Gather The Seven Mountain Renaissance: Vision And Strategy Through 2050 Originated By Johnny Enlow Issued As Copy
very appreciative of the mindset shift this book encourages, away from the fatalism that things will only get worse and worse until the return of Christ and into the understanding that the sons of God have a yet unexperienced transformative impact to make on the affairs of the earth.
In short, the future is bright! I also appreciated the contrast presented between Calvinist and Quaker thinking early in our nation's history, and how we are still influenced by it today original sin vs original light.
I would have liked to see the author include more from other prophetic voices especially those in places of influence on each of the seven mountains.
While he has a valuable perspective, I felt the book would have been strengthened by showing what those doing the work of the kingdom in education, media, government, etc.
have to say about the vision and strategy they see in the decades ahead, especially since they will be the ones leading it.
Overall, I was encouraged by the message and found myself recommending the book to those I know in leadership positions who are passionate about kingdom impact in their sphere of influence.
One friend in government came back to me that it's the best book she's read in some time, I love the explanation the author gives for the word Renaissance, "It is about people of hope and vision bringing into the culture that which their spiritual eyes can see.
" When God shows us visions, He is directing us to share those with others, It may not always be easy, but He will be there as you experience all he has for you.
"Calebvision is the ability to see the good things that God wants us to see without being derailed from our assignment by the obstacles before us.
" I love how the author explains that although there will be struggles, or things that may get us off track, God wants us to see the wonderful things He has planned for us.
The book goes into detail about the history of the Puritans, It is said that women who heard God's voice or spoke of a vision , were thought to be witches.
Their days were numbered if word got out about this strange occurrence happening to these women, Aren't you glad that we can freely share what He has shown us or said to us without fear of death
Mr.
Endow encourages us, the body of Christ to make a longterm plan, vs the short five year plan many churches adopt.
We need to think years ahead , not just a short time so that the next generation can come along and continue the plan.
The book is very indepth and goes into having healthy relationships which will help you keep you eyes focused on your calling.
The enemy likes to distract us with marital problems, sickness and other things that will detour our vision from what God has designed us to do.
We all talk about revival, but are we really prepared for a full out across the land revival
There are so many great nuggets of truth, encouragement and direction in this book, that it took me several readings to really grasp hold of what the author was saying.
It was not for lack of confusion, but a lack on my part to really receive what he was showing me through examples and scriptures.
It made me realize that sometimes I have tunnel vision and don't look at the bigger picture, As you read this book, take you time, allow God to speak to you, "There is no greater pursuit than to see and know our God in a more intimate way, You've been given something specific that can be used to bring fame to God on earth and display the truth about how good He is.

This book engaged me in an area I have not adventured into before, The book is thoroughly researched and gives historical facts to bring readers along to current times,
I really appreciated hearing about the background of the evangelical church body and the charismatic church body, That alone is worth the money and time investment in this book, I was fascinated hearing about early church leader's views on slavery, women's roles in the church, and the value placed upon the Holy Spirit in relation to the written word in the Bible,.
I can't say I personally agree with every conclusion of this author, however I found great value in reading his thoughts to consider.
These days, especially in the USA, Christians can at times feel they are being put down and made irrelevant.
This author has ways of presenting worldwide realities in seven areas of Christian engagement that are highly encouraging, Christians who have felt down will have reason to take a higher view of what is happening,
The book has a lot of supportive examples of what is expected to be happening around the world.
The Holy Spirit's advancement of God's kingdom on earth will happen through actions of those dedicated to God's agenda.
You will be excited to read the details, I have not yet completed the whole book, but look forward to each chance I get to read
in it.
I have shared passages with my husband who has a good grasp of history, It held his interest, and he learned things he did not know,
I thank bookfun. org, the author, and Whitaker House, the publisher for giving me this book in exchange for my honest review.
Although not everyone who is Christian will agree with all the author has written, the author is sincere in his beliefs, and I now have a fuller understanding of the love and hopefulness of the worldwide charismatic Christian movement.
The book gives me the new insight of the compassion of God beyond anything and the book leads me to the hope into the God's plans to all the nations.
All the glory to the Lord! The Seven Mountain Renaissance, Vision and Strategy throughis written by author Johnny Enlow.
It is the third book in his series after The Seven Mountain Prophecy and The Seven Mountain Mantle, In the first two books the author reveals his belief how Christians are called to display the kingdom of God in the seven primary spheres of society.
Those are religion, family, education, government, economy, media, and celebration or the Arts, In this third book, Enlow cites changes he believes will happen all the way to the yearin each of these areas.
I have not read the first two books and would have benefited greatly if I had read them before reading this one.
The author has researched his book well, He provides information on the early church, women in church, and modern day issues, Stating he has had visions and Words from God, the author writes about God, the Spirit, and what he refers to as the Seven Mountains.
