Experience A Thousand Years To Wait (The Tarrowburn Prophecies, #1) By L. Ryan Storms File PDF
don't generally write reviews, but damn! This book is worth it, I was on the fence about it when I checked it out from the local library, but man it quickly grew to the point I was eating lunch and couldn't put it down.
Why this book doesn't have more notoriety, I couldn't say, but it was a truly fantastic read and I'm glad I heaped it into my summer reading stack.
I thought A THOUSAND YEARS TO WAIT was such a cool read, I was immediately interested in the story and main character, there
was a lot of action, it was super creative, and the lead embraced STRENGTH.
The romance was also a nice addition to the story, and I loved how surprised I was by a few things.
“My heart ached for a longlost child who never had a chance at life, All for a crown and a thronea stupid metal ring and a simple wooden chair, ”
This was one of those books that you finish and just cant stop smiling, and you think “that was just so cute.
” Thoroughly enjoyable, like the main character, although she did say sorry a lot, But that is a trait a lot of girls I know have, so relatable, Whats up with the deaths of others causing her physical pain Its the one weird thing about her she never shares with anyone.
The ONE complaint I have is that for there to have been “two suitors,” you arent held in suspense very long about who they are or which one she will choose.
Not that a love triangle needs to lastbooks or anything, it just seemed, . . unnecessary I so enjoyed reading this book! It's wonderfully imaginative, with outstanding worldbuilding and a plot that blends quest, adventure, magic, and love.
I found myself thoroughly immersed in the story, and rooting hard for Reina to figure out how to use the talisman to access her magic and fulfill her role in the prophecy.
The ending is satisfying as a standalone book, but there's no way I'm not reading the second and third books in the series I'm not ready to say goodbye to Reina and Quinn just yet.
For lovers of fantasy with strong female characters, this A Thousand Years to Wait's for you, I stayed up waaaaay too late finishing this book, The main female character is deliciously feisty, as well as having a good head on her shoulders and a heart full of compassion, and her main love interest was everything I wantedsmart, deadly, and mysterious.
The pace of the story moves along and kept me wanting more of this fascinating world,
I highly recommend this book for those who enjoy journey fantasy with a healthy dose of romance.
More of a.than a! This book was good, dont get me wrong, There were some parts I personally struggled with but not many, I enjoyed that the storyline had romance, but it wasnt overpowering, I am curious as to how this series will continue if at all because all loose ends were tied up.
A Thousand Years to Wait
The Tarrowburn Prophecies Book
L, Ryan Storms
This was a great book, I loved the storyline. It pulled you in right away, I felt as if I was part of the characters lives, A grand prophecy with a talisman, I loved it. The characters were wonderful. The blended well together. I loved Reina. I can't wait for the next book, The cover of this book is amazing, the content is amazing and I fell in love with the main characters.
I really felt the chemistry between them and I couldnt wait to see will they, wont they
I love storys that incorporates romance and magical realism.
I had the distinct pleasure of meeting L, Ryan Storms at Cupboard Maker Books, I was immediately struck by the gorgeous covers on her books and the fascinating premise of her first book, A Thousand Years to Wait.
When I finally found time to dive in I have a serious neverending TBR pile problem I couldnt have been more pleased to discover all my initial impressions of this book were spot on.
From the first pages, I loved Reina, and watching her journey throughout this book was such fun.
There were some plot points that were rather easily guessed, but it didnt detract at all from the books progress or my utter reluctance to put the book down after staying up much too late reading.
I enjoyed the romantic aspects of this novel, though watching Reinas progression as she came into her power and role as the White Sorceress was far more compelling.
Quinn and Niles certainly made the book fun, but Reina carries such a quiet strength, and I was pleased to watch her reluctance transform into ownership of her power.
Overall, I am so happy I stumbled upon this author and her books at Cupboard Maker, Im excited to see what bookhas in store! Prophecies are meant to unfold on their ownthey cant be forced into fruition.
Or can they When a wartorn kingdom is on the cusp of falling to a usurping general, a young healer who doesn't believe in magic is called upon to help a prophecy transpire.

So when the Faranzine Talisman chooses Reina to reawaken an ancient magic and end a war, she must reconcile her beliefs, unlock the talismans secrets, and harness the magic within.
Reluctant to accept help, Reina agrees to allow two determined escorts to accompany her on her journey for truth, but each comes with a mysterious past of his own.
Her estranged childhood friend, Quinn DArturio, left their village years ago and only recently returned, harboring dark secrets behind a solemn exterior.
And despite his status as a perfect stranger, a dashing captain by the name of Niles Ingram is quick to fight by Reinas side at whatever the cost.
That someone shes only just met would give his life for hers is a sobering realization of the everpresent danger Reina has jumped into.
