Get It Now Hide In Plain Sight And Buried Sins Scripted By Marta Perry Available Through Digital Edition
isbooks in one and I haven't read this author before, I liked her.
Fun things about the stories:
, Cleanno language or sex
, Set among the Amish, but the main characters weren't Amish, A new twist for me,
. A nice blend of suspense and romance
, These stories have a definite Christian theme with God's will, desires, and help being a part of the stories, Surprising for me as it is published under Harlequin "Love Inspired Classics" books and Harlequin doesn't usually make me think clean or Christian, :
Hide in Plain Sight isin the Three Sisters Inn series, It features the old sister hurrying home to be a younger sister who is in the hospital after being hit by a car, Driving thru the dark and windy Amish countryside, Andrea doesn't reach the hospital before getting in her own accident, With her car out of commission, she is grateful to get a ride to the hospital from Cal Burke, but she is NOT grateful to discover he is her grandma's tenant.
That starts their love/hate relationship but there is more to the story because Andrea is being watched in the night, doors are opened by "no one" and closed and locked "by accident.
" I liked that this was a clean story and I liked it being set among the Amish, but the main characters weren't Amish, which was fun,
Buried Sins is bookin the Three Sisters Inn series, I didn't feel like I had missed anything by not reading book, This story revolves around Caroline, the youngest sister, Grief over her husbands recent death and then threats from scary people that suggest hubby isn't really dead, sends Caroline fleeing from New Mexico back to the family home in Amish country, Pennsylvania.
A run in with the local Chief of Police lets secrets out of the back and ends up giving Caroline much to question in her previous marriage and in her future.
Family dynamics, threats, cruel tricks and a couple sub plots keep things
moving along, Hide in Plain Sight was a good, safe, quick read with likable characters, It is part of a series about three sisters, I enjoyed both books. It contains booksampin the series, but there is no problem following book three without book two,
This is not an Agatha Christie mystery, but there is a nice element of suspense, In both cases I had figured out one of the bad guys, but not the coconspirator,
I received this book as a prize for a contest win in a Goodreads group, but no review was required, Two great books in one! I received this book combo in a Goodreads first reads contest, Thanks to Marta Perry and Goodreads for holding the giveaway,
As this is two books in one, I will review both books individually,
Hide in Plain Sight is the first book in the combo and it is the first book in the Three Sisters Inn series, Andrea Hampton returns to Pennsylvania to help get her family's bed and breakfast started when her sister is injured, The book gets off to an exciting start as Andrea must be rescued almost immediately from a car accident, The excitement is strong throughout the book, as it seems that someone is after Andrea for an unknown reason, Calvin Burke, the woodworker living in an apartment on her grandmother's land, ends up being Andrea's rescuer many times, The attraction between Andrea and Cal is very strong, however, the reasons they both find to not be together also appear valid, This is a wellwritten and enjoyable story,
The second book in the combo is Buried Sins, It is the third book in the Three Sisters Inn series, It is not hard to follow what is going on with the sisters, even though book two is not covered in this book, In Buried Sins, Caroline Hampton returns to her family in Pennsylvania, Caroline has a serious aversion to law enforcement, So, obviously her love interest turns out to be the local cop, Zach Burkhalter, There is plenty of action and mystery in this second story in the combo, Caroline is recently reeling from the death of her husband, She discovers that he wasn't the man she thought he was, Strange things are happening around Caro, Is her husband really alive Is Caro in danger from him or someone else This was a satisfying mystery,
I enjoyed these two stories and found them interesting to read, They are set in Amish country, however, the main characters are not Amish, which is a fun twist, Both "books" are Christianbased mystery stories with an Amish flavor in that they live near an Amish community and have known them for years,
Both are enjoyable reads with the mystery there until the end, Both end a bit abruptly, Sorta like Solved the mystery, Know who the bad people are, All is well now. THE END. But novellas tend to be like that which is one of the reason I like full books best, Two complete novels in the beloved The Three Sisters Inn series by Marta Perry
