Procure A Wrong Turn Towards Love (Estill County Mountain Man, #2) Drafted By Pepper Pace Distributed As Softcover

this was so action packed for a short story, I loved it. Bodie and Shaun are very interesting characters and I instantly fell in love with them,

The only thing I will say is that the ending is was a bit rushed, Especially also because the epilogue was not in Bodie or Shauns perspectives but from a different side characters, Though we do learn more about Bodie and Shauns life together, I really would have just liked the story to stick with them instead of transitioning to a different characters story.
funny short cute did I say funny, One never knows where a wrong turn will lead

Shaundea's wrong turn in the mountains took her to love, The redneck dive she found herself in after her car died, was her undoing, But she had a guardian angel in the form of a big bear of a man Brodie, He protected her when the klan assumed she did something when she didn't, Their spending that alone time together scared them both, Shaun was a fraud of the recheck klan that treated her horribly and her attraction to Brodie, Brodie was scare he did not know how to be in a relationship since he was used to being alone, They just parted a let their fear take over, On Brodie's behalf, he did try to find Shaun to no avail, It took them months to reconnect, Shaun decided she liked the mountains after all and it was a perfect place to raise a family and work on their HEA,

Pepper wrote a short story that was raw and too real for some people, The bottom line was that Brodie and Shaun fell in love and were happy, Others who was them were happy for them and wanted that same happiness for themselves, The last part with Derrick's confessions was heartbreaking but cleansing for him too,.stars.stars. I didn't get this story! It is anything but comedic dark or otherwise it is sorry, The heroine, Shaundea, "Shaun", is a hot mess, She takes a 'wrong turn', mechanical problems disable her car, she leaves her car and walks to a bootleg redneck bar, She arrives at the bar around:am,hours later, around:pm after being chauffeured around and rescued at the bus station by Bodie, she is in love with him.
On the way back up the mountain to get her car registration, they are stopped and threatened by men accompanying the brother of the murdered man but Bodie convinces them that one of their own is the murderer.
By:am,hours after meeting Bodie, Shaun initiates unprotected sex with him, Eight months later, having had no further communication or interaction, a pregnant Shaun returns to the same redneck bar demanding that Bodie step up and take responsibility for their soon to be born child.
Dark. This was followed by lots of "I missed you" and deep eye staring, Comedic. They get a HEA. Solid read for me. My one complaint is I wish it was longer, I'm love this story i love Ms Pace very rarely disappoints me, Bought this about not an hour ago and couldn't wait to read it,
Loved the way Some characters from Beast awesome book came into play, thumbs up I liked it, I am a fan of Pepper Pace, I wish that it was a little longer, Not a bad read though, Great short read

Great short read

couldn't put it down till I was finished, for such a short read it was great, Nothing was left unfinished. Loved it and so will you, Love see no color I feel like this interracial romance novella was nowhere near as good as the first book in this series, The author provides a warning at the beginning to expect racially charged language but theres also some sketchy language towards trans people as well.
Its all in character sort of and fitting with the setting and characters in the book but I didnt think it was necessary, I also felt zero connection between the hero and heroine, it seemed more like convenience, I just didnt buy it at all,

The premise is that Bodie is a halfindigenous American mountain man minding his business when Shaun rolls into town desperate with car trouble unknowing that this is a white supremacistdominated town and that trouble is on the horizon.
Bodie unwillingly gets involved with Shaun who is running away from her own problems back home and gets involved in a murder mystery in this town with an active KKK community.

To me, this had opportunity to do great things and it didnt, The whole wishywashiness of the KKK plot angle, once again women being the receptacle got broken aint men, and some slight fetishization behaviour just threw me.
I would read another book by this author because I liked the first book in this series by her and would want to recapture that magic.
Also this is a high heat level book, Cutie short story. Connect to the story "Beast", it takes place in Chris's hometown,.stars. I want more. Very satisfying and sweet read, I love Pepper Pace. I enjoyed it. I really liked Bodie and Shaun's story and personalities, I would have loved the book more if there was more of an ending for Bodie and Shaun, The ending of this book closed out Chris's friend's story from the most awesome book by Ms, Pace titled 'Beast. ' That was cute but I could care less if Derrick's racist self got an HEA, A darkly comedic adventure befalls a lone black woman that takes a wrong turn, which leads to murder, the Klan and a big sexy mountain man named Bodie.
Shaun and Bodie were a match made in heaven, From the first time they laid eyes on each other there was something special,

Shaun was running away from her home in Chicago when she got turned around and ended up in Estill County, Kentucky, Being in the isolated mountain in the middle of the night was no place for a young black woman on her own, When she stumbles across a store and ventures in, she finds it full of rednecks who have turned it into an after hours bar.