Theres just one problem with Reinas two companions, They, too, are featured in the talisman's prophecy as potential suitors, But what woman wants a suitor, let alone two, when shes tasked with defeating a usurping general, ending a war, finding the true king, and rightfully seating him on the throne
A Thousand Years to Wait has placed first in the Young Adult Fiction category of theRoyal Dragonfly Book Awards, in addition to being listed as an awardwinning finalist in American Book Fest'sBest Book Awards.
This story was enjoyable, the characters are well defined for a book of this length, The main character seems a bit daft in terms of how blind she seems to be to things around her.
However, the story has you thoroughly invested by the halfway mark, The romantic tension makes you want to roll your eyes at the main character, I enjoyed the many turns this tale took and would recommend it with stern parental guidance for those underspecifically for the potential trigger scene.
Sent
Narrator has good rhythm, but not the best character differentiation,
Parent review There is some minor language but no fbombs,
Sex: there are some insinuations of rape, a scene depicting imminent rape potential trigger
Violence: decent amount of bloodshed, although nothing super gory.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
This is a lovely fantasy adventure, I especially liked the attention to detail with the natural healing element of the main character, as well as the mystery added to the backgrounds of each of her companions.
I stayed up late turning the pages, needing to know what happened next! I can't help but wonder if many of these glowing reviews are friends and family of the author.
Granted, I'm only about half way through this book and find myself ready to throw it in the trash.
On the plus side, the characters are mostly likable, and it's a fast easy read so far.
On the negative side it's told in an awkward first person point of view that gets rather tedious at times with so many sentences beginning with 'I'.
Also the author can't seem to remember if she wants to tell the story in a modern tone or mimic a renaissance fair act.
Many scenarios in the story so far are predictable and reminiscent of other books/movies, hmmm, Worst yet the author can't keep track of where she put things in her own book, for example a character drops the talisman and another picks it up but in the next page the first character has the talisman even though it burned her and places it on a table.
But even better in just the next page the talisman is magically back around the neck of the second character.
Confusing.
I really want to like this book and believe the story has potential, maybe, No one is forcing me to continue reading but once I start something I try to finish and this is becoming challenging, however insulting to the intelligence.
We'll see if the rest of the story leads me to update my review,
Well, I managed to finish this ridiculous book, doubtful I'll waste time reading the next, A fantastic young adult fantasy story,
A Thousand Years to Wait is an epic adventure novel, The book carries a “Young Adult” genre title, but it will appeal to lovers of fantasy, action, and adventure no matter their age.
I love a strong female character, and Reina fits the bill perfectly, Add in two male leads vying for her attention and the required evil antagonist and you have the basics of a good story.
When author Storms reaches into her imagination and starts throwing in twists, you have a great story.
I did not see many of these “plot bombs” coming, They worked so well to wrap up this book and set the scene for book two,
The author is excellent at world building and character development, You can feel the cold, wind, electricity, and the desperation to succeed,
If you are a fan of action, adventure, and fantasy worlds, you will love “A Thousand Years to Wait” by L.
Ryan Storms. The first of a new trilogy oh, I can't wait to read the next one, this story takes us on a journey right from the beginning.
yearold Reina, a healer, is reluctant to believe in her magical abilities she's pragmatic, selfreliant, a bit stubborn, likes her simple life, and has always taken care of herself since her mother's death.
She heals through medicine, not some magical force, Or does she As she slowly unlocks her potential, she quickly learns who is friend and who is foe on this journey to fulfill a thousandyearold prophecy.
She slowly concedes to the possibility that she may be the key to ending war, defeating a general, and finding the true heir to the throne.
Does she have it in her You'll have to read and see, Full of twists, action, and amazing worldbuilding, this book was a pageturner and hard to put down.
I highly recommend it for those who enjoy a bit of fantasy, a smidgen or romance, and even those like me who adore threads of the medieval.
Great book! My favorite kind of books, regardless of the genre, are those you cant put down, those you think about when youre not reading them and those you cant wait to finish.
This debut novel is exactly one of these!
This YA fantasy has it all: prophesy, magic, lore, love, war, adventure, suspense.
Right from the start the author pulled me into her world with wonderful, characters and beautiful imagery, making it effortless for me to visualize each scenario and landscape in my head.
The lore of Andra and Stellon, Lirons two moons illustrated to me the level of thought and attention to detail the author gave to her book.
I instantly fell in love with the heroine, Moreina, who is such a fine example of a strong, intelligent, witty and compassionate woman.
Young adult novels need more strong, female leads such as Reina,
Overall, this book is a quick, fun read! I could not put it down, and, now that I am finished, I have what you call a book hangover.
I need to know what happens next because I know it cant just stop there, I cannot wait to find out what happens next in The Tarrowburn Prophecies Trilogy!,
