Access Nowhere To Hide (The Searchers, #1) Translated By RaeAnne Thayne Formatted As Hardcover
liked the story of Gabe amp Lisa/Allie, Her two daughters were precious, What I didn't like was the switching between her names, One paragraph she was called Lisa then right away as the story continued she was called Allie, I don't know if it was someone not paying attention when it was proof read or on purpose but it turned me off this book, Cute, light story with a happy ending, Perfect read for a quiet weekend at home, Such a great book and it dealt with so many emotions, a mother's love, grief and heroine who had to battle with diabetes so that she could be there for her kids.
The heroine is on the run with her two daughters, Her beloved husband died two years ago and since then life has been a struggle and so has her health with fluctuating levels, which made her hospitalized, This helped her husband's disapproving parents win join custody of her daughters and fearing that they would take off with her daughters, she ran, It is just her bad luck that she is living next door temporarily to an FBI agent,
The hero is kind of a pain at first, He is a hard, lonely man who lives for his job in the children's unit, His pain comes from his sister's abduction and the effects that had
on his family, The romance takes time to get going and at any given moment didn't feel forced, I loved seeing them fall in love and also seeing the hero with her girls as well as reconciling with his mother, How to protect yourself and your children
A moving story about a mother who is trying to keep her inlaws from taking her children.
As she struggles to hide while keeping her daughters safe and secure, she moves next door to an FBI agent who was injured and needs her nursing skills.
Her fear that she will be discovered wars with her desire to take care of him and help him heal, Allie is on the run with her two girls, She is going by the name Lisa, Her car breaks down in Park City, Utah and she is able to get a job through her landlady cleaning rental units, Her neighbor Gage is an FBI agent, He gets injured on the job ending up with two broken legs, Lisa takes on the job of caring for him so that he can be at home rather than the hospital, Gage and Lisa strike sparks off each other,
This is one of RaeAnne Thaynes more PGromances, The characters have sex which hasn't happened in the other books I have read by this author,
I have liked some of the other books by this author better than this one, The ending feels a bit abrupt, Not sure whether Allie and Gage will make a go of it or not, Enjoyable
A sweet read, Whether youre a tough, macho FBI agent or a struggling single mom, love will find a way,.stars. After reading my first RaeAnne Thayne book, I was excited to read this second one for me, It was a quick read, but lacked the connection between the main characters that I wanted, They had the physical attraction, but I needed a deeper connection before they decided so quickly that it was love! Very emotional book, more than just a love story between two people.
Lisa is at her wit's end when she ends up in Park City, Her husband had died two years earlier and his parents are involved in a custody battle with her, Terrified of losing her girls to the people her husband couldn't wait to get away from, she took them and ran, Aggravating the issue is her battle with diabetes, When her car breaks down, she finds a job cleaning houses, where she can remain under the radar, Then she discovers she is living next door to an FBI agent, which ramps up her stress,
Gage is an FBI agent working with the Crimes Against Children unit, which is pretty much his life, He lost his sister to a kidnapper many years ago, and the effects it had on his family has turned him into a hard and driven man, He is also eaten up by guilt, feeling he should have been able to stop it, Having two little girls right next door just increases the feelings,
I loved the development of the romance, It had a slow start, due to a rather contentious first meeting, But even that aggravation didn't stop both from feeling a spark of attraction, When Gage was injured on the job, his friend and landlady, knowing she had nursing experience, hired Lisa to take care of him, Gage is a stubborn man and the clashes between him and Lisa were fun to see, especially when he ended up agreeing with her, I ached for Gage, whose boatload of guilt had him trying to push both Lisa and her girls away, I loved the scene in the kitchen when little Gaby bulldozed him into doing what she wanted, I loved how seeing Gage with the girls also started to heal Lisa's heart from the loss of her husband, The attraction between Gage and Lisa kept pulling them together, no matter how hard they tried to fight it, But Lisa still fears discovery, and what would happen if Gage knew the truth, I cried for her when those fears sent her running again, The ending was fantastic, with a resolution that came about differently than I expected, I loved seeing the changes in Gage's outlook and how he and Lisa came together,
Also part of the book was how the kidnapping of his sister affected Gage and his entire family, His deep seated guilt had caused him to distance himself from his brother Wyatt and his mother, I loved the scene in which Wyatt showed up and read Gage the riot act for not telling his family about his injury, I also loved seeing Gage and his mother reconnect and clear the air between them, The part where they talk about the kidnapping was heartwrenching and had me in tears, I have also discovered that both Wyatt and the missing sister have their own stories and I can't wait to read them,.stars.stars
Another of RaeAnne Thaynes older stories and another winner, I cant particularly pinpoint what it was about this book, but I didnt want to put it down,
The progression of the relationship between Gage and Allie is so smooth and natural, From standoffish neighbors to reluctant caregiver/patient to cautiously optimistic friends to cant deny the chemistry any longer lovers, The remorse Allie feels while trying to keep her emotional distance from Gage is touching, And Gage has so many demons to face from his past, its beautiful to see him break through to the other side of the grief and guilt hes always carried with him.
This is a very quick read and easy read, Partly because of the flow of the story making it hard to put down, partly from the wonderful characters and world building, and partly from the chemistry, I think this story is an amazing read,
This review can also be found at sitelink wordpress. c Hiding in Park City the rerelease of Nowhere to Hide is a captivating story of Lisa/Allie, on the run with her two daughters, and Gage, the FBI agent next door who worries Allie because of the danger of being discovered and at the same time is someone she is drawn to and finding herself falling in love with.
