Sharon Kendrick writes so well about characters that make many bad decisions and say horrible things, These two deserve each other, And poor onenight stand baby shes going to need a billionaire with mommy issues for her HEA inor so years.

Really The h felt horney five days after giving birth And then is up for sex, up against a wall no less,weeks after giving birth is that even possible
Ok so I haven't given birth, so I can give the author the benefit of the doubt on this.
But when the gentleman H tells the h that she is "tight" I go BLARF!
Why can't romance authors be a little more realistic about the aftermath of childebirth
I have real mixed feelings about this one.
I liked it but don't really know why, The H/h take the love/hate thing just a little too far,
I liked that the heroine was successful, intelligent and independent, I liked that she had a snappy, red sportscar and thought his powerful sportscar spoke of penis compensation, I totally believed that the H hated the h and that he hated himself for lusting for her, It looked like he was totally content to adopt the baby and dump the h w/o another look.

So like I said real mixed feelings, The worst thing about the whole story in my opinion, it was that heroine thought to give the baby up for adoption.
I CAN'T bear that UU to be reviewed, Hero and heroine appear to hate each other but sleep together anyways, Heroine walks out the next morning and turns out to be pregnant, Hero shows up on doorstep months later and notices she pregnant, She goes into labor and hero realizes that it's his baby, Now she must marry him but can it work out with such high tempers and passion

Really good read! I was glued to the book and loved the fact tat you could feel the sparks jumping off these two.

SEKALI SAJA TIDAK CUKUP

Sentuhan pertama antara Harrison dan Kimberley telah menyalakan bara api di dalam tubuh mereka.

Re PartTime Father Sharon Kendrick's HP debut is epic whacktastic voyage into tart shaming seekrit babyness with a utter nematode parasite of an H who probably doesn't deserve an HEA.


What makes this book worth putting up with the nematode parasite is that SK also gives us an h who isn't afraid to challenge the H and like many future SK h's, she is independent, assertive and actually took some calcium to develop a bit of a backbone.


SK is also not afraid to push the HP boundaries, If she gets a yen to try a different kind of plot twist, and believe me, she will, she just runs with it and you can like it or lump it.
In many ways SK is the natural heir to Sara Craven, but in most cases an SK h is going to be much more competent and not nearly as martyrish as the classic SC h.


This one starts with theyr old merchant banker h meeting the nematode parasite H for the first time when he comes to warn off the h from marrying his baby brother.
The brother is younger than the h, still finishing up uni and it was pretty much a whirlwind romance.


The h is rethinking her decision to marry the young man, she thinks he is wonderful and kind, but the feelings that she should have for her future husband just aren't there and the h thinks it would be better to call the engagement off.


She never gets the chance, As soon as the H sees her for the first time, he is all about the Tarty Tramp Harlot Gold Digger Who Got Her Job on Her Back Remarks.
Then he roofie kisses her, and to the h's amazement she is hit with Lurve Force Mojo for the first time in her life.
Then he pays her off,

The h takes his money, cause she can see right away that what motivates this H is that he is ashamed of himself for wanting his brother's girl and he has to punish her because he wants to believe it is her Tarty Harlotness that is making him act that way, rather than his own lust.


The h breaks her engagement and then cashes the H's check and donates the money to charity.
Two years on the h is well established as a merchant banker and her mother, who cleans the H's manor house, hurt herself.


The h's former fiance is making his prodigal return with an heiress as his bride to be, the h is sure to his big brother's delight, and the h's semi disapproving mother wants the h to clean the manor house for the engagement party.


The h reluctantly does and of course the H is there with his big phallic sports cars to make up for his inadequacies and heated words are exchanged again as the h is scrubbing the floor and the H can't help but make remarks about that.


There is another HUGE roofie kissing moment and it is clear that the Lurve Force Mojo vibe is very strong between them.
The h has even given up on dating because no other kiss affects her like the H's does, tho she is ABSOLUTELY appalled by the chemistry.


