Procure Bones Of The Witch (Earth Magic Rises, #1) Edited By A.L. Knorr Displayed In Manuscript
free on Kindle so I figured, why not I shall add it to my neverending list of books I've downloaded based on promising enough premise fact that it's free lol Her journey as a wise continues !
Georgia gets an invitation to Scotland from Jasher, or so she thinks !!! A woman picks her up when she arrives, with a sign with her name on it, saying Jasher sent her.
but Hashed days he didn't send her, cuz he didn't even know she was coming to Scotland !!! So strangeness abounds already right from the start, While she's there, they find a body that was purposely buried inside a brick wall! Upon
investigation, Georgia thinks she knows who the woman was, abouthundred years ago.
She also becomes fairly close to Lachlan , one of the local guys that works with Jasher, The body turns up missing, mystery ensues, and evil appears, So do the fae, helping, but not very nicely, They treat her like an ignorant novice, which she kind of is, as she's had no one to teach her how to be a wise !!! So when she learns she did not win the battle with this evil, she vows to be ready when it returns.
Great new adventure and storyline into Georjies life as a wise, I hope there's someone soon in the picture to help her grow and learn her new abilities !!! Looking forward to the next installment of this series !!! I was enthralled reading this very exciting thriller set in the Scottish highlands and which start with the arrival of Georgjayna, arriving to visit from Canada.
She is a wise and has earth magical powers, which she tries to use to help out her friends in the castle she is living in, They are working hard to remove some ancient ruins but a thorn tree keeps hindering them, Georgie tries to come to their aid but finds that her magic is doing the opposite and the thorn bush becomes worse, Then they find a skeleton entombed within the mortar of the ruins and from thereon all hell is set loose in the supposedly sleepy town of Blackmouth, The story takes on a very dark twist when an eldritch appears, the skeleton disappears from the morgue, a friend disappears and then is found in a coma and Georgjie is taken to the fae dimension known as Stavarjak.
There she meets Queen Alphame and as usual nothing is as it seems when the fae are involved, Was she set up by Laec and did Fyfa really intend helping her save her friend, Evelyn I love the intricacy of the tale, the strength and bravery Georgjie shows as she stands her ground when facing such horrors and the beautiful depiction of the fae realm, Stavarjak.
I love the fight between the dark and light magical forces, and the romance between both Jasher and Evelyn, and Georgjie and Lachlan, and look forward to reading bookin this very magical series.
Surprised
I read the elemental Origins Series over a year ago, Then another author I read regularly started a reading challenge and we had to read books with predominantly green covers, In my search, I found this book and began reading, It took me a couple chapters to realize this was a continuation of Georgie"s Story from the previous series, What a delight as I loved the original series, I love that while this is tied to that series, it is a story all on it's own and I wouldn't feel lost if I hadn't read that series.
This story is full of adventure and growth, The characters are still figuring things out and that is what keeps me engrossed in the story, I am looking forward to continuing Georgie's story in the next book, I loved the elemental series, so I was happy to find out, that A, L. Knorr continued to write parallel storylines/novellas for some of the main characters,
As Georjie was one of my favorite characters, I enjoyed the book and the storybuilding in Scotland,
What bothered me is, that if you know about the other elemental books in the first place, Georjie and Jasher had a very deep connection in the main book.
I would go so far to say, that they were in love because of the experiences they shared and the way they treated each other,
In this book however, Jasher fell in love with an other girl and was an entirely different character, Nothing reminded me of the old Jasher, who was kind and cautious of his surroundings and selfless,
The Jasher in this book was focused on the new girl, at some times, he didnt gave a shit about Georjayna and even tried to use her, for finding things out, even if she clearly said, that she doesnt want to.
Also I cannot imagine Jasher to be this way, That seems out of his nature and was just used, to create a new story, which wasnt necessary in my opinion,
For the replacement of Jasher, the author created a new character, who is Lachlan,
I love Lachlan, he is such a smart, kind and comforting person to Georjie and hes kind of the Jasher from the old books in a new character.
Besides the character swap, the story was cool and the book was easy to read, It was very mysterious and creepy at times, but that was quite enjoyable for me personally, All in all, the first book of this series was nice to read and I definitely will continue with the series, I really like the concept and I love the Scottish witchy/fairytale vibes, The whole setting and atmosphere are great, I felt like I wanted a bit more development of, . . well everything lol. It all just kind of happens, Particularly relationship development was lacking for me, But I didn't realize til I finished it that this is the start of a third series within a larger world so perhaps if I went back and read the firstseries I'd feel like the world was more developed.
