on Cavellis Lost Heir

Lily and her adorable baby boy, . . but I beg your pardon prince Nico you're a jerk ,didn't like him!/

Una historia bonita pero me desespero un poco la actitud de la protagonista y si, demasiado drama Didn't love it, but didn't hate it either.
Slightly interested in the family story though, I enjoyed this story by Lynn a lot! I can handle a asshole hero at the beginning of a novel if by the end of the book he gets his comeuppance or comes to some major conclusion that he was wrong or something to that effect.
I felt that I got that in this particular novel, Nico sleeps with the heroine without ever telling her who he is he seduces her, even though she's a virgin and then basically leaves her the following day.
Then he gets rather pissy when he finds out that she had his baby and never told him on that note, how do you get in touch with the prince you didn't know was a prince and tell him that their nightolove had consequences

he barely believed the kid was his after seeing the picture, I don't think he would have believed her if she'd actually done the right thing Nico's bitterness at being denied access to his son, although justified, was manifested rather cruelly.
He ended up coldly manipulating the heroine into marriage and forcing her to accept the consequences of being a princess and unfortunately spending a lot of time away from her son.
Well, consequences ensue, and the hero comes to realize what he's done wasn't so nice after all, This is why, despite the revenge/hatred angle of a good portion of the book, I can forgive him, And as a result, we have a pretty decent romance story, Okay it's probably just me but I don't want to hear about the heroes past sex life, I don't want him to think about other women or how he hadn't had a woman in a few weeks or whatever it was, I didn't want to hear how his sensual side had been ignored for awhile and that was why he wanted a woman, I don't want to hear that he had mistresses and changed them out every four weeks or that sometimes he spent the night with them and sometimes he didn't.
I just wanted him to shut his brain up, Okay now on to my review, They had a one night stand and bam she was pregnant, Once she found out who he was and that he slept around, changed mistesses every month, had several illegitimate children wasn't true but he did pay support for them, and all of the other slutty things he did, she didn't tell him.
I can't say as I blame her, She didn't even know he was a prince when she gave her virginity to him so when she found out she was shocked because of his scandalous life style.
Same trope used in many other HP's, Well supposedly she bought a stolen artifact from a street vendor so they searched her stuff and there was a picture of her with a little boy and they immediately knew this was the Prince's son.
WTH He remembers her and thinks she is trying to blackmail him and boom he sees the boy and his gut says, yeah that's my boy and I am getting married to the h.
He breaks and engagement, there's angst and more angst and a dramatic save and eventually it ends in an HEA, I didn't believe it really, I think he just wanted his son, I think that in a few years, he will be looking for another mistress, I didn't like this book, . .
It was just so unbelievable with little attempt to keep the story afloat, One example being that airport security find a picture of the child and bring it to the attention of their prince, which is how Nico finds out he has a son.
I appreciate the attempt to deviate from the usual "end up in her tiny house and spot the heir immediately" routine, I'm grateful for that but, airport security doesn't spot heirs in photographs either, And in the end the "stolen artifacts" found in her luggage were never explained, Perhaps head of security worked for the Prince when he searched for her after the couples brief affair, recognized her from a picture and detained her by suggesting her trinkets and trash were valuable artifacts and in searching her luggage found the picture of the child.
but we need to know this, Great leaps cause us to fall off and land on the rocks,.stars

I was thrilled when I won this ARC in a giveaway at the author's blog, As I just started reading from the Harlequin Presents line a short while ago, I was eager to read this one too and it didn't disappoint at all.
I was planning to review it before the holidays so I could put it up on the blog around Januaryst release date but lack of time prevented me from doing so now, about a week after release I'm finally sitting down to write my review.

