This has become one of my favourite hockey series, This is the fifth book in the series and is Jaxon Holland and Cara Milnes story and one I thoroughly enjoyed,

This book is a stand alone but I do recommend you read the previous books in the series as they are a great read as I love the camaraderie between all the characters.


When Jaxon has the blame solely placed on him by a blogger called Mr, Hockeypants, for one of the teams biggest losses, the only thing he can do is to escape the limelight and keep a low profile, When one of his team mates offers him the use of a secluded beach house, he jumps at the chance, only problem is that it is occupied by Cara.


Neither Jaxon or Cara expect to find anyone else there and it creates tension immediately, Jaxon is determined to win over Cara what he doesn't know is that she is in fact the blogger Mr, Hockeypants.

What will happen when Jaxon finds out Caras identity After all she almost destroyed his career, Will he be able to forgive her Or will he reject her and the feelings that have blossomed between them

Every time I finish one of these books I say I have a new favourite and yes I am saying this again.


I love S R Grey's style of writing, her characters are strong and have depth and I am excitedly anticipating the next book in the series.
I was given an advanced readers copy of this book and have decided to leave a voluntary honest review, This was my very first book by this author, Hockey is one of my favourite sports to watch on TV and live, I'm huge toronto maple leaf fan myself, So when I saw this book I knew I had to read it, Sometimes I do this myself we blame a certain player as fans, Now after reading jaxons story I see how wrong it is, I mean I will call out stupid plays etc, But I can't put all my blame on my player alone, Hockey is team sport it takes the team to win or lose I see how my judging is wrong now I feel bad, Cara also made a mistake but she also learned from it although she was taught a tougher lesson than some others, I also realized that hockey players are just normal people like us, They have feelings too. We as fans need to Remeber that at times, This series is amazing, and this latest addition is so far my favorite, I think I say that with everyone of them, LOL, S. R Grey is an amazing writer and person, she is just the sweetest, This book is filled with such brilliant descriptions of the beach, weather and love, that you just get sucked in and feel like you are there with Jaxon and Cara.
My favorite is the little lizards, how much cuter can you get, The ups and downs of falling in love are prevalent, overcoming your emotions to see what is right in front of you,STARS for sure. When a last minute vacation throws an unexpected house guest to the guest list you will never know who or what you will see, . Look with both eyes wide open because something you never knew you wanted might be right in front our your face !!
Jaxon Holland needed to find a secluded location to live until all of the fire and hell died down from the Wolves unexpected loss eliminating them from the run for another Stanley Cup.
. He couldnt go anywhere in town without being called out on his so called “Zoning Out” moment, . So when team mate Noel Sandlund offers his beach house in Florida he thinks that is far enough away from Vegas to be able to put his mind and thoughts back together after the game and the horrifying Blog Mr.
Hockeypants wrote about him.
When Noelle Sandlund asks Cara Milne to go on a mini vacation for the summer because her internship did not come through Cara figured why not, . hockey season as we know it is over, . little did Cara know she would be alone on an island in Florida with Mr, Bong Squirrel himself. .
But when the unlikely pair seem to become friends first and lovers second they never thought Naked Days on the island would be the BEST Days of there lives.
. BUT you never know a storm will be coming in Florida nevertheless, .
This installment will have your heart racing for the love these two share because they never knew they could fall so deeply for each other so quickly BUT I guess when you are alone on an excluded islandhrs a day for months something is going to happen.
. their love/ hate relationship took a toll on each of them, . Will they go back to Vegas a pair or NOT There chemistry is off the charts BUT when a little tiny hidden truth comes out sometimes LOVE keep you together.

Oh the cocky boys of the ice arena, gotta love them! As a hockey lover myself, I thoroughly enjoyed all the game talk AND the fiesty flirting of Player on Ice.


Jaxon Holland is a serious upandcomer for the Wolves, Las Vegas' hockey team but a mistake that costs the team their entry into the finals has the fans gunning for him.
Unfortunately for him, those fickle fans have a ringleader, a douchebag that calls himself Mr, Hockeypants and posts trash about him, Needing to escape the madness, he borrows a buddy's beach house for the summer, a little sun, sand and relaxation is just what he needs, Turns out he's not the only one getting away from it all, Cara is just the distraction he

doesn't need but wants desperately,

These two were so good together, their bickering and biting back at each other was funny and ridiculous sexual tension, Loved the closet sweetheart that Jason was and that Cara was so fiesty and gave as good as she got, I personally think she kept the secret too long but it worked in the end and the hockey gods shine down again, Super cute book.

