Access 100 Bullets, Vol. 8: The Hard Way Authored By Brian Azzarello Presented As Mobi

arc might be my favorite so far, Great twists. Heart wrenching tragedy. Just a fun read. Back to the core story as another Minuteman is reactivated sees the mysteries around The Trust become less entangled, Wylie needs to pick a side Returning full pelt into the core story line sees the series back to its bestout of,
BULLETS VOL: THE HARD WAY continues to unravel the tangled mystery of the Trust as Wylie Times becomes the latest Minuteman to be reactivated by the Trusts onetime enforcer, Agent Graves.
But which side will he choose And what kind of game is Mr, Shepherd playing between the two Includes an introduction by crime novelist Jason Starr Twisted City, Tough Luck, Hard Feelings,

Collecting Issues.
I only care about the grand mystery, which is thankfully the focus of this volume for the most part, It also starts to get a bit confusing in this volume, though, because were meant to be keeping track of all these different characters, some of whom dont know who they are themselves, and there arent very many references back to anyone.
There are so many subplots and side characters introduced only so they can be killed in a ridiculous way, and it muddies what might otherwise be a decent series.
Now how cool was this collection
Started out with soso history blabbering, gained momentum so quickly, got so violent and highly emotional and dramatic and left hanging with that cliffhanger.
Incredible. Everything comes together revealing answers that just leaves more questions, So many great interactions and character moments that just drops my jaw and doesn't let up with the shock and surprises, What started as a noir anthology showcasing the best themes and style isnpired by Will Eisner goes full on epic in this volume as the stakes escalate, Definitely worth the build up from the rest of the series Great music can come from very unexpected sources, Bear traps are dangerous. Story is just getting better, I don't if i'm not a good reader or i really loved this, but i really can't find any loose ends on this, Every character mean something. Just loved Gabe, and loved Risso's New Orleans, HOLY SHIT The strongest installment in the series, so far, for me, The catchy hook of earlier issues has been put on a backburner as Azzarello delves deep into the brutal world of the people behind the briefcases, handguns, and bullets.
sitelinkBrian Azzarello's series,Bullets, definitely contains its high points and low points, Sadly, for me, it has so far contained more lows than highs, This eighth volume, sitelinkBullets, Vol,: The Hard Way, starts nudging the plot on the track to a discernible conclusion, We also get continued reappearances from previous characters, as the final showdown starts to take shape,

First of all, the main character of this story arc, Wylie Times, has a killer noir name, His story here is also classic noir, I know this series gets touted as "neonoir" all the time, but this is the first time I truly appreciated the noir influences,

I also enjoyed how the original gimmick of the series, Graves handing out briefcases with untraceable bullets, is mostly on the backburner but still very much in the mind of Wylie.
His target provides plenty of tension with the overall series' plot,

Dizzy's role continues to increase, and she unwittingly provides one of the bigger plot points of the entire series so far hopefully that doesn't get wiped out by the next story, somehow.

Risso's art excels in this volume, There's plenty to see in the Big Easy, and he makes it look easy, Biggest complaint is all the guys in suits look the same, but that's also a general complaint with the size of the total cast in this series, Still, seeing Cole, Wylie, and Milo from sitelinkBullets, Vol,: The Counterfifth Detective together was cool,

A complaint about the story was the extensive use of flashbacks, The problem was, it was often hard to tell when the narrative shifted to and from a flashback, A few times they changed the color palette to make it obvious, but more often it all just looked the same, which made it confusing at times to follow the multiple threads.

This is the first volume to truly nail the "neonoir" genre even more than sitelinkBullets, Vol,: The Counterfifth Detective. And it advances the overall plot about the Trust, even detailing its origins, Hopefully this is the beginning of a fantastic ending, not just another high point with another low following it, I've given up on figuring out the convoluted plot and just prefer to groove on Azzarello's mastery of character, context, and dialogue, This volume especially is an engrossing New Orleans hall of mirrors, featuring not only flashbacks, but flashbacks within flashbacks all enabled by that boozy and fatigued Wylie,

Once again, we get some more preposterous conspiracy theories think hard about that codeword sitelink"croatoa", but we also get get briefly a poignant and fascinating new character misnamed after an angel see silhouette on the cover.
And a very big death, announced by the declaration "what a fucking world" and then a pack of wolves, Back to the main plot with the trust and the minutemen,
We get the back story for the whole organization, for its fist inception, at the age of the kingdoms and before the Americas and that was great and interesting!
The revival of the lost souls and the big twist at the end.
. . great stuff! :

, . . Kingdoms come and go and the only way to last forever is to not ever exists, See a king may rule but the real power is in the hands A those who can make or break 'em, That's been the way it is FOREVER

Croatoa

I think one of the best or maybe the best volume so far.
Simply terrifying.
Someone shattered the mast of your ship Not a problem, Here, takebullets amp a handgun, and avenge, This part of the story arch was great! Gabe is such a tragic character, "The Hard Way" is probably my favorite collection in the series so far, It starts at the halfway mark for the series, issue, which features a brand new Minuteman Victor telling the entire backstory of the Trust and the Minutemen during a botched heist.
But the real highlight of this volume is "Wylie Runs the Voodoo Down," a multipart story featuring Wylie, Dizzy and Shephard in New Orleans, This is probably one of the best goddamn crime noir stories I have ever read, replete with the cold hard all the way through, Furthermore, we begin to get some flashbacks of Wylie as a Minuteman, and more of the Atlantic City story begins to come together, The volume ends with one of the most poignant turns of events that the whole series has seen thus far, I dig this one even more than "The Counterfifth Detective, " Shit goes down. Croatoa enough said. My faourite volume so far, More emotional than the rest of them, The overarching plot was expanded much more in this collection, and I enjoyed that development, Note:for series, not individual volumes Couldn't sleep last night so finished Voltoovernight, I only finished because I kept thinking "there's a reason this is so wellregarded and I'll find it at any time, Nope. Hard to keep people straight when there are 'main' characters introduced and dead before the one issue they're in is over, and the plot I don't even know what the actual plot was other than by the end I didn't care anymore, weird morality plays and double and triple crosses that just made you want the story to be over but you're on book,

It's still good to look at but the story itself was definitely lacking,

And if I get started on specifics it's going to be spoiler and since I didn't take notes on which book was which I can't be bothered to find it out.
All of the reviews will be the same both for words and score,

Overissues in, and we get one of the true 'Oh Shit!' moments in the series,