A good story with plenty of suspense, romance, and emotion, Allie and Gages Love Tryst!,
Allie aka Lisa Connors, a diabetic, single/ widowed mom and her two daughters, were running from the wealthy grandparents, in a custody battle, While hiding in Park City, she was doing cleaning jobs, leaving her kids with strangers to make ends meet and evade the law, yet she took a job caring for an injured FBI Agent, Gage McKinnon, who was bereft with lots of guilt about his sisters abduction.
Lisa/Allie was a RN in PA, so she does have a great deal of medical know how, which made everyone clued into her professional background, She tells Gage about her DM and falls in love with him after a night of wild, bilateral leg cast sex, while he is still in her care and promptly splits next morning to a seedy dive in LV, stressing her body and endangering her kids further.
Wow, loads of logically thinking!! Of course Gage tracks her down, returns her and the kids to PA on behest of her lawyer only to realize the grandparents only had visitation rights.
Yes her foray did allow her to meet Gage, got him to speak to his Mom, and resolve buried issues about his sisters abduction twenty years earlier.
. . And yes they hopefully did live HEA, hopefully in PA in her house for the girls benefit and stability,
Interesting plot with well developed characters, but would love to read more about Gages brother and Gage joining forces to locate missing Charlotte,

Overall impression: meh
Ok, so Im a huge fun of Rae Ann Thayne and loved her later series, Maybe I set the bar too high, idk, The attraction between the two main characters was forced, I mean, she fell in love with this guy and he barely interacted with her girls, That seemed quite ridiculous because she stressed how important her girls were to her, I mean, obvi, since she ran across the country to avoid losing custody of them to her former in laws, The whole thing just seemed strained, A story about Allie who's on the run from in laws after husband's death and Gage who is a FBI agent that has an accident, He breaks both legs and Allie takes care of him and they fall in love, Love thedaughters. Nowhere To Hide by RaeAnne Thayne released on Nov,is available now for purchase, This story had two cute little girls in it, Gaby was five, and her sister was three, Gaby talked enough for the both of them, Lisa was a great single mother, She did whatever she had to do, to feed, and clothe her girls, She picked them up, and moved when she thought there was a chance she may lose them to her inlaws, Lisa was diabetic, and because of the medical condition her inlaws was in court attempting to gain custody of the precious girls,
Lisa drove until her car broke down, The community where she broke down, took her, and her girls in, You could feel the love from the people that lived there,
Her neighbor Gage, was a brooding FBI agent, He was hurt on the job, and left the hospital with two broken legs, Ruth, his landlord hired Lisa to take care of Gage until he could get around on his own, The friendship / romance was sweet, They both tried to fight the attraction that was pulling them together, Her girls found a way into his heart, He enjoyed hearing them giggle,
He was shocked to find out that Lisa just packed up and left in the middle of the night, He was more surprised to find out Lisa wasn't really Lisa, So who is she really Only one way to find out, go and find her,
This was a sweet, light, read, I really enjoyed it.
A great read
Couldn't put it down, Loved all the interactions between Allie and Gage, Suspenseful as well as funny just a great story, RaeAnne did her writing magic on this, As a parent there can be nothing worse than someone taking your children away, To avoid that you would do anything, Im not one of those people who knew from birth she was destined to become a writer, I always loved to read and throughout my childhood I could usually be found with a book in my hands, To the disgust of my friends, I even enjoyed creative writing assignments that made them all groan, But I had other dreams besides writing, I wanted to be an actress or a teacher or a lawyer, Life took a different turn for me, though, when my mother made me take a journalism elective in high school thanks, Mom!, I knew the first day that this was where I belonged, After I graduated from college in journalism, I took a job at the local daily newspaper and I reveled in the challenge and the diversity of it, One day I could be interviewing the latest country mu I'm not one of those people who knew from birth she was destined to become a writer, I always loved to read and throughout my childhood I could usually be found with a book in my hands, To the disgust of my friends, I even enjoyed creative writing assignments that made them all groan, But I had other dreams besides writing, I wanted to be an actress or a teacher or a lawyer, Life took a different turn for me, though, when my mother made me take a journalism elective in high school thanks, Mom!, I knew the first day that this was where I belonged, After I graduated from college in journalism, I took a job at the local daily newspaper and I reveled in the challenge and the diversity of it, One day I could be interviewing the latest country music star, the next day I was writing about local motorcycle gangs or interviewing an award winning scientist, Through it all through the natural progression of my career from reporter to editor I wrote stories in my head, Not just any stories, either, but romances, the kind of books I have devoured since junior high school, with tales about real people going through the trials and tribulations of life until they find deep and lasting love.
I had no idea how to put these people on paper, but knew I had to try their stories were too compelling for me to ignore, I sold my first book inand now, thanbooks later, I've come to love everything about writing, from the click of the computer keys under my fingers to the "that's it!" feeling I get when a story is flowing.
I write full time now well, as full time as I can manage juggling my kids! amid the raw beauty of the northern Utah mountains, Even though I might not have dreamed of being a writer when I was younger, now I simply can't imagine my life any other way, I love to hear from readers, You can reach me at my email address, raeannethaynegmail, com sitelink.
