often than not as story has a tendency to peter out as the tale continues in book sequels, Not so with the second book in The Empyrical Tales, Suspenseful and even a tiny bit creepy at times, like all good fairy tales should be, The Lost Queen is packed with in depth story telling and fast paced action as our little Zandria heads out to fulfill her quest.
This book just zips along, never leaving the reader wanting,
The storyline already established from the first book, The Fourth Queen, this one picks right up where the other left off, Im fast falling in love with the creatures and characters Mark Miller has created, From the Skordians to our little "Doc",the dwarf, and even our villian,Raymond Shadaway, its hard for me to pick out a favorite! I guess Ill have to keep reading!

sitelinkThe Secret Queen The Empyrical Tales" Zandria and Olena continue their adventures in the land of Empyrean.
Zandria discovers a magical crystal that may be the clue to finding their mother, who has been missing the past six years, Zandria and some new friends set out on a quest to recover the other crystals, The wicked Carnivale Chaotica ringleader, Raymond Shaydaway, wants the crystals for his own evil ends and will stop at nothing to take them from Zandria.
Now Zandria must solve the mystery of the Lost Queen if she has any hope of finding her mother, This is the second book in series about Empyrean, the complex kingdom that Mr, Miller has created. A wonderful sequel, it is infused with the same kind of magic that the first book in the series had, making it a good choice for all ages.
The characters truly shine in this one, They jump off the page, with Zandria leading the way, We are introduced to the Skiordan people, shadow characters of the Peckwood forest as well as Raymond Shaydaway, a fantastic villain who seems to steal the scenes he appears in.
His Carnivale Chaotica creates a great atmosphere, making the book a bit darker than the previous one,
The writing is clear, wellstructured, with very few errors, which makes for a pleasurable reading experience, There is a musical quality to the way Miller writes that makes the reader want to pick up more of his books, Something else that should be considered is that these books have very strong female protagonists, none of the wimpy ones we see too often nowadays, so its a great choice for teen girls.
I can easily and happily recommend this book to everyone who likes a wellthought out fairy
tale in a truly magical kingdom,
Once in a while I think I find a gem, something maybe some people have seen, but really hasnt found the audience it deserves yet.
“The Lost Queen” is one of those works, It as a YA novel, is part of The Empyrical Tales series, and it is fun , innovative and flat out well written, Yeah how do I really feel about it huh Here is what is between the covers on this:
“Zandria and Olena continue their adventures in the land of Empyrean.

The engine on this vehicle is the narrative and voice Mark Miller infuses into the work, The guy just has that certain something, that gift for putting together great characters with a conscience, with a set of values that are real, visceral and tangible.
If my younger daughters are going to read something, I wish every novel they consume was constructed in this manner, with such high standards, Miller has crafted a great series in The Empyrical tales the universe he has created is fun to read about, and I almost felt I was a part of it.
In the future for Mark Miller: He is the lead author of a new digital short story being released this week called, ”A Prince in Trenton, Seriously”.
It is part of The Authors Lab/Collaboration series and is another first for the series, The story is an all ages work it can be read by a person of any age and can be read to the little ones.
I am very proud to say all that and to have had the pleasure and honor to follow Mark through the whole thing, Not only was this a blast to do, but it felt pretty cool trying to be a part of the new universe Mark Miller created.
Look for its release at weeks end,
