Seize Every Cowgirl Goes To School Depicted By Rebecca Janni Digital Copy
was perfect for my nervous little girl, It helped her to understand how to turn things around when she feels that she is having a tough day, The first day of school is not easy and for cowgirl Nellie Sue, this day is turning into the worst of her life,

Dressed to impress with her boots and pink sparkly cowgirl hat, Nellie Sue runs to the bus only to discover that all the seats are taken and her best friend Anna is sitting with a new girl.
Arriving at school, she realizes her desk is in the far back corner of the room and the Jtwins are creating a hassle, Boots are not allowed on the gym floor and to top it off, that new girl Maya drew a picture that makes Nellie look like a cow.

A complete misunderstanding helps two girls to become new friends and by the end of the day, Nellie Sue is not feeling so bad.

Intended for preschool to kindergarten, I think the storyline would be very helpful for those days when your young one comes home a bit grouchy because their day did not go as planned.
Beautiful illustrations and positive ending will showcase that with resilience good can come at the end of a very long and difficult day,
Nellie Sue is excited about the first day of school, She's excited to see her friends again and super excited to share the things in the bag her new teacher sent home for showandtell, But the day does not begin well when she finds that she can't wear her cowgirl hat to school, Then when she tries to find her friend Anna she sees her sitting with another girl, Then she finds that her desk is not with her friends but at the very back of the room between the J Twin trouble makers.
She can't wear her cowgirl boots to PE, she trips and gets a mouthful of sand that makes her milk taste gritty and then a new girl draws a picture of her as a cow! How humiliating!

After running outside with embarrassment, the new girl, Maya, comes and finds her and lets her know that she didn't mean to say that she was a cow.
She just thought that since Nellie Sue was a cowgirl, she must love cows, Nellie Sue immediately feels better and returns to her classroom where it's time to share their showandtell bags, Nellie Sue makes Maya's picture of her as a cow part of her showandtell to show that she is proud of it,

A good firstdayofschool story, Kinda simple and overdone, but cute, I had a slight issue with Nellie Sue's dialogue, It seemed at times as if the author was trying to make it rhyme, But it lacked consistency and pattern, i think it was great that the main character was able to turn her bad day into a good one, and made a new friend in the process.
I'll admit if you'd asked me to rate the book a third of the way through it would have been two or three, But I kept on thoughts of my niece who LOVES ALL THINGS PINK kept me reading,

And you know what In the end I quite liked it, She finally realizes that you can have a good day even when parts of it are not what you wanted, SM Nellie Sue's expectations of the first day of school fell short when a new girl arrived and unintentionally stole some of the thunder, This would be a nice book to share at school and discuss some of the reasons that Nellie was upset, I noticed while working at a school around third grade is when the girls in particular, start getting very possessive over their friends and jealousy rears its ugly head.
This book would be a wonderful conversation starter to share with the entire class, great message

ladies who'd ask I read this loved it

great story Mom read to us, Another great book in the "Every Cowgirl" series! I like this series because Nellie Sue is such a relatable character and has a big imagination.
Becky Janni's words with Lynne Avril's illustrations always make me happy and the books are very entertaining, even for adults, This time, Nellie wrangles a problem many kids have at school: friends, Her friend Anna is meeting new people and Nellie is at first jealous of Anna's new friend, Maya, She tries to be nice, but things aren't really going her way, How will Nellie Sue figure out how to be a friend to Anna and maybe accept Maya, too Find out! School theme solid little girl has a rough first day at school when her best friend seems to be spending all her time with a new friend.
