I have read several of Shiloh Walker's books and they are either a hit or a miss with me.
The First Book of Grimm is a miss for me, Someone please tell me why many female authors write about violence and sexual assault against women with such little regard Many men authors handle the subject matter with much more respect and compassion.
Both the stories contained in the Grimm Circle seemed to be written for no other reason than shock value.
Both heroines have been brutalized and the storyline involves a modified fairy tale, I truly hated I wasted my money on such dribble, It was simply sex and violence for no valuable reason, The storylines were trite and virtually non existent, I'm sorry but I am truly disgusted with this one, Loved Shilohwalker 's take on "traditional" fairy tale characters, Can't wait for next installment :More like,I liked the first story in this book more than the second, but I really enjoyed the book as a whole.
An interesting take on fairy tales, I am really looking forward to reading the next one, Sometimes fairy tales can hide the truth, What an imagination, so loved The First Book Of Grimm, Can't wait to read more, Interesting concept, but I found myself wanting more, Both stories were interesting and entertaining, but too short, There wasn't enough relationship development for me, On top of that, one of my biggest pet peeves made an appearance, Why oh why do authors insist on mixingst andrd person pointofview in the same narrative Just go ahead and write the whole thing fromrd.
Fun series. Let me tell you what Shiloh Walker has an imagination which i LOVE although this book is NOT for underage kids I enjoyed it alot! I really enjoyed the two stories within the book.
I was surprised by how good they were and how caught up in them I got, It's a definite must read for paranormal fans! I will have to pick up the next book in the series.
The premise of this book sounded like just my thing: all the fairy tale characters we're familiar with are actually immortals who secretly fight demons.
To become what they are, they have all gone through some traumatic event, died, and been resurrected with special abilities.
Unfortunately, the storytelling never quite clicked with me, I never found myself drawn into the world and losing myself in the two tales that make up this volume.
I did like that the heroines in the two stories that make up this volume were brave in spite of having trauma in their personal histories.
I felt that element was handled pretty well,
Even though this was not really as much my sort of book as I'd hoped, I would like to read more from this author, since this one came so close to being good for me.
