on Witching with Dolphins

enjoyed this story of a witch Harper with very small magic, expecially compared to her two best friends, But the friendships are strong "friends before magic" and wonderfully endearing, There is some gripping action and suspence, I found it ended a bit quickly and was disappointed there wasn't another book, as there was potential there I liked the characters and just wanted more.
However, the story is complete and with a happy ending, I really loved that this was set in Akaroa, Aotearoa New Zealand, as I have been there and love the town, I liked the genuinely warming hot chocolate and other magic food that Valerie makes, and Ethan's strong friendship with Ika, the Dolphin, I'd recommend to anyone who likes a cosy story, with a wee bit of danger, about witches, Especially if you love Aotearoa Harper is a witch with minimal magic, barely enough to call herself a witch, Her best friends Ethan and Valerie both have exceptional magic skills, and while Harper isn't happy about it, her and Valerie have a motto: friends before magic.
But when a man comes in with promises of change and revolutionary ideas, Valerie may become swept up in it, leaving Harper behind to face the consequences.

This was a cute novella about witches and friendship, It had a hint of clean romance and you just love the characters, There isn't much evolution within the characters, but the story still worked really, So amazing! It's not too common that I pick up a book and finish it within a day as I did with this one! 'Witching With Dolphins' by Janna Ruth is a beautiful novel.
It's great reading books written by NZ authors, it adds a new layer of familiarity to it, which only added to my enjoyment of it.

The book itself was full of surprises, I loved the depth that the characters had and the unravelling of such a great story, while not moving too slowly or way too fast.
There was a lot of relatability in what was happening, and a lot of very real thoughts, feelings, actions, etc, with a bit of magic thrown in, of course!

I highly recommend you give this book a read! Janna Ruth has such a beautiful way of writing and

.Harper's best friend Valerie is everything she is not: beautiful, confident, and the most powerful witch on Banks Peninsula, Together, they run the coffee shop La Petite Sorcière and keep the balance between magic, people, and the environment, It's an honour for Harper to be Valerie's sidekick, if only they weren't in love with the same man: dolphin whisperer Ethan,
Friends before magic or boys has always been their prerogative, but their determination to hold onto it is tested when a local scientist finds out about their secret and makes Valerie a tempting offer.
Harper's envy and feelings of inferiority lead to a massive fallout between the two friends that might put both their lives at risk.
Yet, when push comes to shove, Harper is willing to give up everything for her friend: Ethan, her life, or even the little magic she has.

Set in Akaroa Harbour, this witchy novella takes you on a magical trip of swimming with the dolphins, It is a story about love, the ocean, and most importantly, friendship, .