Not sure I'll do that, but I will at least read the next of this trilogy, I'll be looking into the earlier series as well because I think the world is interesting if I had a better grasp of it, What to say about this one, It took me a long time to actually finish it, When I started reading it few months ago it was a slow start so I left it and forgot about it, Fast forward few months later I decided to finish it and did so in one day, which was yesterday, Overall it's a nice book but I skipped few pages due to repetition and dragging of some scenes, I also did not feel any chemistry between Lachlan and Georjie, There is really no romance or much of it in this book, The suspense with the bones of a dead woman, shadowy creature, etc, it kept my interest for a bit but once the last few chapters came I just didn't care, Based on this book I have no interest in continuing to next one,.almost: I can not begin to tell you how much I enjoyed this book, I actually delayed finishing it because I wanted, no, . . I needed it to last longer for months!
I begins with such a mystery surrounding the little Scotland town and its castle, Georjayna was invited by her friend and step cousin Jasher to spend some time with him while he works on restoration,
I enjoyed the change in their relationship, as well as all new characters and the new magical world,
Mysteries were aplenty, few still left unanswered to which I am grateful for, I did my best to figure out what would happen next and failed miserably,
This was so masterful, so vivid so full of substance and emotion my poor heart swelled,
When she was questioned by the inspector I felt my palms sweat, The final confrontation at the end had me stop and blink because my eyes were glued to the words, So excited to read the next book! I have questions that need answers!
I received an arc copy and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review, High in the hills of Scotland, an ancient evil has returned, One young woman struggling to master her magic is the only hope to stop it
On the cusp of womanhood, Georjie longs to unlock the full force of her faegiven powers.
So when shes invited to Scotland, shes eager to explore the Highlands famed fairy realm hoping to find a mentor, But instead of unearthing a teacher, she discovers a mummified body within the walls of a seventeenthcentury ruin,
Teaming up with a handsome amateur historian, she uses her earthelemental gift to overturn the secrets hidden deep in the soil, But never far from the trail of clues lurks a shadowy creature on the hunt for prey, And Georjie fears it may have found its first target when a local girl vanishes, only to be discovered in an open grave with her life slipping away
Can Georjie break the curse before ancient evil claims an innocent victim Georjie is so sweet, endearing, and totally needs to learn her true powers.
The story was so twisty and turney I couldnt have predicted the outcomes or the ending, One of my favorite elemental stories so far and I thought I had been lost in Targas world! I cannot wait until the next book in the series is on Audible! I wish all of Abbeys books were able to be recorded as fast as she finishes them.

This is a brilliant read.
Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start,
Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believeable,
Great suspense and action with wonderful world building that adds so much to the story,
Can't wait to read more of these,
Recommend reading.
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book this is my voluntary and honest review, I love strong heroines, give me a story with Fae, dark sorcery and medieval Highland history as Im sooo there, then add in that its by a favorite author, A.
L. Knorr Oh yes indeedy and her Bones of the Witch Earth Magic Rises Bookdid not even remotely disappoint, This really was one heck of an unforgettable YA adventure, Perfectly plotted and written. I cannot wait for book,
Highly recommended. Enjoyable YA fantasy
While not strictly necessary, I recommend reading the authors Elementals series before picking this up, or at least Born of Earth which introduces this books MC.
The book opens with a puzzlement and ends with an open thread for the next book and in between we are treated to some well developed characters, nicely drawn scenes and some gentle, clean romance.
Definitely fine for tweens as well, This first book in the series hooks you immediately, It's branded as a Young Adult work which makes thisyr old a bit smug at my obviously youthful persona, No doubt about it, A, L. Knorr is a brilliant writer, Her characters are realistic amp their specific traits, talents amp personalities thoroughly hook the reader, Add in the storyline, plot twists, references to Canada and things ethereal and well what's not to like Particularly when you get to the end of the book amp realize you've got two more to enjoy.
An awesomely written book! Such a treasure trove of imagination, Georjayna has taken a trip to Scotland to visit her cousin, Once she touched down it was almost as if she were in another dimension and I was right there along with her, Georjie saw a vision of a woman being buried inside a castle wall which, as she found out actually happenedyears previously, This peaked her interest and from there she started a personal investigation to find out the answers as to what was going on, Georjies talent as an earth elemental came in handy at times and at other times got her into a bind, She learned that she should never trust a fae and yet the fae showed her many enlightening visions, I would love to see this book made into a movie, Ms Knorrs descriptions of the visions Georjie was experiencing were ethereal and awe inspiring, I also experienced heart palpitations as the budding romance developed between Georjie and Lachlan plus her cousin and Evie, Many surprises crept up in this story and the ending left me wanting more, Not necessarily a cliffhanger but a desire to find out what happens next, It was such a joy to read this book and I am definitely looking forward to reading the next book in this series, What a great series start, My husband listened to part of it and said he wanted it made into a movie, I cant wait for the next one, While I was a bit disappointed that Georjie and Jasher werent getting back together, But her new flame seems to be a pretty good replacement, And it was fun to see Jasher find some happiness of his own in this book, I would highly recommend reading Born of earth prior to reading this series, In fact the whole earth elemental series would be a good place to start, Although this is a good story on its own characters are referenced from the other books and other situations from the other books mentioned, You will love it either way but it will make more sense, .
