decent retelling of the mythos of fallen angels and vampires, Was intriguing in the beginning, But kinda got lost from the title in thend half of the book when it implied vampires originated from Angels, Publisher's blurb as follows: ,B, C. : A bolt of universal lightning, a crack of divine thunder, and brothers Tashum and Paladin are cast out of Heaven along with one third of all angels, banished to the earth they refused to serve.
Tashum lands in the sea, near an island that would later be named Bermuda, Scarred from the blistering heat of his descent, he becomes nocturnal, staring out into the night with his owl's eyes, wondering about his brother and the other fallen immortals now scattered around the globe.
And searching for the secret that will allow him to reenter the Kingdom of Heaven,

A. D.: After spending millennia alone, Tashum discovers a sailing ship hung up on a reef, its two inhabitants barely alive, and is able to save them, Fanny and Dickey had been brought back from the brink of death once before by a being with owl's eyes who gave them each a transfusion of his celestial blood.
Tashum recognizes his brother in the tale and immediately sets off on a quest to find him, a quest filled with incredible decadence, vicious betrayals, passions both momentary and enduring, and perhaps the haunting truth behind.
. . The Silence in Heaven.

Oh dear heavens, What an awful awful book, To sum it up in a few words: poorly done Anne Rice for angels, Ack.

And I had such high hopes, Dashed to the ground much as the angels were at the beginning of the story, This book started out with lots of potential and then went nowhere fast, I kept reading, hoping that eventually something would happen, but nothing did, Ya I loved this book to, I have it on by book shelf to read again, about Angels of course, Looked for more books by Peter LordWolff but found none, The first onehalf of this book was excellent a twist on angels, vampires, good/evil, the dawn/rise of humanity really well done,

But then around the midpoint, it's as if you can actually HEAR the author thinking, “This would make a great movie! Ill just throw in a few car chases, some explosions, some hightech spy stuff, an attempt at a poignant death scene Hollywoodll love it!”

I give the first half of the book.
stars, the second half I do hope the author publishes something else, though, because there was a fair amount of promise in many places,Worst book about vampires and the origins of vampires I have ever read made it about/of the way through and then just gave up, I was under the impression that this book was the first book in a trilogy, The title and book cover material sounded interesting, and the book even began rather interesting, I even noted a paragraph that I really liked in my "special book", But then, the The Silence In Heaven's storyline took a turn in a direction that, frankly, I'm tired of reading about and it lost me,

If this were to be a trilogy, there needed to be another book in the series by now, but I've seen nothing, At this point, it would take some serious coaxing to get my to read it, For a book that's more thanpages long, there's not much substance I was able to read the entire thing in two hours, It's a weird combination of genres, Imagine if Robinson Crusoe, A Trio for Lute, Interview with a Vampire and The Da Vinci Code were thrown into a blender, The resulting smoothie would be something like The Silence in Heaven, Here's the gist of the plot: fallen angels create vampires and spent the rest of the plot torn between trying to clean up the mess they've created and get home.
Started off well. The ideas were intriguing and characters were interesting but took a weird turn which led to everything sort of falling flat and to a standstill, Life is too short for books I don't enjoy! Brothers Tashum and Paladin and one