CAVELLI'S LOST HEIR starts off smack dab in the middle of things, Lily Morgan is arrested and thrown in jail in the small kingdom of Montebianco, accused of trafficking priceless antiquities, Nico Cavelli, Crown Prince of Montebianco, finds out he fathered a child two years ago, in a one night stand with Lily and now has some decisions to make.
From the moment the book starts a lot happens, Nico rather forcefully coerces Lily into marrying him, whisks her of to Paris for a makeover and shopping trip so she'll look the part of the Crown Princess, they marry and of course there are also problems looming, both from within their relationship and from external elements.

Nico is a true prince, He seems harsh and distrusting, he is arrogant and elegant yet caring and devoted too, He is tired of his outward playboy, uncaring image but maintains it out of guilt and a sense of duty, Lily is feisty, independent and determined, She doesn't let people walk over her and Nico has a hard time winning her over after some of his less courteous actions, I loved that about Lily and Nico, Though they both make some wrong assumptions they were strong enough characters to admit their faults and mistakes and move on from that,

Within the firstpages the conflict is set up and you know where things are heading, Assumptions are made to and fro by both Lily and Nico, creating the conflicted situation that needs resolution, I liked the second part of this book more than the first because more things started to happen and Lily and Nico started opening up to each other.
The sex scenes were surprisingly more sexy and steamy than I expected them to be in a Harlequin Presents, I read a few HPs before this one and those I read weren't this explicit, I was pleasantly surprised by it and it also immediately prompted me to go and buy Ms, Harris' other and debut Harlequin Presents title, SPANISH MAGNATE, REDHOT REVENGE,

Despite the story being a little predictable and slowpaced at in the beginning, I loved this book, I like Lynn Raye Harris' writing style a lot and her love scenes are sensual and scorching hot, Her writing is very agreeable and fluent, I liked the characters of Lily and Nico and the ending was emotional and sweet but not too much, just the way I like 'em.

CAVELLI'S LOST HEIR is the perfect book to escape the harsh reality of everyday life and get lost in a few pleasurable reading hours, dreaming of being whisked away by a dark, tall and handsome prince.
If you have an ounce of romance inside you and you're looking for a quick and satisfying read, this is one you shouldn't miss,
I really likes this book, It was the first from this author it was good could have been a five but, . I had two issues both had to do with a situation she brings up but does not approach
domestic abuse by the other women's father was ignored even though the heroine sees it but does not want to embarrass her with the knowledge.
I say BULL!!!
the hero brother commits suicide because he must marry a woman, The hero says to himself he would have accepted him but never reveals it to anyone therefore he still
Suffers, The ending should have at least let the hero explain and revealed the brother was homosexual, The stepmom should have been told lol! I really enjoyed this book, You could feel the emotions, I loved the suspense, Liliana had played dress up as a child and pretended to be a princess, Never in her wildest dreams did she ever think would one day be a real life princess, Nico and Lily spent time together, She did not know who he really was, Had no idea he was a prince, After that magical time, he left and went back to his country, She found out she was pregnant, and had the baby, She was raising the baby just fine, Until the day Nico found out he was a father, Then her life changed on a dime, They married, and suddenly she was learning how to be a princes, Loved the emotions throughout the book, It was sweet how Nico learned how to be a dad, This was a great book, with twist and turns, a little action, and sweet romance, Normally Prince Nico Cavelli would never waste his time visiting the prison cell of a tourist, Except this particular alleged criminal has stolen something very personal to himhis son, heir to the Montebianco throne! Lily Morgan always knew it was a mistake coming to the Mediterranean kingdom, but she'd had no choice.
First she was thrown into jail for a crime she didn't commit, . . now she's been bailed out by the princethough in return she must become his royal wife! The main thing I remembered from my first book by this author was that she had had both main characters use the same mannerism, pinching the bridge of their noseso I was amused when the hero of this book also does that on the very first page.

