memory before waking up in the basement the night before was blank, Her head ached. Vision blurred. She was completely at her kidnappers mercy, And he had none. ”
This is how this book begins, and theres never a point in the book where the action completely slows down.
Catherine Fisher is an Amish woman thats targeted by a serial killer, and FBI agent Sutter Breneman is doing his best to protect her.
I liked Catherine. She shows great courage and resourcefulness as she works through her terrible situation and Sutter makes the perfect hero for Catherine, Theres a twist to this story that I did not see coming, and this book is definitely not a typical Amish story.
Author Mary Alford has written an intense story thats definitely a pageturner,
I received a copy of this book from the publisher, All opinions are my own, Oh. My. Gravy. This books opens with a bang literally and does not stop, I have read several books by this author, and I think this may be one of my favorites, Catherine is kidnapped she has no idea where she is or WHO she is, Sutter is the agent assigned to keep her safe, However, her kidnapper will not stop until she is dead, This book takes you on twists and turns and the killer does not let up, She is the only living witness to have gotten away from him, Sutter and Catherine will go on an adventure trying to blend in with an Amish family and slowly Catherine starts to remember who she is but can she remember who attacked her
This book is so action packed and did not stop.
I started this book on a Saturday afternoon and finished it by the evening, I could not put it down, Catherine is so sweet and your heart goes out to her, Sutter is as I pictured the kind of agent you crush on but he realizes that he is crushing on the one he is trying to protect.
These characters are so well written you feel their flaws, you feel their pain, You're heart goes out to them since they can't catch a break, This book had me guessing until the end I had my suspicions and a few suspects so it was fun to try and eliminate them.
I received a copy of this book through the Celebrate Lit Blogging Program, all thoughts are my own,
Thank you in advance to the author, Mary Alford, and JustRead Publicity tours for providing a complimentary advance review copy, A positive review was not required, All words and thoughts are my own,
Any chance to read a romantic suspense novel, Im in, If it is a clean and/or Christian novel all the better! This has definitely become one of my FAVORITE genres!
And, getting to read a book by a newtomeauthor is always a good thing.
Aboutyears ago, I was introduced to Harlequins Intrigue line, I didnt get introduced to the “Love Inspired” line until, At the time, the publisher was Steeple Hill, They added a suspense line later on,
Flashforward to today
A lot has changed, and now the Love Inspired Suspense line is definitely myfavorite.
My second is the regular Love Inspired line, Im so glad that Harlequin kept them,
This book is somewhat part of a series, which Im going to call “Amish Country” for now, However this book is easily a standalone read, The first one “Amish Country Kidnapping” isnt required to be read first, but I am adding it to the TBR list which never ends as it introduces two characters who have a substantial role in this book Noah Warren and his wife Rachel, who are married and have a daughter.
Right off this cover drew me in the threatening and ominous fire colored clouds, the scared girl on the front, and the man in the barn.
Sinister intent abounds. Definitely doesnt seem like it would bode well,
And, it doesnt,
From the first page until almost the very last, the action does not stop, I could hardly put it down, It was very well written and had such an engaging pace to it, This was an easy to follow book, but might be hard to keep up with as there is a lot going on here a serial killer, kidnapping, attempted murder
This story begins as Catherine although she doesnt remember her name has escaped a killer, but almost died in the process.
From there, the killer wont stop, But, hes also a killer that the FBI is hunting,
He and his motives are both unknowns, What is known he wont stop, When I read it at night, I found myself looking around when I heard a noise, Alford did a wonderful job in creating a mysterious and creepy killer who doesnt care who he hurts to get what he wants.
This is definitely a heartpounding, exciting
read,
When the suspect was revealed in chapter, it came as a shock as I didnt expect that turn, I honestly expected the killer was someone who was investigating the crime due to how many times he escaped law enforcement or missed them.
But, I was definitely wrong,
While a bit on the dark side as most suspense is this has just enough faith to see the characters through.
There are references to God Gott, but it isnt a central theme or a sermon based story,
Amish Country Murder
Amish Country Murder is a great suspense/mystery, Kept me guessing of who suspect was, Catherine gets away from her attacker but he keeps coming after her, She loses her memory at first, Will she get her memory back Sutter is the FBI agent who is protecting her, The book was a fast reading book which I love kind of books, I enjoyed the book very much,
I received a complimentary copy of the book from Celebrate Lit, This book review is my own opinion, I don't even know where to begin with this review, So from the very first page the author sucks you into the story and keeps you guessing almost to the very end and I say almost only because she finally says who does it and with in a few pages he's caught.
This book was so stinking good, you get to catch up with characters from Amish county kiddnapping, The author was throwing in twist and turns and the whole time leaving you wanting more, I really can't wait to read more from this group of characters, This is a good clean book and suitable for all, I received a complimentary copy of this book, Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own, ".
