At least this one tried to have a mystery,

Once again I really like this cover, The swirl going to the dogs nose being a play on the nose map and having actual highlights of what he sniffs in the air is a great detail to the cover.
It's a good cover.

The story is really basic, almost an antimystery, I have to give it credit where this one actually had a mystery, I have to be honest at one moment I was really surprised, I did not expect Jack Russell to actually have an arrogant BONE within him, I don't know if our hero was always arrogant or if this was the first time but he actually said the Terriers are the only dogs to speak in fact while every other speaks opinions.
I didn't see that coming,
While some of the puns are amazing this book tries way too hard by making "fake" puns like Star Witness and Inspired Guess don't fit Pawsisted and Supawrior in the glossary.

Over all I think it is O, K. at best. My favourite part was when the mystery was solved, the kids were thieves and the dogs weren't, The worst part was when the dogs were blamed for eating the biscuits and also stealing them when the kids gave the food to the dogs.
My favourite character was jack, because he solved most of the mystery, The worst characters were the thief kids, aurynyears old

My thoughts: I definitely appreciated this one more than The Sausage Situation, What I loved most about this one was that Jill Russell has quite a big surpriseleading up to the cutest tail wag ever.
Of course, readers also get plenty of Jack's Facts and his endofchapter glossaries and nose maps,