Bodie was not in for the foolishness the local were stirring up at the sight of a black lady so he leaves only to run across her in the parking lot.
She is having car trouble and he is a mechanic,

Fare brought them together, but Bodie's protective instinct made them friends, He saved her from some fool playing in the woods with a white hood and takes her to the local hotel, He offers to tow her truck in the morning and when they return to the car they find the police, The fool on the woods the previous night had been shot and killed,

Bodie once again protects Shaun and is compelled to help her, Eventually they get together intimately, There's nothing like almost being kidnapped and chased by wanna be klan to make a girl feel sexy, They spend the night in the woods and she can not resist the large muscular man who saved her, Plus he was sexy!

I won't ruin the end other than to say they get their HEA, I was however confused about why the epilogue focused on another resident I town instead of the couple, Maybe a sequel I dunno, Pepper Pace Rocks!

I will buy ANYTHING this woman writes because you can always count on it being well written, thought provoking and just plain GOOD! This short story did not disappoint from that award winning formula one iota.
I love Pepper Pace! SPOILER ALERT

From reading a few of Pepper Pace's books, I was expecting this to be of a higher caliber, storywise.
It had the bones of being really good, but was too rushed with some editing issues as well, The heroine was somewhat annoying, and the lack of protection, resulting in a surprise baby had me rolling my eyes,
.stars. Solid, as can be expected from Pace, but the short length makes it unsatisfactory, Pace is SO good at writing loveable heroes it just leaves you pissy when the story isn't given the time to allow you to enjoy one.

This is a bit like foreplay, And a partner who has premature ejaculation, Sure, I like makin' out but you leave me hanging, all that goes out the window, This was totally awesome! Absolutely loved this tale of city meets country, . . Loads of delicious drama, mystery, and sensuality, all wrapped up in a fun tale complete with "touchable" characters that will make you grateful for quality Multiethnic Romance writers, such as Ms.
Pace.

Giving this one,This was difficult for me to give it a higher rating, After reading "Beast" this book was not as good, It was too short. Maybe if it had more to it and the couple had more time with each other before the sex and pregnancy, it would have been more believable.
I loved it until I read the epiloque from Derrick's POV, What's up with that It's not like he's someone important from the beginning, I know the need to explain unanswered question about why Keegan was killed but why waited until the end of the book I just don't understand.
I liked it though. Awww amp Wow!

Love how the Mountain Men books connect but still stand alone, Although A Wrong Turn . . is fairly short and leaves you wanting more, . . I for one was satisfied enough, Couldn't help but go back and forth between anger and fits of gut busting laughter and the Epilogue alone is a circle closing tear jerker.
Another keeper! I laughed out loud one at scene, fast read, and my first one by this author, I did find it weird that Shaun Shaunda, Shaundae was in love after one day and Bodie wanted nothing

but black love after one encounter.
The epilogue was it supposed to be a segue into Derrick's story

I would have loved to meet the dad and get his reaction to the pregnancy or even her coming to the realization that she was pregnant.
So much of the good parts of the journey was not included in the story,

Thanks Pepper. I did like the Pace, I didn't care too much for this one, it wasn't too bad, but it would never be one I'd try to read again, I liked Bodie, frankly speaking he sounded sexy as hell, hello mountain man!!!! I was not fond of Shaun, she seemed simply and young, an unimpressive combination.
I didn't care for her character at all really, I felt the story was rushed and that it could have gone in so many different directions than it had, I think I blame my distaste for it solely at Shaun's feetLOL, maybe had she been a better character I would have enjoyed it more, maybe not.
In either case, it sucks that I am rating this book like this because I genuinely like Pepper Pace and I would normally suggest her books, but I refuse to do so for this one.
Pick up another of her books, it will likely be better than this!
Short cute read

Shaundea aka Shaun has taken a wrong turn, a BIG wrong turn and has ended up in the mountains.
She decides to ask for help in a bar but the locals are not so friendly in fact she feels like she is in the middle of the KKK land.

Bodie notices the cute black woman when she comes in and wonders just what she is doing here, Bodie chooses to mind his own business however when the locals decide to intimidate Shaun he decides to step in and help,

This was a really fast read, It started really strong, I liked the premise and wished it was a full book, Bodie seemed like a hot bear of a man,
This is a crazy ride of a short story, The love story is dark and light at the same time, It is a little bit silly and a lot tender all at once,

It is a bit fast paced and we could dwell in the HEA more but Pepper Pace is a great writer and this is worth your time.
