just didn't get into this book as much as I have with the previous ones for some reason.
The storyline worked, the relationship between Abby amp Pine is still going much too slow, but better than not gaining ground at all.
No complaints other than The subplot with Liberty needed more than just what it got the last time she was mentioned.
A good read for a plane trip light and fun, Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books.
. .
star This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end, I will avoid this author like the plague in the future,
This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author,
This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.
I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be on the look out to pick up more from the series/author.
I loved this book! It had earned a permanent home in my collection and I'll be picking up the rest of the series and other books from the author ASAP.
I enjoyed this book the first I've read of this series, The author gave me enough background about the characters so I did not feel like I needed to read the first part of the series first and I rarely seem to be able to read a series in the right order anyway, LOL.
The heroine in this book at least recognized when she was getting into a risky situation and I enjoyed hearing about her candy business and small town life.
Another great book in the Candy shop series, This series just seems to get better, What did Abby see that night on the dark road, Was a man really shot When a body turns up knifed a few days later Abby wants some answers.
The story line is terrific and the characters are as always wonderful, I really liked that this time you got to meet Abby's nephews, Plus things might be finally moving forward with Pine or will Abby's friend Marshall ruin that It is obvious to everyone he has the hots for her.
This is a must read a great fast moving and interesting book that makes me want more.
Sammi Carter needs to work on her writing skills, Her style of writing plot excluded made me feel like I was reading a book intended for ayr
old.
I do not think I will ever read a book by her again, In the weeks before Thanksgiving Abby Shaw finds herself embroiled in another murder investigation, After leaving her brother's house late one evening Abby nearly runs down a man skidding to a stop.
When she exits her car to check on him shots ring out and the man is struck down on the side of the road.
When the gun fire continues Abby jumps in her car and returns to her brothers home to call the police.
When the police arrive at the scene there is no body or blood to be found despite Abbys insistence that she saw the crime.
This is the fourth book in the Candy Shop Mystery series, The book had me hooked quickly and I finished it in two days, The author does a good job at creating tension between characters, Abby and her family are realistic and welldeveloped, even her young nephews, I love the setting of this book and it is easy to envision the town as you read.
Sadly, there is only one book remaining in the series, I recommend this book/series,
I really like characters, and the storyline, I wish more would have been written about her relationships with her friends and loved ones,
Once again Sammi Carter has held me captive in another one of her "sweet mysteries",
This book was a little slow at first, but page after page it had me hanging on for more
And just when I thought I finally had all the pieces together of this six degrees of murder, BAM!
Out of almost no where I get side blinded with another twisted tale of whodunit! I particularly love the tip toe romance and she is now sharing with a certain detective and, I am also glad that the book introduced some new characters and friends of Abby's like Richie, Dylan, Marshall and Ginger.
Really in my opinion if you want a good cozy mystery, . . pick this one up, I doubt you'll be disappointed, Oh, and YAY! for my recipes in the back of the book! I think its safe to say, I'm officially hooked on these mysteries and am turning into a big fan of Sammi Carter.
Bookin the Candy Shop Mysteries,
I love this series and it just keeps getting better and better, This book finds Abby hiring more help for Divinity, coaching basketball, learning to open up to her friends, and of course dabbling in a little sleuth work in her spare time.
She quickly gets sucked into solving a mystery when she witnesses a strange shooting out on the highway one night.
The clues lead her all over town as she tries to figure out who the suspects are and how they are all tied together.
She even solves an old case along the way and realizes where she wants her relationship with Jawarski to go when a new interested suitor comes along!!! This was an extremely convoluted story.
There were so many new characters that it was hard to keep track, I was not surprised that Kerry was behind it all he was so horrible it would have been a bigger twist had it NOT been him.
There were a lot of unanswered about Liberty we never did meet her boyfriend, It was nice to see Abby spend time talking and gossiping with her friends about something other than murder.
I was surprised that Marshall made a move on her like Abby I did not see it coming.
This was not as good as the previous book, I love the Candy Shop Mystery series, I wished there had been more, This is a fun series with interesting characters and Sammi keeps you in suspense about the killer.
There are onlybooks and this one is theth book in the series, Abby Shaw was a corporate attorney until she inherited Divinity Candy Store from her Aunt Grace in Paradise, Colorado.
In this book Abby witnesses a stranger being gunned down but by the time the police arrive there is no body or blood to prove what she saw.
A few days later the body is found in town and Abby is the one who finds it with the help of her dog Max.
