Acquire Rascal (The Puppy Place, #4) Crafted By Ellen Miles Issued As Textbook
love that they feature a tough to train dog, I can totally relate to that, Once again, I hate the doggie interior monologue, I also didn't like how convenient it was that the stable owners just list a jack terrier, It can be tough placing a tough puppy and I'd like this series to reflect that, This whole series interested me for two reasons, One it is about dogs, Two it is also about finding them good homes, It was nice to read a book about a dog that could not be trained, Though we have a dog my daughter would love for us to be able to have many more dogs.
Its good for her to see how much work it can be, Despite the fact that she said she would not want this dog, she was happy that a good home was found for the dog.
It was a nice story with a happy ending, Charles and his older sister, Lizzie, are in elementary school, They have been bugging their parents to get a dog but their mom is a cat person and has said no.
She agrees to let them foster dogs so they can see what it's like having the responsibility of having a dog.
Their mother's coworker arrives one day with Rascal, a Jack Russell terrier puppy, She has three young children and Rascal is way too hyper for their family, She knows the Petersons foster dogs and is hoping they will be able to find a home for him.
Realizing Rascal needs more training than they can provide, Lizzie and Charles take Rascal to puppy training classes.
Adding to Lizzie's stress is her friend trying to entice her to go horseback riding but she's afraid of horses.
Though this book is a quick read and directed at elementaryaged children, I found it entertaining.
There is a learning experience and a puppy tip at the end, It is written in third person perspective and first person from Rascal's point of view, It is the fourth in the Puppy Place series, which currently hasbooks in the series, and works as a stand alone.
Blog review post: sitelink teenaintoronto. com Great book it's very touching and very cute! Believe me not to miss out on this book! that was the best dog book I've ever reed!!!!! : You know this book is firmly in fantasy land when it says that puppy place is where every dog finds a home.
That aint happening in reality over half of them are being injected with a lethal dose of something after a few days anyway apart from the facts this was another entry in the long series number four and it is business as usual.
The Puppy Place
Ellen MilesLizzie and Charles foster a Jack Russell terrier puppy who has too much energy, making him practically untrainable and unadoptable.
I was worn out just reading the antics of Rascal! Another great entry in the series, SM Since I love dogs my bestie told me to read The premise of this book is that a family who is having difficulty with their puppy gives it to a foster family.
The foster family has raised several puppies and successfully placed them in homes, They will try to help tame this puppy, named Rascal, before finding him a forever home, The dog in the book drove me insane, He is meant to be a problem dog, but it was beyond annoying, The words "barking and boinging" were used over and over again, Over and over and over again, I read this book with my oldest son, This is the first "The Puppy Place" book that we have read, The Main character, Rascal, is a high strung Jack russell terrier, Rascal did not make a good house dog, Lizzie and Charles find him a good home out in the country at a riding stable, This was a fun, well written story, I love how accurate these books are on breed behaviors, That and the stories are cute, Rascal The Puppy Place bookby Ellen Miles
This is a cute story for young readers,
This one is a about a Jack Russel puppy, named Rascal, He is a very hyper puppy in need of a home, But how will he find a home, if he cant calm down,
Charles and Lizzie like most kids desperately want a puppy, But, this is the fourth puppy and mom still isnt convinced, She decides fostering puppies, is still a better idea, This will teach the kids the responsibilities that come with a pet, But will the kids be able to handle this one, He is full of energy, jumps on everything, as well as chews on everything, If the kids calm him, and break his bad habits, mom will give the thought of a permanent puppy more thought.
This is a good book for puppy lovers, This book teaches responsibility, patience, and working together towards a goal,
Rascal was really bad, when he met Sir Galahad he was good so they kep him, Aurynyo As soon as I saw this book I wanted it, This is a very warm book about about Jack Russell Terriers and how active they are, Great book to read for anyone considering a Jack Russell as a puppy, This book is a very charming book, It opens readers hearts and strengthens their careness, Very sweet and amazing book!! Mommy's review from
This was Julia's first chapter book! She liked it enough that I'm getting the other books in the series.
I think it may be a little beyond her actual age group but she's getting more into reading lately and she did fine with it.
It'd written in a way that it's easy for the child to remember where they left off, We usually read one or two chapters at a time and I was surprised when she remembered what was happening each time we picked it back up I was worried about this.
Another thing I worried about, probably obviously, was the lack of pictures, This is the first totally nonillustrated book and while I was hoping got good results I knew I may have to wait awhile to get back to this one.
Julia did mind the fact that there are no pictures here at all and I think it's because the story itself really kept her going.
The characters are all relatable to a child, even as young as Julia at almost,
and I think all kids can relate to wanting a puppy, even Julia who has a plethora of animals.
Can't wait to read the rest with her! If anyone has an recommendations about any books like these for a young child I'd love to hear them especially if they're about dinosaurs, unicorns, or ponies! : Puppy Place, now streaming on Apple TV, based on the hit Scholastic book series!
Welcome to the Puppy Placewhere every puppy finds a home!Lizzie and Charles Peterson love dogs, especially puppies.
