This story was written for younger readers, It had some good messages about obeying your parents, as well as some excitement, There were also some interesting things about eagles too,
/bc generally I liked the writing style, and I probably would have liked this story when I was younger, or even written as a more mature novel.
However as an adult I find it to be very alarming, geared to younger audience, thematically and in its denouement, even more.
Its supposed to be softened with contrasting elements of family and friendship, Instead, it feels like mockery especially in its propaganda against traditional Christian teaching, Begins with teaching: enticement, privilege, the middle is normalization of: rejection, selfalienation, vindictive aggression, and it ends with wristslapping condescension, not to mention that the entire book is supporting of, indeed promoting resource occupancy, in order to normalize “invent” more alienation, necessary in “the plot”.