Abby is determine to find out what happened since she witnessed the guy getting killed twice, There are several suspects and no one wants to admit they knew the guy even though several people saw them with him.
Great story with non stop clues, And you get great candy recipes on top of a great story, Abby almost hits a man with a limp while on her way home from taking her nephews home from basketball practice.
He runs off towards the woods and Abby hears gunshots and the man falls to the ground.
When she returns with her brother and the police later, he's no where to be found and there is no trace of blood or evidence of what Abby saw.
These are fun books and I'm sorry to see I only have one more to go in the series.
Wish Carter would write more, Good foodie cozy mystery. I like the characters but the plot needs more work, I also don't enjoy it when the lead female character takes forever to get together with the man she likes.
It's beenbooks not and the have kissed, :/ Abby runs a local candy store, one that she inherited from her aunt, I haven't read the other books yet, so I was a little lost at first as to why her sisterinlaw is such a bitch.
She's emotionally blackmailing Abby to be the assistant coach for two of her nephew's basketball team and she's pushing Abby to hire cousins to help in the store.
Personally, Abby's got a lot more patience than I do, because the woman got on my last nerve.
All that tension wouldn't do for family peace, that's for sure,
The actual mystery was a bit strange and convoluted, but came down to what I expected in the end.
I liked the main character even though she put up with a lot more guff than I would've from family, friends, and her cop boyfriend.
An easy, fast read, I enjoyed it overall, This was going to be the make or break book for me, although I enjoyed the first three, I felt it becoming a little to repetitive and predictable, This book changed it up a bit, A mean I realize a cozy mystery follows the same line but this book made me more excited to read the next! This book was better than the last.
It was a much faster read for me, I kind of had the killer figured out, but I liked the storyline, When Abby witnesses a murder, naturally she leaves to call the police, Only when they return, they can't find a body, Then Abby sees the victim around town, What's going on This is the fourth in the series, and I thought it was the best one to date.
The characters are strong and the plot kept me guessing until the end,
Read my full review at sitelinkCarstairs Considers, Really enjoyed this clever cozy mystery Yum, : A cozy mystery series about an old school candy shop Yes please, Plenty of descriptions, recipes in the back not that I'll ever be able to make them, I burn cereal given half a chance but still.
An interesting, diverse network of friends, old family connections and new people, I loved all of these, which basically make up most of my favorite cozy mystery books,
There is a neat mystery here too, and we need to go back further to uncover all the facts and motivations.
I really liked that element! I also enjoyed the slow burn romance, with the unknown future, A lot of these cozy mysteries have a single, dependable partner, but Abby isn't sure WHAT she wants, and that's OK too.
I need more of these books now, five! Once again, a fun lighthearted read.
With this being the fourth book, though, I wish the main character would get married or at least engaged! I want the happily ever after NOW! Not another four books later! These books keep getting better.
I enjoyed this story and feel like justice was served at the end, I like that Abby is growing as a character, readforkimberly I read this one indays while waitingin PT and at the dr, Easy read, good story with an easy to solve mystery and the kind of ending where you want to yell at the characters because you can see them walking into the trap! A very good "Cozy" mystery.
Abby Shaw the owner of a candy store in Paradise Colorado sees what she thinks is a murder and becomes tied up with her boyfriend police detective trying to solve it.
Liked the storyline and really enjoyed the included candy recipes, this is theth in the series, I'm not sure what I think about this series, The books are good but sometimes i just want to smack Abby for being stupid to put herself in certain situations.
But then isn't that what happens in most cozies! Great characters, great plots, . . great candy recipes. Love this series! A treat for readers: a new Candy Shop mystery featuring a feisty heroine, "FRESH FICTION"
Candy shop owner Abby Shaw finds herself in a sticky situation trying to convince the police she's seen a murderwhen there's no body.
But finding out she's right puts her on the wrong side of a killer, This is a very cute cozy mystery series with candy recipes, I've read all of them so far, Abby Shaw always finds herself in the middle of a murder, She runs a shop called Divinity and everyone loves her candy, Love the smalltown setting. This was my least favorite of the Candy Shop Mystery series, One of my main complaints is Abby's relationship with Jawarski, It is just so boring! I know that she went through a bad divorce, but I feel like the relationship is dragging on and on and there is no need for it in the series anymore.
Either make them official or forget it! Also, I felt that that the first half of this book dragged a little.
I wasn't all that interested in the plot until towards the end when things got juicy, I am hoping the series starts to pick up soon, .