It is a thought provoking book, One that stays with you long after you have put it down, Enlow encourages you to find your Mountain or area of influence and go to work, He does not think short term, one or five years, His plan is a long term one,
There are many parts of the book I agreed with and liked, Some moved me. As with all things, there were other parts I did not agree with or particularly even like, This is one book that will be to each individual's own taste or belief, I rated it aout ofstars, A copy of this book was given to me by The Book Club Network for my honest review,
This book was interesting and informative, There are two books prior to this one that I haven't read but intend to buy and read, It gives the seven steps of Renaissance for the church and for Christians through, I found this book to be thought provoking, easy to read and easily understood, It does answer a lot of questions that you might have about the times we live in, Enlow has had a number of visions and words from the Lord as to how Christians are to manifest the kingdom of God in the seven primary spheres of society.
He related that information in his earlier books, The Seven Mountain Prophecy and The Seven Mountain Mantle, Now he writes what he expects to take place in the next thirty five years,
He expects the coming years to be an Era of Renaissance, As the first Renaissance showcased man's achievements, this one will display God before the watching world, There will be such a great increase in the knowledge of God and His ways that life on earth will be changed forever.
Christians are usually presented with two options when it comes to society:fight to go back to our godly roots, orhunker down.
Enlow presents another way: bringing God's solution to our broken lives and broken society, He sees Christians demonstrating God's goodness and advancing His kingdom, He sees Christians interacting with people, helping them realize how much God cares for their hearts,
He sees this leading to personal and cultural transformation in the seven primary spheres of society: religion, education, family government, economy, media, and celebration/arts.
I'll highlight a few of his expectations,
Religion: Enlow sees a clear trend away from John Calvin and toward George Fox, There needs to be a recognition that the Spirit is greater than the Word Bible,There will be an increasing knowledge of God as churches find more ways to reveal who He is, how He works, and to display His love to society.
More on this religion aspect below,
Government: “The best is yet to come in American government, By, we will have a real stronghold of righteousness in play that will progressively and positively affect government in this nation and the world as a whole.
By the year, we will be manifesting the highest level of governance ever known, ”
Economy: “Over the next twenty years, there will be an explosion of kingdom multimillionaires all over the globe.
”Enlow gives a five step “miraclegrow” formula for financial provision,
Celebration/Arts: Hollywood is going to become “Holywood, ” “This isn't simply overthetop, wishful thinking but a future reality, ”
Enlows comments about the future of education are a little troubling, He writes, “ We were designed by birth and wiring to be right brain dominant, The left brain was designed to be complementary and to assist the right brain, ”There is no footnote to support this statement and an Internet search I did provided no supporting evidence, Right handed people are left brain dominant and that seems to be somewhere betweentopercent of humans, Since this right brain issue is foundational to his expectations in education, I am leery about his proposed future.
I was disappointed with his writing about religion, He makes inflammatory statements an unsubstantiated claims about John Calvin, For example, “Calvin was responsible for executing at least a hundred people, . . ”That is just not true, The two footnotes listed mention the one man executed, Servetus, and mention no others, Again, “ Calvin personally oversaw the execution by drowning of Anabaptist ministers, as well as the execution of scores of other believers who disagreed with his views.
”That is just not true, Enlow provides no footnote this time, I did some research and found that, “Servetus was the only person put to death for religious opinions during Calvins time in Geneva, even though executions for heresy were common elsewhere.
” You can find the source at sitelink wordpress. com/
The sad part about his writing on Calvin is that it violates Enlow's own method for showing God's love.
He writes, “Fingerpointing could never be considered a correct portrayal of how Jesus would respond to people if He were walking the earth today.
”Yet that is what he has done with Calvin,
I can tell Enlow hates Calvinistic theology, He makes some pretty harsh statements about it, He calls predestination a “horrendous” doctrine, “which turns God into a megalomaniacal monster, ”He describes Calvinism as “believing in a God who is not merciful, or just, or humane but who rather coldheartedly sticks to an arbitrary plan, assigning lives of comfort to some and horrible existence to others.
”As a Charismatic Calvinist, that hurts, In all my reading of books critical of of Calvinism, I have never read statements so inflammatory and so full of misunderstanding.
Even though I am Charismatic, I don't like Enlow's elevation of the Spirit prophecy today above the written Word Bible.
I've heard many “prophets” prophesy many things that did not come true, Enlow himself says, “Many Christians have wrongly prophesied America's demise because of the removal of prayer from the public schools.
”There needs to be a standard by which to judge prophecies and that would be the Word, Enlow shows how important the Bible is when he says sex must necessarily be inside “His guidelines” and “God's boundaries.
”Those guidelines and boundaries come from the Bible, not a current prophetic word,
I have mixed feelings about this book, I like his attitude that the kingdom of God is advanced by influence and not by imposition, The problem is whether there are people of influence in each of these seven areas and whether they will do the influencing work.
His unsubstantiated comments about the right brain dominance will probably alienate many educators, His inflammatory language about Calvinism will probably alienate many Christian intellectual, as it did me, As with any prophetic book, time will tell,
I received a complimentary copy of this book through The Book Club Network for the purpose of an independent and honest review.
