Seize Your Copy Love Seasoned (Hidden Beauty #5) Illustrated By Mary Crawford Accessible As Ebook
Seasoned is the fourth book by this author I have read, I enjoyed this story as much or more than the other three I've read, I love how Ms. Crawford includes some disability, illness, or emotional trauma into the characters of her books, These issues make her characters that much more real, This story was one I was able to relate to on a deeper level because the love story is not youthful new love, Rather the main characters are older and have lost the loves of their lives many years before, I can imagine that I would be devastated by the loss of the love of my life much like the main characters in Love Seasoned, Much like the characters I couldn't imagine ever having another love, The gentle and patient courtship of Gwendolyn by Denny is a great portrayal of the cultural mores this couple grew up with, Her characters are well developed and believable, there was a great plot, also well developed, Over all this was an excellent read, There were times I snickered at the humor, was a bit angry at the stubbornness of a character, and times I was brought to tears both of sadness and joy.
Certainly these are signs of a very well written tale,
At one time I wasn't a fan of romance, but, Mary Crawford weaves such good stories that include more than just the romance, but problems that everyday people have to deal with.
I've enjoyed every one of her romance stories and Love Seasoned tops the list for me, Definitely a five star romance read, Cover:
Appears to be professionally done, looks good and completely relevant to the plot and characters,
Formatting:
Beautiful, This book is easy on the eyes and looks quite like it was a labor of love,
Characters:
Brilliant, Really complex. Clearly a lot of thought went into the creation of these characters, but I almost feel like "thought" isn't right, They are so well done that they just are, No continuity issues surrounding these characters, Denny is to the core, a good guy who has been through some hard times, Those hard times seem to have shaped a part of him, Gwendolyn is still recovering from her own hard times, but she isn't letting them shape her, Crawford seems to paint a good picture of who she was before, during and after her abusive relationship and then again while she fights for her life, She seems to come out ahead, despite everything and Denny is there to help her see that, It's all very sweet.
for character developement here,
The MCs are surrounded by
a briliant cast of supporting characters who also seem very consistent, Lots of good people who I'd be honored to know "in real life",
The book:
This is a pretty fastpaced read, Denny can be longwinded but it turns out to be a good way to get to know him and his past, He's kind and adventurous which is fun and maybe a little contagious,
Both he and Gwen remind the reader that life doesn't end at a certain age or doesn't have to end after tragedy and heartache, It might not be the same but you can certainly move forward and still make the best of what you have left,
I think it's really cool as an aside that a portion of the proceeds go to the ALA, That's a great cause.
We do get a look at a fictional battle of lung cancer and having worked in Oncology for aboutyears, I found it all pretty accurate,
Overall it flows very well and I came to find myself completely rooting, not just for the MCs, but everyone else involved,
Cannot wait to delve more into the rest of this series, . . it's good people. Loved this book. Cried many times again lol, I adored the mature love story, Was a nice change. I don't know how she keeps coming up with these wedding vows but they are heart stoppers and breath takers, Really hope, yes I'm saying it again, that there is a Mindy book, Even though the unconventional couple are two you want to root for, the dialogue is too much like exposition, Real people probably don't speak that way, There are a few more grammatical errors here, too, This series makes you want to read more, though, Such sweet a story of triomphant love and devotion in unusual circumstances ! Great read and look forward to following this amazing family and their friends in Mary Crawford's further stories ! If this story does not put a lump in your throat it will be a surprise!
A second chance romance with heart.
The story line is somewhat unusual but very well written,
Great story but the teacher in my wants to scream at all the errors, Please find someone to proof the books before publishing, I was not expecting these two to get their own book, I wasnt sure how I was going to feel about it, but I did enjoy it, There were definitely issues they had to work through and I enjoyed watching the process, I was really happy about the amount we saw all of our previously beloved characters too, Im super excited for the next book, You can't help who you fall in love with,
Gwendolyn knows that all too well,
After her first husband died, she fell for the king of all losers,
She is still recovering from his mental and physical abuse, She has decided to rebuild her shattered life on her own with the help of friends and family,
Speaking of family, how did her son's fatherinlaw become the knight in shining armor she never knew she needed
Denny Ashley lost the love of his life to brain cancer.
He is not sure he has what it takes to help another woman he loves win the battle of her life,
Can Denny and Gwendolyn discover that love seasoned by time is the best kind of all
You'll love this story of mature love and triumph.
Get it now! Age like fine wine
That is what happened in this book,
I usually leave with just star ratings,
This story is about love found,
found later in life,
I am in awe of how Mary Crawford
handled the aspects love over,
I would to read more about senior love
meaning the older baby boomers not YA,
Thank you Mary Crawford,
