fastpaced short read will keep you on the edge of your seat with a shocking ending youll never see coming! I look forward to reading more by this author.
Fantastic!
The moment I began reading this short story, I felt like I was being pulled along a winding path and I could barely keep up.
My mind was racing, desperately trying to figure out what was going on, I felt taunted at being fed clues one at a time, However, by the time I put it all together, I was dumbfounded, What an enthralling and compelling story for one so short, I'd like to read a full length novel by this author, I'm a fan of short stories, Mostly because they aren't given the credit they deserve, It's really not so easy telling a complete tale with few words, especially when the main character doesn't know who he is or how he ended up
in the situation to begin with.
Yet still, this was a fulfilling read, I'll be checking out more by this author, Short, sweet, bloody.
This short story was rather good! It had me on the edge of my seat and the twist at the end was well written and avoided cliches.
The characters all stood out, even though the story was so short, and all in all it was a great read, Have you ever had one of those days where you wake up not knowing who you are Then you find yourself outside a house where a murder has just taken place Then you can relate to this guy.
If not, well, it's a damn good short story anyway, "I don't know who I am or how I got here, But something's not right. I can feel it in my gut, "
A man finds himself alone in the woods with no memory of how he got there, Seeking shelter and assistance from a nearby house, he instead finds a dead body, Why is he plagued with sensations of dejavu And why does the man lying dead on the floor look exactly like him
Fractured is a psychological suspense short story of approximatelywords.
Good read. A short story that does not disappoint, Did you see Finding Dory Shes the blue fish that is actually Ellen DeGeneres who suffers from shortterm memory lost and keeps forgetting where she is Well
Um, who What Where
Where was I Yes.
Where was I That would be the first question Thom asks himself in Fractured by Jessica Jesinghaus,
“Where was I” Poor Thom, You are in the rain, in the dark, in the woods and you seem to have misplaced your shoes, Not a good sign. Maybe you are a Hobbit, Maybe your name is not Thom, Maybe its Bilbo.
Next question:
“Was that blood” Yes Thom, it is, On your hands no less, Oh, are you having another Dory moment How convenient,
Next question:
What happened here Dog owners ask this a lot, You come home from work to find your floor has been replaced by toilet paper or the stuffing from what once was “Teddy” or “Doggie” or “Ewok”.
Thom wants to knowwhat happened here, Colonel Nathan R. Jessup will tell you”You cant handle the truth”,
FIND THEM scrawled in blood on the wall,
Find Them. When you are swimming in a pool of your own blood and you want to let someone, anyone, know “whodunnit”, by all means do take the time to use your own blood and dying breath to BE OF NO HELP AT ALL!
Find Them.
Find what Things A person “Couldnt have thought of a better clue” I grumbled, then shook my head sadly, “Sorry man, you probably did your best, ”
Your best Really Thom Even I could have come up with a more appropriate blood scrawl:
“Ive been killed Sherri Carter.
This is my blood and she killed me because I beat her at the spelling bee in junior high and I stole her boyfriend in high school.
Yeah it was just for a day but it must have pissed her off, ”
Whodunnit Sherri Carter! Louder! Sherri Carter!
And finally, the question that makes complete sense What, The. Heck
Exactly. Answer me thatDoryI mean Thom,
Fractured is a short story you can read in a half hour, Its actually two stories in one, The guy who lost his memory and the guy who got it back, Fractured is a dark and disturbing labyrinth of a deranged mind and there is no way out, Every time you think you have a clue about what is going on, Jessica Jesinghaus kicks you in the gut and twists your mind like a wet dishcloth.
Wringing it out and laying it out to dry,
A fractured mind, a shattered soul and a story that swallows you wholein underminutes,
I think this is just not my genre, I think people who liked this genre would give it aor, Really exciting short story. Much blood.
I recommend it, Prepare yourself for a chilling thriller, This short story quickly drew me in to the haunting scene before the confused man,
What does it mean when things look familiar, but arent as they should Would you think you were lost in a frightening nightmare Theres no waking up from this reality.
Something terrifying has recently occurred,
We catch a hint of a backstory, but it doesnt matter, Knowing the events leading up to this moment wont change the outcome, We dont need to know the reason or the circumstances, The blood would still be there, The horror would still be felt,
We catch a hint of the near future, but again, it doesnt matter, It will happen regardless of our knowledge, or lack thereof,
I love the way the author frames the story, There is no unnecessary embellishing for the sole purpose of drawing out the story, In this case, less is more, As far as short stories go, this one pulled me in and thoroughly had me entranced with my heart beating rather quickly, Suspenseful from the first paragraph, it was literally only a couple of minutes and I was absorbed,
This short story doesn't take too long to read but a great deal is said in the limited words and it was plenty of time for me to feel like I was watching a scene from a real horror or suspense movie.
The descriptive use of language worked well to raise the hairs on my arms a little, while in a state of suspense myself.
It's a shortie, but wow, it's a goodie!
This is a short story that does it's job well, Immediate hook, bleeding pun intended out the situation little by little so that you just can't stop reading, and then wrapping up a horrific situation by turning the horrified into the horror.
Good stuff!
