on The Girl in the Front of the Room (A Story of my Life #1)

Girl in the Front of the Room is part one of a serial, and it's about River, She's an ex cheerleader with a four year old daughter, and now works in a shop, The reader is subtly drawn in as she reminisces about how she used to be a little mean, and part of the in crowd, and the life she lives now.
single parent, living with her mother We get an understanding of her family dynamics, and know she wants a better life for her daughter.

Taylor walks into the shop, was never part of the in crowd at high school and at first she pretends not to know him, He's bolder now, and engages her in conversation, He asks her for a beer, but she turns him down, Forward to the end of her shift, and she meets him for a beer, She hesitates, and after receiving a text from her mother to say her daughter is asleep, she meets him,

I gave this short read five based on this criteria:
a Good opening chapter to the serial
b Well written, and I enjoy the language the author uses
c No typos if I read a book littered with typos even if the story deserves areview, I'd knock a star off
d An ideal lunch break length
e It's on KU River is a young, single mom, and a reformed mean girl.
When a guy she used to know in school shows up at her store, it stirs up thoughts on motherhood, being a queen bee, and balancing a love life.
This novel was ok. A story about a popular High School Cheerleader Mean Girl ten years after Graduation, she is a single mother living with her child and her mother.
She regrets how she behaved in high school and how she treated others just to be a part of the popular girls cliche, She is a Cashier Supervisor at the local Grocery Store when she meets a boy from high school that she wouldnt have given the time of day too Back then.
They chat while he is in her line, they meet up later to reminisce and she confesses to him that she regrets her behavior in High School.
The book ends with a hint of a possible friendship/relationship developing between the two,

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review, Good reads!

Short but sweet just the way I like them, With just enough story to make you want more, Thank you A pro and a conits short and I want, no I need more! This is shaping up to be a bit like my life.
Love the setting, love she wants to be a better mom than the person she was in high school and her mom is, Very vivid descriptions of character, their mannerisms, and feelings, Im hooked. Im a junkie in need of another fix, The Girl in the Front of the Room led me to a familiar time That moment when you run into someone you crushed on in high school.
River regrets making some of the typical popular girl choices, but Taylor doesnt remember her quite the same way, Memories of high school are often like that remembered with ourselves at the center, I dont want to give away details, download and enjoy Mercedes book for yourself, it is worth your time, Their story will unfold soon, and I look forward to the next in the series, This book is well worth the read with the fantastic story and characters that are written with great detail and depth that I couldn't put this book down until I finished reading the very last page! I do love this book but it just felt like one chapter of a book rather than a short story.
I just wish it could have been a full book rather than an extremely short story, This book is a good storyline that is intriguing and entertaining, The characters are engaging and captivating, I do appreciate reading this book, Book one in the Story of my Life series, This is a really short story, but worth the read, River is a cashier at the local grocery store, and she ends up checking out Taylor who she remembers from school, Hes surprised to see her there, and ends up trying his luck with her even though she was