This is Cara and Jaxons story.
Jaxon is a player on and off the ice, He is popular, and woman always fawn over him, When he blows a play in the game the fans are not happy, But fans get over loses and move on, right Normally that would be the case, but a popular sports blogger calls him out and blames the entire loss of the game on him all he wants is to get away.
When he is offered a beach house that is secluded he jumps at the chance to get away and get some alone time, But the house is already occupied, The chemistry between these two is hot but Cara has a secret that could ruin everything, But with secrets they have a chance of coming out, When hers comes out it could ruin everything that they are slowly building, Will he ever be able to forgive her for calling him out and making his life crazy

I loved these characters and the side characters, I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read,

I recommend this book, There isn't a book that I've read by the brilliant S, R. Grey that I haven't LOVED, but Player on Ice has become my favorite to date, Jaxon Holland is a star hockey player who has had his worst game during a do or die playoff game, and just when he couldn't feel any worse about himself, a popular blogger named Mr.
Hockeypants makes it unbearable for him, So he has to get out of town away from the enraged fans who aren't going to let him live it down anytime soon, One of his teammates has a secluded beach house, and that sounds great, especially with no fans there, There's just one problem, it's already occupied by a stunning women named Cara, who he's not allowed to mess with, They do nothing but fight, because the attraction is too much to handle, so when the chemistry FINALLY explodes, they give in, Surprisingly, Jaxon falls hard amp fast, but little does he know, that he's fallen for Mr, Hockeypants herself. Lord have mercy the flames Cara amp Jaxon put off came shooting out of my kindle to set my sheets on fire, And all of the fighting in their ongoing war! Well, they exhausted me, These two were the epitome of foreplay with wordplay for real! And I was on the edge of my seat waiting for that huge shoe to drop with Cara's secret.
So my fbomb dropping was insane with all the angst going on, on top of that secret waiting to be revealed, What an amazing story that had it all! CANNOT WAIT FOR MORE in this series or anything from this fantastic author to be honest! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!.

Like most, I'm all for the hot hockey player with a bit of an attitude and Jaxon Holland delivered when it came to that! Now Jaxon and Cara together.
. . totally different story and I have no idea why these two didn't click for me,

Jaxon is young, well, so is she and he's been playing hockey all of his life, Playing and practicing to get to where we find him, vying for the Stanley Cup, It's no secret that he misses his opportunity, the secret is how he chooses to reflect on that loss,

Cara's friend is in a funk and invites her to wallow in misery on a beautiful island, Cara is a blogger with a nice financial cushion, so she figures, why not What can go wrong with a beautiful beach house and her best friend Um, everything.


So as the blurb says, Cara and Jaxon end up in the beach house together and of course, we can guess how that first and most of the interaction between them goes.
Again, they are young and come off that way, Bickering like my kids, which felt annoying more than angsty or sexy, They both also had an inner and sometimes outer, but to themselves, dialogue that I found distracting, The big reveal is what finally made me perk up while reading, Yes it's predictable, but I was still excited to see how Jaxon was going to handle it,

The book is well written, however not my cup of tea when it comes to sports romances, Maybe because I'm getting older and don't appreciate this type of back and forth foreplay, . . like I said, I'm not sure what it was that rubbed me the wrong way with this couple, but something sure did,

It doesn't help the the blog Mr, Hockeypants writes all about and creates an overnight storm, Hoping to getaway he travels to Florida, but doesn't expect to to meet Cara Milne, But when her secret comes to light will harvest be able to forgive her Cara and Jax have incredible chemistry and loved the banter between these two,
I absolutely love this series and they to know more of these characters The Boys of Winter series has been one of my favorite sports romance series.
It has put a smile of my face every time and made me feel so much at the same time! Even tho each book could stand on its own as a read, in my opinion, you are more for the better to read them all.
This series is more than just about the individuals, its about the team, And it shows in every book!

The condensed gist of this story is that Jaxon plows a play that causes the team to lose a game.
Yes, its a huge blow to Jaxon, but it gets worse when a blogger with a huge following calls him out online and blames the entire loss on him.
Well, we all know how rabid online can become, right! So Jaxon escapes to his buddys beach house but finds it already occupied, . You can pretty much get all this from the blurb lol

What you cant get from the blurb is how this author just sucks you into a story.
How they make the characters and situations so real and relatable that you fly through the book because you just cant wait to see how it all unfolds.
They captivate you with humor and heart, THATS what I love about these books, The banter and the push/pull between Jaxon and Cara was on point, Their story wasnt farfetch, it was real, I loved the entire thing!

This was a good love story, but I predicted a lot of things before they happened.

I still enjoyed the hate to love romance between Cara amp Jaxson, Their chemistry and passion was off the charts,

"I really enjoy reading this series, I love to read sports romance novels, especially if they are about hockey, This in part is why I love this series, but mostly I think it is because of the wonderful characters in every book,
Jaxon is exactly what I like to read about when it comes to the H in romance novels, He is cocky oops can I say that has a fantastic personality, great at hockey and is an all round wonderful man, He certainly meets his match in Cara, I absolutely loved her!! Feisty isn't strong enough to describe her, The sparks fly whenever Jaxon and Cara are in the same vicinity, All that hate and prickliness can only end in one way and boy does it!!!
Jaxon is quite a romantic man, and the way this book ends will make you swoon.
