Scott has assembled a must read for every Christian woman, DARE MIGHTY THINGS is a handbook for Christian women that will help you understand the limits the world puts on you and overcome them through the power of Jesus Christ.
Ive never felt so seen, so understood, Consider this the LEAN IN for Christian women, I wish this book had been available to me aboutyears ago, when I was a female in the preaching/youth ministry program.
At the time, I was the only female in the program, Throughout college, I tried to navigate through the unique challenges facing me as a woman studying for Christian leadership, I remember feeling so alone, Many of the study groups took place in the men's dorm, or I just wasn't invited, I felt as if I had to give up the feminine part of me to succeed, yet still be womanly, I felt as if I needed to work twice as hard to prove myself, Finding a job in ministry after graduation has been impossible for me,
Dare Mighty Things addresses these challenges and so much more! This biblically sound book is designed to help women navigate through ministry leadership, whether they are leading as a volunteer or a paid staff member.
I would highly recommend this book to any women studying Christian leadership or serving in ministry, There are also plenty of things that men could benefit from in the book too, Balanced, positive, encouraging, and challenging,
Disclaimer: The author is a friend, Densem prof This might be my favorite book on womens leadership, Instead of giving a bunch of ideas on how to lead a successful womens ministry to satisfy the women in your church, she, instead, points women to use their Godgiven gifts to serve and minister to women outside the church.
She addresses the shallowness of many womens ministries and how they can play into stereotypes about women instead of celebrating the variety of women in congregations.
She also goes into challenges that women in leadership face, but continually points back to following Christ and that being worth the struggle.
She spends time explaining character of leadership which is character based rather than personality based, There is so much in this book that is excellent, It is a good resource for women who lead in the church, but I also believe it is a great book for any women because really the author is teaching how to be a woman
who follows God, makes disciples, and leads in whatever role she finds herself in.
A wellresearched and thoughtprovoking work on mobilizing Christian women to embrace the leadership that they already demonstrate, Halee Gray Scott is equally astute theologically and practically, She challenges the current paradigms of ministry to women with the notion of ministry by women,
The main challenges and strategies of success for CHRISTIAN WOMEN LEADERS Are you showing up for your own life Or are you watching it slowly drain away, each moment emptied of its potential At age twenty, Halee Gray Scott was doing things her way when God challenged her with these two questions.
Confronted with the brevity of human life, she determined to start living with purpose and passion and help others do the same, For the last seven years, Halee has been studying the lives of female Christian leaders to determine what keeps them from fully flourishing as people of influence.
It's not that Christian women cannot or do not want to lead it's that their way is fraught with roadblocks, In Dare Mighty Things, Halee unpacks the results of her research, tackling the top challenges for Christian women, including: What prevents us from seeing ourselves as leaders How to discern what we are really, truly meant to do How to navigate between our roles as women and leaders How the myth that only 'exceptional' Christian women can lead hurts all Christian women Dare Mighty Things is a guidebook for women navigating the difficult waters of leadership.
Packed with helpful advice and strategies for success, it will challenge you to claim your Godgiven potential and lead with confidence, poise, and grace.
