and I like the drawing style, especially how Louie's wagging tail is depicted, The rhythm of reading it was also fun, The ending, however, seemed too quick, especially as it's an overexaggeration of puppy behavior, it seems there should be a grand finale, But still cute and I'm sure it'll be a fun story time read, Well, some of the concepts are funny, But I felt the resolution was a bit, um, sudden Was there more that was supposed to make me laugh Was there some hidden meaning in the dog "growing up" Well, I did smile at the dog's name, and at all the things he was eating.
But I think some of this would go over preschoolers' heads, And to get the full humor of the illustrations, one should have this in a lapread, Perhaps a book talk of this one, A fun story to read to small children, but probably not a great choice

for a read aloud at school, Chewy Louie has a problem with, no surprise here, chewing anything and everything, While this is a typical puppy problem, Chewy is out of control, The ending is somewhat sudden and comes as a bit of a surprise,

I recommend this for preschool aged children with a puppy at home, Adorable. If youve had a naughty puppy, you get it, Well I read this book when I was around nine years old this was my favorite, This is story has a wonderful life lesson about how some time pets can be hard to deal with they are a amazing part of the family.
This story is about a puppy that has a biting a issue, and bites things that you wouldn't believe, The parents of giving him away but the son can't live without the dog even if the dog bites everything, At one point of the story the parents tried to fix the house and the dog ate all the wood, that is when the parents got mad the dog and had the idea to give him away.
But at the end the dog out of nowhere stops eating wood, the floor, carpet, and sticks and the family lives all happy with the dog being trained by throwing a stick.
Myyearold said it was "super, super funny" and myyearold gave it "stars", My "big" boys liked it too, It was cute, funny and had great illustrations that you need to spend a few minutes looking at because each page shows a variety of things that Chewy Louie has eaten.

This is a book to read for pure enjoyment and silliness, but most likely only "littles" will love it,

This book perfectly describes my relationship with my flatcoated retriever, Dolly, I bought it to fill out my classroom library, and ended up adding it to my home collection instead, Chewy Louie always puts a smile on my face, Picture Book
This is a fun read and has cute illustrations, I think some students might relate to this story if they have a puppy at home, I would have this in my classroom library, I agree with several of the other reviews on this one, On every page of the book the dog chews everything up, until he doesn't the ending comes out of nowhere, It gets some laughs as a readaloud, but not one I would recommend, I got a little early to one of my medical interpretations, and while I waited for the patient to arrive, I spied a "Children's" book.
I was so thrilled! Usually doctors' waiting rooms have magazines, and after a while it gets old because I spend enough time waiting for patients that I have read all the articles in the magazines present.
I recommend that all doctor's offices begin offering these kind of books, They are short enough that they can be read in one sitting and also they are usually happy and fun, and will boost the morale of the patients, who are usually dreading seeing the doctor and hearing the news.

Chewy Louie is a cute story ofpages about a puppy that chewed everything in the house including the house, It is a story of coping with someone who misbehaves and learning to accept him as he is because of the love they have for him, and finding ways to help change his behavior, even if it seems that it is an impossible task.
I loved this story because it is full of humor and also because I could relate to the cuteness of a mischievous puppy who chews all the toys, clothes, furniture, etc.
. . You love him and hate his behavior, Myyearold thought this was a funny book, He loved seeing all the places Chewy Louie chewed, It was also a good teaching book about how puppies chew/bite a lot but once they get past that "puppy" stage, they stop.

The family's new puppy may literally eat them out of house and home, To be honest, I didn't like reading this book when my brother and I were younger, Our dog wasn't like this, Now that we're adults, my brother's puppy turned out just like Chewy Louie and we lived to tell the tale, Perhaps people who have had a dog like Chewy Louie can relate the most to this book, I like it now! Chewy Louie is a good book to read to little children because it has great interactive pictures and the storyline is adorable! The book could be expresses in different ways! For example, it could represent the simply act of not giving up on someone or something but continuing to fix the problem.
The parents in this book never gave up, just found different solutions, even though Chewy Louie kept chewing on things! Great book! Louie is a typical puppy.
. . or is he He chews threw the whole house, literally, It doesn't look good for the owners until one day, he's not a puppy anymore, Not zippy enough both illustrations and textwise for a readaloud, I thought, This feels like a book from thes, Mom is always in the kitchen, in heels amp an apron, She's always worried about the puppy but dad never listens, Not the book for my kid, A dog who would do this, as the illustrator and author depict, would not be tolerated by most people, And it's like the family unrealistically has all the money in the world to deal with the problem, It's probably a "true" story, but there were so many unrealistic elements to the story that the average adult would deal with the conflict in a completely different way, like killing the dog.
Very funny. A cute story about a puppy with an abnormally bad chewing problem, He eats everything! The illustrations are funny and the narrative is short and probably familiar to many folks who have undertaken the task of training a new puppy.
Our girls really enjoyed this book, I always have and always will LOVE Chewy Louie it was sooo cute how he would keep on chewing until he got a stomach ache.
After that it was keep on chewing keep on chewing!!! My older brother loved this book almost as much as I did, If you have little little kids get this book and read it to them I think it was a life changing story for me and my older siblings!!! Actually, my grandson Chase read this book to me, but I helped out with some of the bigger words.
Since our dog is also named "Louie," although he's never chewed anything, this was a must have at the public library, What do you do with a puppy who won't stop chewing Answer: You let the story become even more surreal with each passing page eventually Louie has chewed holes in the roof, passing car tires, the briefcase of a summoned dog trainer, etc.
. Several charming and laugh out loud illustrations by the author make this a fun read for the six year old in your life.
Louie the puppy is a constantly wriggling ball of black fur, A treat for adults and kids alike! A family brings home a rambunctious puppy, .
