Voss. A trust fund baby with too much time on his hands, But one night, his illicit activities bring him into contact with Erik Maxwell, a concert violinist who solves crime on the side.
Soon, Voss finds himself drawn into a world of blackmail, murder, and wind chimes, The characterization in this novel is exceptional, I find myself easily able to recall the gritty wit and banter of Max and Voss a Holmes and Watson duo portrayed in modern antihero style days after finishing this novel, which I can't say about the latest novel I read by a more established author.
The action was fast paced and engaging but not as directed as I would have liked, Towards the end of the novel I felt like I was walking through a series of vignettes instead of a tightly connected story.

Putting aside some of the small errors you see in some selfpublished novels and the lack of chapter links I would recommend this novel to anyone that enjoys following the events of two memorable characters against a gritty noir styled backdrop.
I look forward to this author's next outing where I hope they'll take me on a more focused ride.
