a fabulous debut from Mary Ellen Porter! Loved the characters flawed, strong, compassionate, Loved the story a gripping opening sequence that had me flipping pages as fast as possible and a plot line that kept me wondering what would happen next with stakes as high as they can go.
Mary Ellen's knowledge of working with search and rescue dogs really shines as that aspect of the story is woven in seamlessly with the suspense thread.
Can't wait to read more from this author! This book has a lot to keep the reader entertained: almost nonstop action, some quirky characters, simmering chemistry between the lead characters, amusing repartee and more.
I read this book after "Off the Grid Christmas" but chronologically it comes first, . . and it would have been even better if I had read it first, without spoilers fresh in my mind, Excellent! I loved the dogs, the suspense, and the faith displayed by Grayson and Rose, The search and rescue scene felt so real, With reading!! A Kbook with an exciting plottwo people finding love in the midst of immense suspense for the missing children's danger.
Story started off interesting, Laney witnesses a kidnapping and tries to stop it, but ends up injured, Grayson is an FBI agent trying to track down the kidnappers, so are now after Laney to stop her from identifying them, The characters of Laney and

Grayson were well built and I especially liked spunky Aunt Rose, The kidnappers seemed to always know what was going on with the investigation, and Grayson is trying to figure out if the leak is coming from the FBI or the local police.
I shook my head when it was revealed who the leak was, how could it be someone that was so trusted, Where the story went downhill for me was the end, the investigation wrapped and a relationship between Laney and Grayson was formed, but we missed it.
The story jumped a couple weeks ahead and briefly wrapped up what had happened in the time in between, I missed the declaring of feelings and the indictment being filed, THE ONLY WITNESS

It was definitely a faith based one, which doesn't bother me, There were a lot of things happening quickly in this book and almost an insta love quality, but still overall a good read.
Good mystery and likable characters, I really liked Into Thin Air! Mary Ellen Porter did a great job keeping me guessing up till the end when the characters figured it out.

Laney Kensington a former search and rescue was now training dogs for the local police department came across a kidnapping in progress.
In her attempt to stop the kidnappers Laney found herself in the hospital under guard,
Grayson DeMarco an FBI agent assigned to the Missing Children's Division was in a hurry to speak to Laney because she was the only person who could break this case wide open and so were the bad guys.
Will Laney and Grayson figure out where the stolen kids are in time before they shipped out and never scene again This was much for of a suspense novel than a romance, but it was a well written and fast paced novel.
I liked Laney a lot, And Gray. But there wasn't a great connection, at least it was written as a great connection between the two, Overall a good story, just it felt like I was missing pieces of the romance, Loved the stong capable characters after being caught up in a child abduction former search amp rescue turned dog trainer, Returns to work with FBI to bring down a child snatching ring This was so good! Plot plus, and good characters, A little comic relief and a lot of can'tputitdown action, I wish there were more books by this firsttime author,
INTO THIN AIR is Ms, Porters debut novella and it is good, but touched close to home in a scary way, Laney witnesses a thirteen year old girl being abducted when shes walking home from music lessons and I imagined my thirteen year old in that placeand instant tie to the story.
I wanted Laney to help the FBI and police locate the missing children and return them to their families, I wanted the “bad guys” captured,

I did figure out “whodunit” relatively early since I read enough romantic suspense to figure out the writers mind, But I had to keep reading, and I especially liked the parts of the book where canine search and rescue was utilized, I hope this author has more books planned using these canine heroes,
