dimensional snob who didn't want to care about labels and designer clothes and money but in reality, she does.
It didn't escape my notice that for the most part, she only thought two things about Cole: he's hot and he's rich oooh look at his designer clothes, oooh look at his advanced degree, oooh look at his beautiful house, etc.
. Sure, she eventually likes him because he can give her an orgasm and he opens a couple of doors for her but come on, I need more from her, I wanted to like Sarah but it just never really happened for me, I think that at best, I ended up tolerating her,
Cole, on the other hand, is amazing, He's hot of course but he's also crazy smart! Sarah thinks that he's just some hick mechanic but in reality, he has a degree in mechanical engineering with a specialty in automotive design or something like that.
In English, that means he's not just a mechanic, he can actually build engines for racecars! Design them, build them, fix them, tweak them, all of it! Now, for me, when a man knows his way around an engine, that's hot.
But when a man knows his way around an engine, inside an engine and every other way about an engine, consider me on board!!! I didn't care one way or the other about his "southern charm" for two reasons: first, I live in the south and have YET to see a man displaying ANY of this fabled southern charm or manners, or any of that so what I'm saying is that whole southern charm thing is a myth!!!! Yeah! I went there!! Second, and I know this is going to start a war but.
. . Virginia is NOT The South in my opinion, Washington DC is not considered the south and there are parts of Virginia that are NORTH of DC!!! Obviously, I'm speaking geographically and not about, like, the freaking Civil War or some shit.
Besides, I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin', No matter what my opinion is on The South or on this Southern Charm, Cole is smoking hot, He's smart, sexy, handsome and can fix your car, . . yum, is anything better than that
I think that Cole and Sarah could be pretty hot, The first encounter they have doesn't go so well because of Sarah's issue but you can definitely see potential there, Later, they're more . successful and yikes, they are definitely hot!! I thought that Sarah was way too much in her head but that's kind of her exact issue so I can't really complain about that.
I think its really ballsy and cool that the author actually had a scene where no one ends up happy, you know I can't say that I really liked Cole and Sarah together but this is a pretty short story aroundpages.
I think if I had more time with Cole and Sarah, I would warm up to them as a couple,
Overall, this was a sexy book, I didn't connect with the heroine but I think if the book was a little longer, the author may have been able to expand on her good points more and I would have liked her more.
Cole is the reason that I think people should read this, I know a lot of us think that mechanics are nasty, smelly, fat grease monkeys but this book shows you that they are a LOT more than that.
That's not to say that ALL mechanics are hot, sexy beasts because holy crap, they're NOT! LOL! But don't write a guy off because they have dirt under their nails well, if they have dirt under their nails and they're chewing on their nails yeah, write 'em off but that's selfexplanatory, isn't it.
I would hesitantly recommend this book to readers of erotica/romance, It's pretty hot as long as you can get past the lukewarm heroine, .