The h ends up going to the big engagement party and after an awkward exchange of relieved greetings with her ex and his new girl, she and the H have a dancing moment which leads to a very intense Purple Passion unicorn grooming license revocation, which the H proclaims a one night stand before they even get started, complete with dramatically ripped off underwears.


The H sarcastically tells her to send him the bill for them when she gets up to leave early the next morning.
The h is still in shock that her chaste status did not protect her body from a very uninhibited response, so when the H also mockingly inquires about birth control and assumes the h already took care of it, the h agrees with him and rushes back to her London life.


Five months later the h is still having morning sickness, She has decided that adoption is best course for her, as she figures the H would either not believe he was the father, or want the offspring of someone he has called a tart.


The h also doesn't want to be single parent, She doesn't think it is a good way to raise a child with a mother who will have to work long hours and find child minders to fill in on the parenting front while she has to earn a living.
The h is struggling with the decision, but she wants to make the best choice she can for the best outcome for her child.


The h also decides not to share the information with her mother, who will just go on again about the h finding a nice husband and having her baby and will be hurt that the h is giving up her grandchild.


I admire SK's choice on this, Termination and forced marriage have all been discussed in prior decades of HPlandia, but rarely is adoption ever brought up.
The thought of adoption disturbs some readers, but if a woman isn't ready to be a mother for whatever reason, it is nice that HP's have finally progressed to looking at all the options.
So this is a big milestone for the HP timeline,

While the h is cooking her baby and overcoming nausea, the semi drunk H shows up at her flat.
He is still rather insulting about how tarty she is, but he seems to want her to go out with him.
The h figures he is probably realizing that she isn't a call up and pump kinda girl, so he wants to try the old "you owe me for the dinner" schtick to get her into bed.


Either way, her body may be treacherous, but her mind is not and she flatly refuses the H's condescending offer, she isn't anyone's booty call.
While the H is looking a bit perturbed and gobsmacked that a gold digging tart would turn him down, the h's boss shows up with a bunch of roses.


The H hastily leaves after the h enthusiastically greets her boss, as the H assumes that the h is seeing the boss romantically and makes another contemptuous remarks to the h about tart labor relations.


The h doesn't correct him, she wants the H and his insults and his unwanted Lurve Force Mojo Vibes out of her life and finally she thinks she had achieved that.
Then the h promptly cries all over her very nice boss, who is really only her friend and she feels the baby move for the first time.


We jump ahead a few more months and the h is rapidly approaching her due date and feels like a beached whale.
The H shows up again, this time the h's mother is worrying cause the h hasn't been to visit her for a while and she asked the H to check on her daughter.


The h tries to get the H to leave, but he soon sees for himself she is very preggers and as he is reeling in shock, the h goes into labor.
The H is actually pretty decent as a labor coach, tho the h's labor is speed of light fast, and hangs around to hold her hand.
The h has a little girl and the H gets all irky faced when he finds out the h is planning to have her adopted.


There is a big fight and the H tries a whole bunch of arguments about how the h is a horrible person.
The h counteracts with some really apt remarks about the H's own very bad behavior, The upshot of all the debating is that the H wants the baby and will fight the h for the her if he has too.
That doesn't jibe with the h's plan, She decides she is keeping the baby, cause now that she has met her daughter, she just can't give her up.


The H decides to semikidnap the h when she is ready to go home with her daughter, he takes her to his house and already has a supercilious nanny waiting to take charge.
Then the H threatens a huge custody battle if the h doesn't marry him, It is to be a business arrangement, with some lurve club excursions thrown in if the h agrees,

Since the H is still being a nasty nematode parasite, the h agrees to the marriage, She puts boudoir bouncing on the exclusion list tho, the H can do nothing but make tarty tramp comments still, so she doesn't need to give him anymore ammunition.


