ok crossover that kind of derails towards the end,

One of the main problems I had with this was the villain, He was just a guy, No special powers, no real gadgets he had had some kind of shock vest that he used exactly once to very little effect.
Despite this, Gwen and Miles still had to call in a bunch of help from the SpiderVerse so that they could.
. . punch him better I guess It didn't make much sense, because every time they met up with this guy they kicked the crap out of him no problem.
It seemed like a lame excuse to push more SpiderVerse stuff at us without giving us anything of any real substance.


Also, they pushed this hard as a romance between Gwen and Miles, but there was actually very little of that, and in the end they decided to just be friends anyway.
Talk about bait and switch, I read SpiderMan/SpiderGwen: Sitting in a Tree as single issues through Marvel Unlimited,

The SpiderMan/SpiderGwen crossover is something that was heavily discussed and shared around the time it came out.
Im only now getting to that part in the series I was behind on both SpiderGwen and the Miles Morales series, but Im pretty happy to finally see what all the fuss is about.

Before we get started though, I just want to say how much I love the cover on this volume.
Regardless of what happens between these two, or how I feel about it all, Im really happy with this cover.
Its beautifully drawn and did a great job of keeping the stylistic preferences for both characters, Ill call that a win,
If youre reading this in single issue format, say through Marvel Unlimited or something like that, the reading order is a little back and forth.
The reading order is as follows: SpiderMan, SpiderGwen, SpiderMan, SpiderGwen, SpiderMan, and finally SpiderGwen,



Before I officially dig into my review, I should mention that Im a huge fan of crossovers and teamups, so I may be

a bit biased at points.

I really enjoyed watching this pair work things out, At first I was confused when I saw the cover being advertised so heavily, I kept thinking that Gwen is so much older than Milesso doesnt that make it creepy I forgot to take into account a couple of things though.
One, this is a comic series, so characters dont age as fast as wed expect, Two, Gwen is from another universe, where it could be argued that theyre timeline is slightly different.
So where Id expect Gwen to bein the main universe, in hers shes really onlyor is itI forget.
So, still a big old for Miles, but not by as much as I expected,
I didnt realize that the plot theyve been building up to in SpiderMan, with his father being missing and everything would culminate in a crossover volume.
But the two points end up being connected, with Miles father going missing explaining how Miles and Gwen end up meeting in the first place.

There were a couple other cameos I hadnt been expecting, though I guess I should have.
Maria Hill makes an appearance, though that was more of a blip on the radar than anything else.
Ms. Marvel nearly stole the show though, Im just going to say it I wish Kamala and Gwen had more access to each other.
I think Kamala could be exactly the type of friend that Gwen needs right now,
The volume has a lot of fun playing with the will they Wont they tension, but thats really no surprise.
While I wont ruin what conclusion the relationship comes to, I will say that it was shockingly well thought out and backed up with a couple of events.
So I really cant complain about it, Ill be curious to see what happens nextor further down the line,

I am not a SpiderGwen fan, Nor apparently am I a Jason Latour fan, because his half of the book was always worse than the Bendis half, though Bendis' half wasn't that good either.
There's nothing here I want to remember, This was pretty cute.

So there's two sides to the story here, We go back and forth between two different writers telling one tale of Miles and Gwen teaming up.
Who doesn't love a Spidy teamup So Miles dad has gone missing and he has to start jumping realities.
Soon up he meets up with Gwen and they begin whooping butt, However, is there love in the air

Good: I like Miles and his boys, They feel like high school kids, Watching Gwen and Miles almost kiss, then kiss, and like each other a lot is cute and fun.
Gwen is great, her fighting style more advance than miles, and watching him admire her was sweet.


Bad: The switch in art styles is kind of jarring, The ending felt almost made it feel kind of like pointless in a way,

Overall it's a lot of fun but not amazing, I like Miles and Gwen together, When she comes tosoon forever hope they get together, Aout of. I hesitated between ok and cute vs boring and all over the place forissues,
The presence of SpiderHam a character whose very existence is way beyond my understanding in issuejust cut it out for me.
Maybe closer to.But I love Gwen Stacy, and I love Miles Morales, and I'm so glad this exists.
.Read in single issues. more like a meh had some aspects I enjoyed such as the teamup but then jumped to ridiculous matters, Aw man, why does Miles's dream girl have to live in another dimension This was great, I really enjoyed the obvious attraction between Miles and Spider Gwen in the Spiderverse movie, so it was great to see that developing here.
They make a great team and I loved their chemistry, I also got a kick out of all the interdimensional hopping as well, The cover was so perfect, . . a reference to the famous Spider movie kiss with Kirsten Dunst, . . with both inverted! Clever. I thoroughly enjoyed this SpiderGwen/SpiderMan team up, It was a riprolling transdimensional adventure with a strong emotional core, I thought the narrative style was particularly effective, I'd definitely be interested in seeing more Miles and Gwen adventures, .
