Grab Instantly Mommy's New Tattoo: A Bedtime Story For People Conceived By Levi Greenacres Presented As Ebook
New Tattoo is the story of a young girl who visits a tattoo shop for the first time with her mother, who is getting a tattoo.
The story examines the mother's reason for getting tattooed and the lasting consequences of wearing and displaying body art, This wisdom helps the young girl later in life when she goes to a tattoo shop for her own tattoo, Written in rhyming verse and crisply illustrated with vibrant colors, here is an excellent conversation starting piece for tattooed parents and their children.
Complete with a bonus coloring page that can also be used as a tattooready stencil, All ages. The writing was a bit forced at parts, but I think the general message was cool, Why oh why do authors persist in thinking that picture books should rhyme I'll give this onefor the information presented, I like the illustrations, except for the fact that the young girl/narrator in flashback appears way too old to fit her portrayal in the story.
She looks like a teen, not a young girl who accompanies "Mommy" for a tattoo and a lesson, A book about getting a tattoo! The story begins with the narrator as a young girl, accompanying her mother to get a tattoo.
She explains what she sees and experiences and explains what a tattoo is in very childfriendly language, When she gets older, she decides to get her own tattoo and explains how she makes a responsible choice for herself,
Obviously, tattoos or stories about tattoos are personal choices, But if you have a tattoo that you are proud of and want to explain this to a child, this story is a great choice.
I didn't initially care for the artwork but after a second reading, I found that it fits the tone and message of the story very well.
The story rhymes and is best for children ages, Beautiful artwork in a classic tattoo style, Cute story.
Occasionally the poetry didn't scan, IMO, I think it would have been better unrhymed, but still, a fun book, Love the message, love the art, This may not be the best literature ever but I really like that it depicts another kind of role model, I feel I have the responsibility as a librarian to show people children as well as adults who are diverse in their feelings, thoughts, choices and looks.
I love the tatoolike artwork too! Some of the rhymes are a little clunky but save that, this book is fun, Loved the illustrations. sitelink post a