The h has never really defended herself against the H's nasty tart remarks, she rightly concludes that it would be useless, so it comes as a huge surprise when the H finally remarks that he figured out she was a unicorn groomer and he sorta apologizes for it.
The H and h are married in the local church, the H insists on a regular wedding and not a registry office.


The H also tries to apologize for his treatment of the h in the past, he finds out that the h donated the H's money to charity to get even with the H for trying to buy her off.
The h admits that once she realized how attracted she was to the H physically, there was no way she could have married his brother.


The H and h start off married life rather badly, The supercilious nanny is very interfering and the h refuses to have dinner and a boudoir moment with the H to start things off.
So the H flounces out and the h has a sleepless night,

The H has to take off on business prior to his having a big party to introduce his friends to the h, so in the interim, the h quits her job, fires the nanny and sets up a plan of action to survive marriage to the H without confessing that she loves him.


The h feels

that given the H's long history of bad behavior with her, any admission of love on her part would just lead him to greater torments of her emotions, sadly to say given what happens next, the h was probably right.


The H is very distant with the h since she won't sleep with him, At the party, the H brings his probably former and maybe current lover to taunt the h with, After the OW claims that the H is just waiting for the h to be miserable enough to leave so he can keep the baby, the h decides that he is just going to have to express his lust and choke on it.


She seduces him, Right in the middle of the party, the h and H sneak off to his study and have a quickie.
When the H asks her about why she did it later that night, the h explains about his OW and the H acts shocked that she seduced him to keep the OW from getting her hooks into him.
The h is confused so she asks him "Wasn't that what you wanted" The H admits it was and later apologize for always wanting to punish her.


This part was superbly done and I fell over laughing, because the H WAS trying to set the h up.
He just got all irky faced because she figured it out and called him on his bad behavior, again.
Then he had to say sorry for it,

So the H and h settle in and they are lurvin it up every night, The H never stays with the h in the bed tho, he hits it and then quits it for his own.
One night the h asks the H to stay and he wants her to tell him that she loves him.
The h stiffens from the shock and then the H blurts out he wants a divorce,

The h is gobsmacked, she asks him if he is going to fight her for custody and the H confesses it was all a big ploy.
The h is even more confused, cause this whole marriage was so the H could be more than a parttime father.


The H starts packing to leave and the h tells him she and the baby will just go to her house, but the H claims there is too many traumatic memories for him in his own house.
The h thinks that he is really going to go to the OW, so a big fight ensues,

The H finally shouts that he loves her and he did from the first ten seconds he saw her.
Then he kissed her and he was a total fool for his brother's girl and he hated that, He also hated that she took his money, but he resolved to wait for his brother to find another girl to marry and then he planned to pursue the h.


But instead of actually asking the h out, he pushed her into bed and then got his feelings hurt when she was sneaking off after their one night stand with a look of revulsion on her face.
The h was actually more shocked about the clothes ripping off part and tells him so, Then she confesses her love back and tells him she did not feel safe telling him her feelings when he so obviously loathed her.


The H explains it was just his massive frustration and anger with himself over their very bad beginning.
Now that the truth is finally out there, the two of them can just love each other up and sleep in the same bed all night for the big SK HP Debut HEA.


This is an excellent first HP for a newbie author, Only Michele Reid's sitelinkA Question of Pride was better, This is also one of those HP's that gets better on the reread,

The H's behavior is pretty objectionable the first time you experience it, On subsequent readings, it is a lot easier to see the nuances where the H's real feelings are hiding and for once an HP H admits that he had no OW in bed since he met the hwhich explains a LOT of his grumpy cranky pants behavior.


The h is a pretty great h too, she maybe isn't as vehement about her innocence as she could be, but then again, why should she have to defend herself to someone who makes such far reaching snap judgments based on ten seconds of meeting I did not blame her for her snark, or for playing the H's own biases against him.


SK will have a long and varied HP backlist in future books, but this is her first and it is very memorable.
So pick this one up if you find it and have a really well done whacktastic dramafest of an HPlandia outing.
