on Noahs Ark (Little Golden Book)

and Elementary style learning for a biblical school style, Short, sweet and simple. Another reviewer said this book was not true to the Biblical account, Good heavens! I sure HOPE not, I would never consider the uncensored Old Testament suitable reading material for small children, It's a bit on the brutal side, and Noah was a drunk something that tends to get left out of Sunday School and children's storybooks.
This was probably one of my earliest introductions to biblical reading and although the story doesn't follow the Bible detail by small detail it is actually a very good telling.
I love the fact that it focuses on the main details for readers to get the gist while still showing God as a loving Father to His own creations by being willing to save them.

The writing is put into normal English and a small paragraph is added to each page so the reader isn't overwhelmed.
And again there are some liberties taken so there are author's additions such as the terrified tigers mewling, the prancing horses and sometimes how it was almost impossible to get all the animals.

What really catches my tickle, though, on this book is just the beautiful illustrations and how detailed they are.
The book has a collection of animals from all over so there are Antarctica penguins, okapis from Africa, South American parrots and just so much more.
From what I can see the animals are sexually correct in this one so the lioness has no mane unlike another I have read and strangely enough the male duck has a nice little hat along with a collar.
Whimsical!

All in all it is definitely an introductory book that will allow readers to get an understanding of the Deluge without inundating them with too much detail and King James English.
I have a very old version of this book, and my cover looks much different, but it's the same authorso I assume I'm reviewing the right book.
I had this little Golden Book as a child, and now I am reading it to my own daughter.
For a time it is one of her favorite books, and so far it is my favorite children's book based on Noah's ark of the dozens

or so I've seen.
The vocabulary is not dumbed down nor is the story "sanitized" yet it captures her attention, The drawings are not as cartoonish as what one usually finds in versions of this story, Not quite perfectly accurate according to Scripture, but mostly a good read, An enjoyable read but something more for CCD class, I just read this to my grandsons and they loved it, I loved it too. The big boat my grandsons says, Love Gods word. BibleNot true to the biblical account, Wow. What a zoo! Noah must have had his hands full with all the animals! Anyone who loves animals will like this Bible story.
Tibor Gergely must have put a lot of work into the illustrations, They're sure to keep children's attention, The classic Bible story is now available as A Little Golden Book!