As in that book, I got the sense once or twice here that the author was following a formula without really thinking about what she was writing.
Like this passage:

"If she'd been one of his mistresses, he'd have dressed and left her apartment, Not that he never spent the night with a womanhe often didbut just as often he felt the need to return to his own home and enjoy his solitude.
Tonight he wanted no such thing, "

This makes no sense,

I was also a little bugged by the truly incredible amounts of money flung around casually, Being a prince in this reality seems very much a fantasy, It's apparently the richest country in the world and a prince isn't accountable to anyone, And the heroine's original arrest is never explained at all it was a complete MacGuffin,

Other than that, this was a pretty good read, in a generic sort of way, Carroll's Lost Heir

He is royal, She was supposed to be a distraction in time, Never was she supposed to have his child, Let alone the heir to his father's kingdom, His brother had died and he is now next in line, But when he finds out that she had his son the marriage he was to unite two kingdoms flew out the window, He must make her marry him, Will it be enough It was entertaining but there were small details that could have made it amazing,
I loved the fierce Lily at the beginning of the book because she stood her ground with Nico, but as the story progressed I felt like she lost some of her punch.

Also, I was imagining a whole conspiracy theory for the stolen artifacts so I'll get it out of my chest here: Gaetano faked his suicide and somehow found out about Lily and Danny so he set Lily up with the artifacts so Nico could find out about his son, okay I'll stop watching conspiracy movies u.
u Also have this in manga version, which I intend to read very soon, dim for this secret baby/royalty story, I had a hard time staying with it, even though it was wellwritten,

First, there seemed to be more page time devoted to palace intrigue and the neighboring crazy king than the romance between the H/h.

Second, I didn't like the heroine, She was feisty and not in a good way,

She kept the baby a secret from the hero because she only found out his identity as a prince after their one night stand.
She was never planning on telling him that he was a father ever because her own father was useless,

She never bothered to read about the prince or his kingdom after she found out his identity, Who does that This was her son's heritage, I know it gave the author a chance to infodump in real time, but it made the heroine appear selfabsorbed and disinterested in everything but her own feelings.
And to be fair, this is an accurate portrayal of her actions,

With every decision the hero had to make, he had to weigh all kinds of outcomes and risks, etc, . . All the heroine did was react badly, She never asked for explanations she just screeched and carried on and said hurtful things, I can't imagine her in any kind of princess/duty/comforter/leadership role she is that selfabsorbed,

Third, the sex scenes were kind of, . . odd. Like I said in an earlier review, I tend to skim the sex scenes and only notice if something different is happening, In this story there were at least three scenes where the hero brought the heroine to the brink and then walked away, Um why Heroine took it as rejection, Hero thought he was being noble giving her time, I guess the author thought this would ratchet up the sexual tension, but it just felt weird and manipulative and not at all loving or passionate.

So yeah not loving this one, It had an interesting premise and setting and the characters are memorable, It's just not my cuppa, This is the Romance of Prince Nico Cavelli and Lily Morgan, When they first metyears ago she believed him to be a foreigner in the States to study at a local College, Having no idea who he really was, she fell in love with him at first sight, They spend the night together making love, her first time, And when she awakes he is gone, He left her a note promising to see her later, but is called back home to Montebianco, After a few days she believes he just used her, She soon finds out she is pregnant and then discovers who he really is, She never contacts him as she becomes concerned he would take her baby from her,

Two years after first meeting, which is where the story begins, Prince Nico Cavelli is about to about to attend a state dinner to honor his engagement to Princess Antonella, When a note is delivered to him at the Palace, The note says they have made an arrest in the missing Ancient Statues that were taken from the Museum, also inside is a picture of a woman and child, The picture is of Lily with a baby boy that looks like Prince Nico,

A lot happens in the first few chapters of this story and then most of the book focuses on Prince Nico, Principessa Lily and their baby Danny.
Nico is angry because Lily never let him know about the baby, Lily is hurt as she feels she was used by a playboy prince, He demands she marry him and has the baby brought to them, Nico's story is not all it appears to be, But the story is far from over,

I love Lynn Raye Harris's writing style and she always seems to have a twist that you just do not see coming, And she never disappoints me with her story's,
