Attain The Unknown Heir Conveyed By Anne Herries Delivered In Leaflet
on The Unknown Heir
was an entertaining and interesting read, I liked Hester and Jared, His personality, his love of jesting is nicely contrasted with Hester's serious nature, The intrigue and possible attempts of murder made the story that much more exciting, A good read for its genre, This book could have been a decent read if Herries had been a decent writer, Unfortunately, her writing is stilted, unnatural, and she has an unfortunate habit of stating the obvious over and over and over again, It's truly painful to read her writing, This book, which should have been interesting, is painfully boring due to her writing style, I do not recommend this book or author, Awesome read! A fun historical romance in which a destitute, but titled family finds themselves at the mercy of an unknown heirthe son of the estranged daughter.
He's a clever fellow who expects to have a bit of fun at their expense, only to find an attachment to the people as well as the lovely stepdaughter of the house.
Miss Hester believes the American heir to her adopted grandfather's estate is a rogue with no fortune of his own.
She's been ordered to make him acceptable to society,
Jared Clinton has no love for the family that disowned his parent but when he feels insulted by their family lawyer, he makes the journey to their home with the intentions of telling them all what he thinks of them.
Hester and Jared meet and it soon becomes apparent that he isn't as bad as she expected and she isn't as aweful as he expected.
It should be no problem to find an heiress willing to marry him and bring the estate back to it's former glory, To bad she is experiencing desire for the first time in her life, He isn't meant for her, They need a fortune not a near penniless bride, Jared has his own secrets and desires and isn't one to follow orders, He will marry only if he wishes to and to a woman he picks, definitely not for her fortune, Besides he isn't even sure if he will stay or return to America,
One of my favorites by Anne Herries, A keeper! This was a true bit of fluff, no substantial story and the herioine, if that is what she is, was too good to be true as was the hero.
It was an okay read though,
The Duke of Shelbourne is ill and his heirs have died, all he has left is his estranged daughter's American son Jared Clinton so he sends his lawyer to contact him and ask him to come to England to take up his role as heir.
Jared is not happy with the manner used by the lawyer so he does not introduce himself as who he truly is, so they think he is poor and uncouth.
Heston Sheldon is given the job to polish Jared for his role as heir, She works out pretty fast that he is more mannered than he makes out, sitelink LINDA SOLE also writes under the names of sitelink Anne Herries, sitelink Emma Quincey, sitelink Lynn Granville and one as sitelink Juliana Linden.
