I didn't even get/through before i stopped to do a collage, Full of wonderful ideas i will be sure to try, I purchased this book at Jane's workshop at Art amp Soul in Portland, It's a delightful book filled with mixed media projects, howto's, and inspiration galore, very cool ideas A.star rating.
I'm not suggesting that it's necessary to define mixed media, to nail it down once and for all, but rather that it's an openended concept.
One person's mixedmedia piece may be another's sculpture, handmade book, or collage, In other words, "mixed media" embraces a wide variety of materials, techniques, and formats for artistic expression, . . What I like about mixed media is that you get to explore all kinds of materials and techniques without having to become an expert at any one of them or use them in traditional ways.
Which isn't to say that there's no skill involved in mixed media, The skill aside from the endless techniques you can employ is mainly in putting things together to effectively express ideas or make beautiful objects.
